This breakfast joint is the best!! They cover breakfast from hash, Biscuits and GRAVY to sugar…read moreoverloaded treats, not just donuts!   They are so fresh and delicious, loved every single bite!  The gravy is not from a mix at all. 100% home-cooked. The hash includes delightful eggs,  incredible potatoes, home cooked sausage, topped off with cheese!!!! The Donish's taste unbelievable.  This is something you have to experiences to understand.   The Donish creation needs to be on the travel  channel or food network!  It's kinda like if a donut, funal cake, and Danish all had and orgy. This breakfast joint doesn't look like much from the outside. But don't judge a book by it's cover!!!! It's a stop worth the 5 minute drive from the highway.  Infact between the local amazing things to do and this breakfast lovin place they have huge potential to make a big mark in the road triping world. This is a must stop place, a little of something for every belly!!!! *Exellent service too boot, I can only recommend!! Coming from Dallas, Texas these prices outstanding bargains! Bud's is the best doughnut shop for many, many miles. Forget your chains like Krispy Kreme and…read moreother one-off doughnut shops in larger metro areas like Joplin and Springfield. Bud's has all the best doughnuts: yeast, old-fashioned, cake, frosted, longjohns, twists. Every glaze is hand dipped. Every doughnut is hand made and fried to perfection. You have to get them early, though. Bud's opens around 5:30am and he's rarely there past 9:00am. That is a solid testament to how good and how popular these local pastries are. If you're new, try the plain old-fashioned or the maple glazed yeast doughnut. Once you do, you'll be back to try the rest.

We stopped at Hurts donuts on the way out of town. As we were leaving. Don't make that mistake. Go…read moreearlier in your trip. The restaurant was extremely clean, but I also think we may have been the first people there. It was very early. The decor was very fun. Whoever did all this stuff had a very good sense of humor as well. The young ladies who served us were bright pleasant and appeared to be enjoying their job, which I thought was a rarity for kids that age I got two different regular donuts,. The first one was a spice cake with caramel and cinnamon, and it was delicious. The second one was some sort of forgettable yeast donut that was just OK. My wife got this huge apple fritter. She ate on that thing most of the day as we traveled. She said it was incredible and extremely good. She also got a cup of some sort of flavored coffee that she said was ok. (brown sugar oat milk) The only drawback was the price, while they are extremely artistic donuts, full of flavor and very pretty. They were also $3 apiece. I'm not really griping here. It was probably worth it. Just be prepared. $30 for a dozen seems high to me. Overall, this is probably one of the top three donut places I've been to (The Donut Stop in Amarillo, Tx and Round Rock Donuts in Round Rock Tx) It just isn't your little mom and pop donut shop! Go sit down and enjoy a really pretty donut, I will when I go back
