DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!! This company quoted me $129.00 for trip from Miami airport to Key Largo. Did not notify me of any price increases. On arrival in Key Largo the driver charged me $149.00, said the cost went up because of the gas prices. I called and ask to put the return trip on my credit card. The night before leaving they called and said the credit card machine wasn't working - I would need cash. I paid him before leaving Key Largo, he insisted I pay before we left the house, $149.00. I just got my credit card statement - on it was a charge for $355.00 charged on the day I left. read more

I was told that my cab ride to the airport from Key Largo woulx be $143 and then charged double, when they charged the card I used to hold my reservation after I paid them cash. When I called, they were rude and refused to even talk to me about the situation. I have disputed the charge, but they told my credit card company that they quoted me $286, which is an INSANE amount to pay for a cab ride. Terrible. Should have read these reviews apparently because the same thing happened to me. I was told that my trip would be $45 each way. I said okay cool, great. I gave an estimated time of getting picked up at 12 and leaving the bar at 3 AM (we all work in restaurants and this is the only time we could get together to say bye to my friend) we ended up staying just a bit later than this- told him at 3 we wanted to stay a bit longer if possible, and got picked up at 3:45. I don't have a problem with a charge for this I suppose, we were late after all. But I got charged $38. So instead of spending $90 + tip in total I got charged $133 on my card. The man that picked us up was also super grumpy and seemed really pissed he had to drive us. I get it it's late, but it's your job? I even emailed and called back in forth around noon that day to double check that that late ride would be okay and they would be ready for it. When I tried to call to dispute this charge he told me it was credit card fees and then that he was going to be loosing money if he didn't charge that? Unprofessional. Figure out how much money you need to charge and stick to it. Have a set late fee. Don't act all flustered when I try and call you and say it's credit card fees. This is a business act like one. People don't like feeling tricked. If you told me from the get go how much I would be paying and there's a late fee etc I would be fine with this. But now I feel robbed and jipped, and the dude hung up on me on the phone, cmon. Where's Uber or Lyft in the upper keys anyway? read more

I called Don for a ride from Ft. Lauderdale to Key Largo. He did show up and did get to Key Largo within the specified time. My problem is that I was billed twice for the same ride and requested a credit for second charge. I was told that is would be taken care of. It wasn't. I texted and called again, and this time I was told they must have changed credit card companies, and that I would have to dispute the charge with my Credit card company. Don's Friendly Taxi was both friendly and gave excellent service. The company just got a fleet of Brand New vehicles large enough to fit a whole family and luggage. Very comfortable ride. They went the extra mile to meet us in baggage claim when we arrived, and at the end of our trip promptly picked us up at our hotel to take us back to the airport. The driver was very knowledgeable of the local area and advised us of excellent restaurants and sites. He was courteous and professional in every manner and appearance. I highly recommend using Don for all of your car service needs when in Key Largo. I forgot to mention that Don's service was the also best rate in town that we found...... Don rocks!!!! read more

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!! 1) He showed up 40 minutes late for airport pick-up 2) The vehicle was in very poor condition. 3) Informed us that he booked another couple despite previously agreeing that we would be alone (and pay the premium) 4) Complained when he saw the amount of lugage we had including the baby stroller which we had specifically told him about over the phone (that's why we asked for a van) 5) He was texting and driving on the highway at the same time 6) After confirming the price with Don (the owner) on two occasions, he over charged us after the drop off. 7) Once we politely called back to cancel our trip back (with plenty of notice) he was irrate and insulting and told us to go back to go back to our home country. Called a few times to get a ride from the airport while staying in key largo while it was raining, he said he didn't have a cab for about 30 min but to call back and ask around for other modes of transportation. He finally had a taxi but it wasn't going to be there for a while and as I was in key largo on business and was not from around the area - and asked a few questions out of frustration such as "what do you think, will I make it? im sorry im just having a rough day because I can't seem to get a ride after calling around for 2 hours" - It was a very stressful moment as I had to change my plane ticket because I couldn't get a ride as we were far away from any metropolitan areas. and I already mentioned to him that I was planning on ordering from him the following day if I indeed had to change my ticket, and I didn't understand the traffic situation from my location to Miami. Because of my colloquial dialogue he said to me "you're acting too nervous for me anyways." - I followed up the next day to confirm that I heard what I think I heard, he claimed he said that because it's weird that someone would exclaim about having a bad day and asking about the prices, etc. --- as an entrepreneur I take customer service very seriously, if you don't want my business, that's fine. A viable alternative to renting a car, as I was also able to use Don's for several local trips in the vicinity. My wife and I have been using Don's Friendly Taxi Cab to get from MIA (Miami International Airport) and our 2nd home in Key Largo, FL, since 2012; in fact, it is a particular driver, a man named Danny,, who we have been using, because Danny has been 100% reliable through what has probably been 20 round trips or more during that time. When I say 100%, I don't mean "mostly" or 90%, I mean every single time. If Danny says he'll be there on a certain day and time, that is when he's there (often 15 minutes early). His focus is getting us where we need to be when his experience of the route tells him we need to be there; he's always been right. He never speeds, never drives in any way recklessly, but we have made every flight without the slightest doubt. The service has always been rendered for exactly the fare quoted. The only times we have reached out to competitors is when Danny has let us know that he was unable to accommodate our schedule, and we have been disappointed by both the competing companies in the Keys in spite of the fact that we have reached out to them very rarely. With the competition we have booked cabs at specific times and they have failed to show; we have booked service at specific rates and been charged in excess of those rates. Danny is a man of his word. We have booked Danny to drive friends to and from MIA and he has never failed to deliver on time and for the quoted amount. I read the review Luke C. posted on 7/16 and I find it incomprehensible. Either Luke rode with someone else or he is making up his review out of whole cloth. As I said, Danny is a man of his word.
