On the floor, they have clerks that will assist you if you need to have help. The only thing that threw me off was the layout; which, I'd just about reverse of most stores. But that is not a big issue. Their pharmacy is top notch. I am from out of town, they were able to get my prescriptions from their sister store chain, Super 1, and fill them promptly.

The thoughtful son I am, I volunteer to head down to the local grocery store to stock her up before I leave, and buy ingredients for the dinner I offered to cook (meatloaf, in its bacon-topped glory - http://static3.px.yelp.com/photo/3MfWxSF-IvWCHBiN-UkMag/l ). So which store? Ralph's? Nope. Albertsons? Nada. Brookshire's is the place...that's how they do groceries south of the Mason-Dixon. It's your standard grocery store; clean, well laid-out, with a nice meat department (all butchering and grinding is free), a nice fruit and vegetable section, as well as the usual mix of national and store brands. So you won't have any problem getting that DiGiorno (not delivery) frozen pizza, Cheetos, or whatever else you've got a taste for. And like any market, they have items to appeal to the local clientele. Need fresh calfs' liver? Maybe some live crawfish? A gallon jug of sweet tea? Or the latest copy of Chewin' Tobacco and Shotguns Weekly? Okay, I made that last one up, but either way, Brookshire's will cover you. One other thing to note, especially if you're a SoCal native. Here, the employees are a little strange. They say things like "Hi!" and "Can I hep' ya find anything?" on a regular basis. And once they've rung you up and loaded your groceries in the cart, they take the groceries out to your car and load them for you, smiling the whole time. Having lived in SoCal all my life, people being that nice (without charging me for it) automatically puts me on the defensive. But it's cool - the people here are just very nice and helpful. Just come on in, and do your shopping while enjoying that legendary Southern hospitality.

I get very tired of some people saying negative things about stores that are really quite good. It is true that all employees should take pride in their work and spend less time being involved in things that are not work oriented, and that happens everywhere, but I have never had any issues at this store. It's a small town and offers other services, and this store tries. I'd like to know if those who are so quick to judge, so to speak, have ever worked retail? Complaining is easy when you can't see the bigger picture and yes, it would be nice to see a few other stores open, for the mental health of all people, instead of seeing businesses leave because they can. People need to work and big business needs to do its best to provide that instead of being unfair to communities who have served them well, and likely for a long time. You want more probably, but make do with what is available and stop complaining, they have a great selection, and their selection is up to corporate, and they seem to do a pretty good job as far as I'm concerned and the people who work there do what they are told, and sometimes that's like mission impossible, since some of us know how that works. The key is to stay focused as a worker and a consumer, so stop complaining and do your best it could be far worse so take your blinders off. This store has what you need more times than often, and the people I have seen working hard are doing their best! They are polite and always helpful. People are spoiled...they want this and that, or impose their superficial take on things, and well, most of us are there to shop, not show off and I find food, and the basics, and yes, they have auto service, so no, don't complain. This store is clean, and does its best, and that is that! Imagine what it is like to have to work hard for any company and restock shelves, lifting, pushing, tagging, etc, etc... and all the other things you as a consumer do not know about, so get over yourself, because this store does try, and I appreciate it and so should you. Grow your own apples if you think you can do better, go for it. Be grateful for things, and yes, we need a few more businesses here because the residents deserve that, not another coffee shop, and granola bars that cost $5.00, we need more than that, I can make my own coffee and do! We also need more smaller stores too, but this is a farming area, and big stores like Walmart who provide to this community are really great too, because farmers are very busy people and so is everyone else. The little man, he is the one who built this country, don't forget him or her and deserves a chance too, so see things for what they are, and remember, this store is a nice place to shop so respect it. Other than the fact that there are very few alternatives in town, meaning it's likely you will see friends or neighbors, this iteration is no different. All the typical stereotypes and tropes apply, including having an absurdly limited number of open registers and a knack for discontinuing items as soon as you grow accustomed to purchasing them. That said, if you want quality organic produce when the local farmers' market isn't in season, this is just about the only place to get it. That alone saves it from one or two star oblivion - if only barely - but doesn't change the fact that shopping here feels more like a chore than anything remotely enjoyable.

Lillian today was super nice and helpful when I needed help scanning some melatonin gummies when the tag was bent. The Deli's hot bar food is also really good. I often grab a fish plate during lunch and it is amazing. They also have really good mashed potato's and Mac and cheese. However, some of the attitudes (that seem to be pretty common amongst West Monroe) are less to be desired. I'm not perfect at customer service myself, but was upset when the pharmacy threw my prescription in front of me after I had asked for the correct one. They had also snapped that I need to "give them a second" and seemed pretty annoyed with me overall.

The trouble with the Camden Super 1 Foods store is that the manager, receipt says Reggy McDaniel, will only carry a few of the advertised specials and the only people that benefit from the specials are those that shop on the day of the sale, as they quickly run out due to not stocking enough of the sale items.
