My motorcycle was towed to Dons by the Brewster police after an accident. I was not informed of any towing charges nor any storage charges even though I went by the shop and called many times. They charged me $789 for the days the motorcycle was with them. $132 gate fee $75 admin fee $30 for non cash payment and $552 for towing even though I have AAA and was not given the choice to use it. A complete scam. No information given AT ALL. I would NEVER go here again. read more

Don the owner is a mean asshole and a liar. All I asked his secretary Diane was to please go look under my driver seat that I believe I left my folder with my Title and Bill of Sale. I need this folder so that I can get my car out of his storage. Now they towed my car on a Saturday and I called on Monday asking for them to please check under my seat? Now I call back on Tuesday and Diane said, "Don said there wasn't any folder". Because of his ignorance, I had to buy another Title for $150.00 and it took 14 days with weekends and one holiday later to get title. I also lost 7 days pays and my reputation as an employee! Bottomline: Don charged me $450.00 for storage? It should have been only 4 days storage fee at $35.00 a day = $140.00. Difference of $310.00! read more

I am beyond please with my experience at Don's! Not only were Don and his team friendly, responsive and helpful, but my car looks great! I had dents on either side of the rear of my car from two separate incidents and Don was able to fix them at the same time with a quick turn around and now my car looks like new! And the cherry on top, when I returned to get my car they had cleaned not only the outside but the inside after completing the work, which is amazing because the inside of my car was a disaster due to my life with dogs. After we unfortunately hit a deer, he got us in quickly, did a high quality repair in a few days (as promised), and when we drove off, we noticed the interior of our car had been spotlessly cleaned! Infiniti power window stuck open at Belisle Dealership in the rain outside during a big ticket mechanical trouble shooting task they had them baffled for weeks while they swapped parts and left the car exposed to the elements. $2800. and the window was never addressed. No one wants to need a body shop. Don, in this business for over 35 years knows this. I called and took my car in after a parking lot mishap with my bumper. Don answered the phone in a friendly manner and was both friendly and sympathetic on the phone and in person. He looked at the car, told me what was involved, and gave me a fair price. He ordered the Benz replacement bumper on the spot and had his paint guy verify the proper pint. Two days later, when the bumper arrived at his shop, it was painted and they called me to make n appointment. We dropped the car off and picked it up at the end of the day. Start to finish was less than a week, with friendly service. They even touched up a few scratches elsewhere on the car, without additional charge. Bottom line: fair pricing, friendly, prompt, experienced, and good work. I hope not need to return, but if I need body work done, I'd bring it here. read more

I "kissed" a locust tree while backing up, and wanted the repair to look as good as the factory paint job (2013 Ford Explorer with an amazing candy-apple red factory paint job). Don carefully assessed the damage and explained what the repair process would entail. When I dropped of the vehicle at the appointed time, I mentioned a ding on the passenger side - "Could you buff it out a little - no big production?" When I picked up the Explorer, not only did the repair appear as if the dinged corner of the SUV was factory fresh, the ding on the right side was invisible - no extra charge. I'm a very satisfied customer. n.b. Sought out Don after my Pastor had his Volvo repaired after being T-boned by a guy who ran a stop sign. The dark blue Volvo looked "as new" - Great work! I would never use this shop. At the recommendation of our insurance agent, we chose him. He was very nice, and pleasant to deal with. My car was hit by a piece of retread on the mass pike, and it ripped up the underneath of the front end. We brought it to Don's. He worked with the adjuster, and did some work. When we brought the car home, we discovered that part of the oil pan had been replaced with the wrong part, making it impossible to drain the oil. He fixed that, and there was also some concern about a broken radiator mount. Don brought in the adjustor again, and then after a few days told us that is was fixed. Fast forward four years and we took the car in to an AC shop to get the AC repaired and they found the radiator hanging on by a thread, the radiator mount broken. When Don was asked about it, he offered to 'get it on a flat bed' and fix it, but by now, because of the oil pan situation, we had no confidence in him to let him work on our car again. I suggested that he might want to help us pay for the repairs that he should have done four years ago, and he never called me back. Too much time has passed since the accident, the insurance company will not pay for the fix. So, now I am stuck with a $1000 bill that should have been covered by insurance four years ago. I'm not sure if there was fraud or just negligence, but in either case, I feel like I got had. read more

Recently, we had our SUV repaired by Don' s Auto. We are insured by Arbella and Don is one of their preferred repair shops. We had an initial meeting with Don after we got the appraisal. He looked the appraisal and the car over telling us that the repair would take a week. We were impressed with Don and his shop and decided to have him repair our vehicle. Waiting for a slot in his schedule, we were pleased when he called and had a cancellation for the next week. We dropped the car on Sunday and late Friday it was ready. The basic replacement work together with the cosmetic blending of the old and new was of very high quality. Don dealt directly with the appraiser and the insurance companies on items that were not included in the appraisal. The final cost was exactly the amount of the appraisal.
