When two dog walkers take five dogs each into a small dog park where one dog is allowed per person per visit, that kills the chance for any single dog owner to enter. It may be nice for the ´pack' but individual dogs are humped and harassed. Too much barking and pushing from the pack. The Donovan dogs are not well behaved as a group. read more

Absolutely incredible experience and service for our 1.5yo golden doodle while we were away on a 10 day vacation. Email with picture updates multiple times/day. Pick-up and drop-off with all of his supplies, and on return he looked at us like, yeah I missed you but I'm moving in with Donovans! Great care of our little guy! The Donovans team is the bomb! Donovan's Dogs are some of the best pack leaders in town! Everyone on their staff(Especially Andro, George, and Joe) are amazing! When we first started with Donovan's our dog refused to walk up / down our stairs for us. She would tremble and just stand there. Within a few weeks of working with Donovan's they had her going up / down the stairs without issue! This was something extra that they did to help our dog that we never mentioned to them. We were in shock and so so grateful that they took it upon themselves to help our dog learn. Aside from the un-asked for help with training the staff was ABOVE AND BEYOND when our dog needed a little extra TLC after getting paw injuries. They did their best to keep our dogs wounds covered while at the park (which was tough!). Every day after each walk they would send an e-mail report as to what our dog was up to. They would include tons of photos and cute little blurbs. Aside from the e-mail reports they would post videos and photos of the dog journeys on their Instagram page. Their communication with us was amazing! Overall, Donovan's made us feel that they had full control of their pack while maintaining safety, responsibility, reliability, and clear communication with the dog owners. I am writing an updated review after using Donovan's dogs for six months (through rain, sunshine, and a brutal summer). Donovan's dogs is the best dog walking/sitting company that I have ever experienced. They love my dog, George, so much and he is madly in love with them. I'm starting to worry they are close to replacing me as George's favorite person haha. In all honestly, their professional is unparalleled and all of the walkers are amazing people. Our dog Winnie has been a part of the Donovan's Dogs pack for the past 2 1/2 years and their entire team has been nothing short of amazing! Winnie is an energetic Cattle Dog mix with a strong personality, and they manage to tire her out every play group while also miraculously teaching her manners (as well as a few tricks!). They send photos after playgroups which are the highlight of our days while at work, as well as posting stories on Instagram so you can see your pup having a great time. John + his crew are incredible! Our dog, Harley, has been going to playgroup for several years, and she always comes back happy and tired. We chose Donovan's because we have irregular work schedules and don't need a walk for Harley every single day. The walks are purchased and booked through an easy-to-use app, and as long as you book by 9am the day of the walk, you're good! We trust the team explicitly and have never had any issues. I highly recommend Donovans Dogs. Our beagle has been part of the Donovan Dogs pack for a few years and we've had a wonderful experience. When we first moved to Hoboken, we hired another company briefly and had a not great experience. We ultimately switched to Donovans because we'd see the team in Hoboken dog parks engaging, training, playing and loving all the dogs in their pack. Our dog quickly became part of the Donovan's family. I recommend the Donovans if you're looking for your dog to do more than simply walk. Yes, getting a walk in and bathroom break during the work day is great - but getting to play, chase and interact with humans and other dogs is a much more fulfilling experience! I became familiar with John and his Donvans dogs when I started to take my 110 pound Leonberger to the Church dog park in Hoboken. He would arrive with his dogs and other walkers who worked for him and their dogs. All of the dogs would have a great time while being monitored very seriously. After being at the park on weekend and times when John wasn't there, I finally asked for his schedule so I would only go when he and his walkers were there. Why? Because he and his crew take responsibility for every single dog they walk. The dogs all have a great time playing and at the same time are taught how to play properly.
