I was also impressed with the cowboy beans. Typically, I do not care for beans cooked with beef, but these had a good balance between the two. It also had different varieties of beans that I appreciated. It was savory and filled me up. Lastly, the coleslaw was also good but nothing to write home about. My lunch left me satisfied without being stuffed, which is often an issue I have with barbecue. The only complaint I could see with this meal is portion sizes. While it was a comfortable serving size for myself, I could see others finding the amount of meat given too little for their money and stomachs. Even with the sides, I considered this meal to be lighter than most barbecue I have had. After this experience, I cannot wait for a chance to have a meal at the actual restaurant.

She obliged with a kindness that made me think she knew me somehow. She chose the chicken and dumplings, beef stew, apples, and two different types of corn bread. Now, I thought initially, and she even admitted, that the chicken and dumplings/beef stew mix was a little unorthodox, but that they were both so good I had to try them. Both were fantastic. The apples were awesome. I liked both types of corn bread. When I got up to leave, she called me over to the counter and said that since it was my first time there, I'd get a free dessert. You all, I was too full to even try. The food here is both tasty and filling. I was in Richmond for a conference at Eastern Kentucky University. So it was really convenient to stop by. We were searching for a new place to call our go-to spot, and acting on a friend's recommendation to check out Cooper's Hawk and join the Wine Club turned out to be the best decision we could have made. From our very first visit, your team made an indelible impression. When our server offered me gluten-free bread at the start of our meal, it honestly brought tears to my eyes. It was the first time since my diagnosis that I could enjoy a starter bread at a restaurant, and having access to such an extensive, thoughtful gluten-free menu has brought so much joy back into dining out. What started as an early Christmas gift from my husband quickly became our home away from home. After attending the new member welcome event in January, we signed up for our first monthly Wine Club dinner in February 2026--and we haven't missed a single one since! I have to mention that there was an issue with my entree when it first came out, but the manager and her team went above and beyond to make it right.
