Fine...unless you're having a baby. I chose Jensen initially because it was convenient to my work which made normal appts easy. Their office is a bit rundown feeling - or just not tech advanced - but I assumed this was a way of keeping costs down for the patients. The staff is a crap-shoot - one is very nice and friendly, the other is very rude and mean. Jensen herself, I initially loved. I found her direct, informative, patient and funny. When I finally became pregnant things started to go downhill. First, their office practices seemed a little off. I was expected to bring my morning urine sample to every appt - in the same, now non-sterile cup every time for the entire pregnancy. How much can those cups possibly cost?! I didn't receive an initial confirmation ultra-sound - they don't even do them at all in the office. I had to wait until 8 weeks to listen to the heartbeat for like 30 seconds and I only received 2 ultrasounds - at 20 weeks and 40 weeks because I was late. Still I put up with all of this because when I asked questions at my first pregnancy appt, she told me all the things I wanted to hear. That when it came time for delivery, she would be as minimally invasive as possible and let me labor as long as I like as long as there were no problems etc. That was not exactly how it turned out.
When the day came, I left for the hospital when contractions were at 5mins as I thought I was supposed to. Labor had started at 10pm and we arrived at 5:30am. I was told I was not allowed to eat or drink at all - ice chips only - per my doctor's instruction. Mind you, I had skipped dinner the night before because I wasn't feeling hungry and now I was starving. By 10am, the nurses told me my doctor said (by phone) I wasn't progressing fast enough, and they should break my water for me or I had to go home and come back when I was further. As a 1st timer this scared me, so I conceded. Shortly after that, I was told I still wasn't progressing fast enough and I had to start Potocin to speed it up, which I didn't want to do. The worst part was how hungry and thirsty I was. Now, through hours of work and pain I was exhausted because I had no food and my stomach hurt so much, it was actually worse than the contractions. All of these things I was told were up to my doc, not the nurses or hospital. My friend at the same hospital was told to order food and encouraged to take her time. Finally, after everything else, she botched my son's circumcision. I changed doc's right after my first follow up visit when she was less than helpful with the recovery and now looking back, I question everything she was ever part of for me. read more
