It's right on 9th near The National - FYI, 9th is a one way street so you may have to go up 10th for a block and loop back around. The name on the door is "BC Modern Furniture" and they're open Fri-Sun from 10-4. In addition, they run estate sales and host one day flea markets so check their website for upcoming events and sales. If you visit the store, know that it's mostly mid-century furniture with some same era collectables thrown in. It's not a huge place but it's very, very well curated. This is some of the nicest looking vintage furniture I've seen in town - lots of sideboards, dressers, end tables and some truly glorious sofas. Prices are commensurate with the quality - a big 2 piece sectional sofa with immaculate original upholstery was in the $600 range. That said, they're willing to negotiate so if you see something you love, have the conversation. The Mister grabbed a fun Maifest stein and a vintage German decor mag from 1964 for $10, so we left happy. They are adding things all the time so if you're trying to up the hipster cachet on your sweet Bay View bungalow definitely check them out.

She empties your house of items for her"warehouse" and does not give you your share because she sells the item later and you're out. I am missing all my homes possessions and never got money for very much. And the check she finally gave me...BOUNCED!! No receipts are given, no accounting for anything missing. She legally robs you. I'm still waiting for the $5k she still owes me for missing belongings that some have showed up for sale on EBay. Consider yourself warnEd.

Unfortunately, i cannot recommend Kathy's Estate Sales. Honestly I regret hiring this company all…read moretogether. The estate items were from a multi million dollar property with very expensive furniture. The clientele we needed to target was discussed prior to the sale. We discussed targeting people who could afford to purchase high end furniture (ie. people who owned summer lake homes or who were building a new home). Most of the items came from Restoration Hardware, Arhaus or other high end stores and we needed people that were in the market for such items. Kathy assured me that she had the clients that were in that market and not garage sale and thrift store people who wouldn't be interested in these high end items. Unfortunately most of Kathy's clients were not in that demographic and never even heard of the stores mentioned above. The majority of the people who showed up were senior citizens expecting a garage sale or thrift store items that could be purchases for a few dollars. So very few high end items were sold, even at 60% off of the purchase price. Kathy actually bought most of the cheaper items herself that she priced down. Kathy''s employee actually damaged a $4000 leather chair and two night stands. There was no remorse or not even an apology. When I asked if she had insurance to cover the damage she said she did not. The entire experience was just totally unprofessional. They were very rude and not at all respectful of my expensive furniture. Sales receipts were just scribbled down on a pice of paper. Which I asked for a copy of the last day of the sale, but didn't receive until two weeks later when it came in the mail with a money order attached. Just a totally sketchy operation. I had the damaged chair repaired and asked to be reimbursed but was basically told it was my problem to claim it on my homeowners insurance. I recommend getting a certificate of insurance from whomever you hire. Besides from general liability for any damage they caused Kathy's employees should be covered by workers comp insurance through her company. God forbid one of them gets hurt while moving your furniture, you would be responsible.
