But his office staff is terrible. His assistant made me cry in her office. I started this review probably 3 years ago and it's been sitting in my drafts. I dont know if she's even still there. But I remember her being absolutely awful. I was disappointed as I've had many surgeries. After this surgery I was told that the dr would reach out, no one from the office called post op. I was in horrible pain the next day and was told by the office, the dr wouldn't call me since it was a Friday and he took a holiday. I had never experienced anything like that from any surgery center or dr. Post this surgery I needed another jaw surgery and got seen in Dallas and had a completely difference experience from front desk to dr visit. It's unfortunate when your office staff sets the tone for the entire office.

I trust her, and while my anxiety was at an all time high about removing a decaying wisdom tooth, I needed someone who went a bit further than the norm on this. At age 57 having this type of oral surgery felt non trivial and I was terrified. Ruth walked me through the entire process after my initial consultation, which was quick and easy. Even through my fear, I even opted to remove a second wisdom tooth that was not yet a problem, but I knew it would be in the next few years. There was no pressure to do so and indeed, he told me it was not immediately necessary. Every staff member is so nice and friendly, you feel immediately at ease. On the day of my surgery I was very scared and my anxiety was quite high. After the procedure was done, and I had no recollection of it at all, I felt fine and numb with no pain or bleeding whatsoever. I went home and went to bed and woke up a bit sore and took a few Advil, which was all I needed to control the minimal discomfort I felt. Frankly, this experience far exceeded my expectations in the most positive way. I highly recommend doing the IV sedation for all of the obvious reasons and the cost is totally reasonable. I have no dental insurance but found the pricing fair and within and even below the standard. Do yourself a favor, don't look any further, and DO NOT watch YouTube videos prior to going in. They are nothing like what you will experience and they are overly dramatic. The only negative about the entire experience is the dietary restrictions after the procedure due to the holes left in your mouth. Of course had I done this years ago, when first suggested, my healing time would have been much shorter, but the ease and lack of pain I experienced allowed me to overlook the forced diet I was on for about a week, which I suppose we all could use. Feel free to message me with any questions you may have and I will be happy to convince you that Dr. Kupferman is the guy for you!

He offered us a televideo conference to avoid an office visit during COVID19, explained what would happen in detail, and was able to see her right away. Beforehand he came out and answered all of her questions without once talking down to her and calmed her (and my) fears. Texted us personally that night to see how she was faring, and when I texted him with a few questions, he got right back to me and encouraged me to keep in touch. He even called when I worried that the medication was upsetting her stomach. An actual phone call. The surgery seems to have gone well. The bedside manner has been great. If you want a surgeon who is there for you before, during and after, choose Dr. Lee. Also, and this is important, the office staff was great in scheduling us in, checking insurance, getting me a cost estimate, and just being kind to us. I had been doing my own research on aftercare (because I had no choice), and when I mentioned this, I was told that research isn't always reliable. That response is unacceptable -- if the doctor had given me proper instructions, I wouldn't have needed to research anything. The written instructions they eventually emailed me were vague and generic, listing foods like pasta, eggs, and cheese as appropriate starting points -- foods that require tongue manipulation and are typically served hot, neither of which is appropriate in the early days after a tongue excision with sutures. The second you walk in it feels more like a luxury spa than a dentist's office. It's beautiful, calm, and bright! It felt like a 5 Star hotel lobby or spa lobby and very spacious. The front desk team Ashley, Sandy, and Johnny were so welcoming, which immediately made the whole experience feel different. I am not always a fan of going to the dentist but it was lovely. Also, I believe there was only one other patient there while I was waiting to go in. Everyone took the time to explain my X-rays and talk me through my teeth in a way that actually made sense. They truly go through a whole process of scanning your head to see 3D figures to not just talk teeth but also things that have an effect on the mouth. Dr. Lebo was incredibly thorough and hygienist Debby finished everything off perfectly; she polished my teeth off to make them whiter than usual. Instead of stress, there were essential oils, warm hand treatments with a hot towel, Netflix playing in the background, and an overall spa-like experience that genuinely shocked me. I was completely relaxed the entire time. They made sure I understood everything, checked in the entire time, and genuinely cared about making me feel comfortable.
