An old school Chinese grocery store, one you would expect to find in Chinatowns of old. There's not many places like this left in Sydney's Chinatown anymore due to the advent of full size Asian supermarkets in the area, so it's worth a visit alone due to the fact it belongs to an endangered species.
Inside, it's not as clean as the big Asian supermarkets in Sydney, and it's a bit cluttered, but the chaotic feel is part of the experience of these places. There's plenty of items for sale though, the usual cups of noodles, drinks along with various other Chinese products.
There's also a lady who stands facing Ultimo Road and sells freshly roasted nuts, can't comment on these but they seem popular with the locals.
All in all, I suggest a visit to this place while it's still here. read more
