The same staff I struggled with was there but other's had joined which seemed to create accountability. I find the facilities clean and the staff generally polite, but the level of politeness definitely varies from one customer to the next. This is observable from the waiting room. The doctor's and assistants are professional and personable. I generally see Dr. Kraabel, but have see a different Dr. for the last two visits. I recently scheduled an appointment when my Sheba showed signs of an ear infection. He had also developed an occasional tearing from one eye which this doctor had observed in May. I suspected his eye may have been scratched from my other dog's tail. For cost reasons I had been applying a human prescription lubricant which I brought in to make sure it was safe; the Dr. made no recommendations. I asked her to take another look at this visit which she did. After a brief exam she suggested a glaucoma test, when I hesitated she told me the worst case scenario, losing an eye without warning and I quickly agreed. The assistant had taken an ear swab when we arrived and now the Dr. escorted my pup to the back. When she returned a few moments later she told me he didn't have an ear infection and showed me how to clean his ears by unrolling the cotton ball and inserting it in his ear. She then went over my entire bill; almost $400. I was aghast, this was more than when he gets the expensive ear treatment. I tried to back out of the $77.00 glaucoma test, but it was already done. It was then she told me that that test was negative as well and suggested a cheap bottle of eye drops. In the end I spent almost $250.00 (with flushes and drops to be filled elsewhere) to be told my dog doesn't have an ear infection and needed eye drops. The doctor later sent results in which the findings showed mild conjunctivitis, yet she withheld that information, choosing to use fear in order to motivate me into agreeing to an unnecessary test. This was a shameful exploitation of the pet connection (a trend among vets) as well as a betrayal of integral trust one must have with the medical profession. All of that, on top of ridiculously high charges for a simple office visit. I left feeling I had been played; swindled, legally, but robbed none-the-less. Needless to say, I will search high and low to find an alternative medical provider for my pets.

Broadway Veterinary Hospital was able to see us right after we moved for bloodwork and a check in relieving a lot of stress my wife and I felt after moving, changing jobs and finding out our animal had this disease. Shortly after we noticed some odd behavior from our older senior cat and they were able to fit us in for a last minute appointment to make sure that nothing really serious was going on. Poor Jude had a broken tooth and was in need of some serious dental work. Thankfully they have these amazing Care Companion plans that made things really affordable for us! He has two teeth removed, a deep cleaning, a few check ups, x-rays on his hips and a full years worth of flea medication and we are actually able to afford it even though I currently work part-time. I appreciate that Broadway Veterinary goes above and beyond for their clients, that they check in to see how things are progressing and answer my questions in a timely and friendly manner. I highly recommend them for your pets care, they are truly amazing and I feel really lucky that we found them among all of the vets in the Seattle area. Thank you for all that you do!!

I understood missing the first appointment due to the late policy, but refusing the second appointment with no reasonable explanation felt completely unfair. The front desk was dismissive, unprofessional, and handled the situation terribly. What should have been a simple conversation turned into a frustrating and upsetting experience. I have never been so angry or disappointed with a veterinary hospital…read more Today I brought my dog to this urgent care because he was pooping blood. I was terrified and expected that, at the very least, he would be triaged or evaluated by a medical professional. Instead, I was refused treatment because of a Google review I left TWO YEARS AGO about a completely different Urban Animal location. That previous review existed because my dog had pneumonia, a fever, and was seriously ill. Rather than allowing us inside, we were told to wait outside in the rain because he "might be contagious." As a pet owner, I found that experience unacceptable. Apparently, expressing that opinion resulted in me being permanently banned from receiving care across the company. Think about that for a moment. An urgent care veterinary hospital refused to see a dog actively passing blood because the owner left a negative review two years ago. How is that compatible with providing emergency or urgent medical care? If this is truly the company's policy, every pet owner should know about it. You could arrive believing your pet will receive urgent care, only to be turned away when your animal needs help the most. The emphasis also seemed to be on having customers create accounts and tracking their information, rather than on helping a sick animal. It left me wondering whether those systems are used to identify and blacklist customers who speak honestly about bad experiences. I am furious--not just because my time was wasted, but because turning away a sick dog delayed him from receiving medical attention. When your pet is bleeding, every minute matters. No owner should have to scramble to find another hospital because an urgent care facility refuses to treat them over a years-old review. I strongly recommend avoiding this location--and frankly, any Urban Animal location if this reflects company policy. If your pet is having a medical emergency, choose a veterinary hospital that prioritizes patient care over past customer reviews. Your pet deserves better.

Usually, whenever I would try to book an appointment elsewhere they would say they were full or not accepting clients at the moment (for dental services/new client check ups). The new client fee was $119 (not including check up/vaccination price). I was able to book the checkup appointment right away. There is parking there which is a little tight, but had a few spots open. Dental cleaning appointment is only scheduled on a Tuesday or Wednesday starting at 7am (can pick up after work). They were so kind and gave me really great advice when I had questions. Thank you for offering us your service and taking care of my dog.

I have 2 dogs that are recurring patients at this clinic and regularly receive check-ups and vaccines as needed. However, at our last visit, we were told that the leptospirosis booster and associated nurse visit would cost us an additional $100 on top of the $155 that we had already paid for the initial appointment and first dose of the vaccine. We were never told that the booster would be charged separately along with the nurse visit. Why would the full cost of the vaccine and booster not be disclosed to us at the initial visit? Why would we be charged again for a booster that is required for the vaccine, which we already paid for, to actually work? Sadly, I think this institution has lost sight of their original purpose which was to serve the community and operate as a family-owned business rather than a greedy corporation. I'm not sure what has changed so drastically here in the past few years to cause such a noticeable decline but this is not the same clinic as it once was. After nearly a decade of partnership, I will not be bringing my dogs back here. For any current patients of this clinic, I would strongly advise that you ensure how much you're being billed BEFORE each visit so you are not overcharged for standard services. It is truly sad to see another vet clinic go down the same capitalistic path as so many others.

That being said I strongly believe that if you work with pets, you should have customer service practices and protocols in place. I was recommended to have my cats teeth cleaned and saved up for the procedure which ultimately ended up costing $1,478.29 for one of my cats that needed two teeth removed. On the day of my cat who needed teeth removed (this was her first experience with anesthesia and her first surgery) had surgery performed at 3:42PM (the office closes at 6PM). They additionally administered ketamine and buprenorphine at 5PM and had me pick her up at 5:30PM (the office closes at 6PM). She initially meowed at me at the clinic, and as soon as I got her home, she completely crashed. I tried calling the clinic multiple times and they were at that point closed. She was completely unresponsive to sound and touch, so unconscious that she urinated herself, and was shallow breathing with eyes open and tongue out. The discharge instructions I was given had one line about monitoring for vomiting, diarrhea or labored breathing, but this was not discussed with me during the discharge, and could be enhanced with a more detailed handout about things to look for during recover. I was in shock, traumatized and spent the entire night crying because I thought my cat was dying. And luckily I had a vet friend who let me know to look for a heart rate of 140-160 beats per minute and for open mouth ragged breathing. These things could easily have been in their own handout and reviewed before discharge so it would have been clearer to me what to look for and when to go to the emergency vet. They then left a generic message the next day asking how she was, and I had left messages about her state the night before that felt like they had not been listened to. So I returned their call and shared about my experience, so they were aware that I was deeply upset and traumatized by the situation. When I went in for a follow up visit, it felt like the vet tech knew that I was upset and yet they kept me in the public waiting area instead of bringing me into a room to ask me how I was feeling. So I started crying in the public waiting area, and was left there while they went back to get Dr. Dittrich. I want to uplift that Missy (front desk) was kind enough to see me crying and offer me tissues and a waiting room to sit in, but that was not offered to me by anyone else on staff that I interacted with. I then told Dr. Dittrich that I was not happy with the service, and she said she would connect with her business partner to discuss options. Two days later Dr. Dittrich called me and let me know they reviewed the chart and felt like there was nothing wrong, even though they had said to me they would not send animals home in that condition. And when I said "I did think you were going to bring back options from your conversation with your business partner", she became very hostile and yelled at me "What do you want? What are you asking for? You want the whole thing for free?" At which point, I replied "I truly thought the whole point of you checking with your business partner and reaching out to me would be to offer me a list of options, as discussed, of customer grievance plans." It could be the next annual visit for free, it could be 25% off of the services, it could be so many things, but to have no customer grievance protocol in place, and to not have a budget to accommodates for grievances, even something nice like a standard practice of a urn for people whose pets pass, or a small percentage off of a future visit, seems easy and standard. I will also acknowledge that they now have a practice manager Emily, who I felt like listened to my feedback. But when it comes to running a business, it seems simple and standard to have handouts to send families home with about when to reach out to emergency services, it seems straightforward to have customer grievance policies in place, it seems easy to train staff on when you see someone crying to offer them a room if one is available, and when I called Jason answered and asked me with a bit of hostility where I was calling from, and I was like "my house?" It just feels like the customer service has a lot of room for improvement, and I am hopeful for future customers that Emily has the support needed to create systems and protocols to make sure other clients are not treated with the same level of hostility that I encountered. And totally minor, they no longer offer nail clipping or sanitary trims as a part of wellness checks which is a bummer.

We had our kitten Ozzy spayed by Dr. Marie Andresen and it was an epic and successful procedure for Ozzy. She recovered really well and didn't have any issues at all. She was provided with a medical t-shirt for cats that helped her not chew and scratch around her incision, plus the proper treatment in case of pain thereafter. We're very happy with Roosevelt Station Vet Care and we highly recommend them to family and friends and to everyone who wants epic quality Vet Care who won't drain your bank account.
