Over the past three years of renovations to an older house, including complete gut and re-do of the upstairs we have only once needed something that wasn't in stock and it turned out no one had it in stock in the greater 1000 island area. In the end we found another solution to the problem with some help from the staff at Home Hardware. The friendly, knowledgeable staff has always answered questions without making assumptions about the level of knowledge of the customer. As a female with both strong carpentry/plumbing skills and large gaps with no technical terms for what I want this has been greatly appreciated! They also have a range of other departments. Furniture, housewares, giftwares, petcare (equine too), garden, paint and probably more that escape me right now..

I noticed another review rated the store on a employee , that has nothing to do with the store itself . Working with impatient customers is not easy . Comparing it with Home Depot or Lowe's is funny , because , you barely get any service and if you do , they don't know what they have and don't have . There quality of wood is bent or broke and paints are normally cheap brands , you get what you pay for . Most Bussiness builders shop at whites to get a professional look of quality . They have a great group of people that are trained and know what they are talking about , very family oriented. Highly recommend Whites Lumber supply and Whites Paints .
