Through the various sites it shows you the battle that occurred between December 31, 1862 to January 2, 186. It was one of the bloodiest skirmishes of the Civil War with over 23,000 casualties. The park is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. The main visitor center was closed when we visited. There are several driving stops and walking trails that take you to key areas of the battlefield, including the famous Slaughter Pen, the Round Forest, and the large National Cemetery. We spent about two hours driving the tour route and walking some of the paths. The grounds are well maintained and peaceful. There are good interpretive signs that help you understand what happened at each location. It was a very sobering but meaningful visit. The cemetery is very moving with row after row of graves and the sayings. I definitely recommend Stones River National Battlefield to anyone interested in Civil War history or just wanting a peaceful and educational stop while traveling through the Murfreesboro area. It is well worth the time.

Since Sam Davis home & grounds aren't too far from us (and we'd never been there) we thought this would be a fun thing to do. We got there & were told that the guide was out with a group & it would be approx. a 45 minute wait. We bought our tickets & looked through the museum & gift shop. There was a video that gave all the backstory & it was quite interesting. Our guide was Rodger and he was wonderful!! We toured the home & he had interesting stories & really knows the area well! The stairs in the house are steep (just for those that might have a problem with them). You can tell where the old cabin became part of the bigger house. Loved that there were so many original pieces in the home. Recommend checking this out!

The Hazen Brigade Monument, built in early 1863, is the oldest, intact Civil War monument in the…read morenation...The NATION!!! Here in our backyard!!! Tony and I went to Stones River National Battlefield and this Monument is located on the same side of the road as the National Cemetery just a few yards down the road from the Visitors Center. Its a monument with an Iron gate and stone wall around several graves. There is also some cannons located in park along with the marker signs. If you want to go on a nice walk with your kids or animals..to enjoy a great walk during the afternoon and learning some Great Historical facts...you must go here !!! I highly recommend this area, even if you are NOT a history Buff, like me!!! IT's Ideal just for a great hour or two or longer of enjoying God's Backyard and the beauty of Nature.. I am going again, and again ....and AGAIN !!!!

Checking in for a birthday party I just assume you walk right into the party room you were invited to. The setup of the cool lights entrance to the laser tag room to get your gear. Was pretty cool. The kids get to run around in the dark. A way to burn your energy and 2 hours of play. While waiting for the kids to play they had a few options of arcade games and the claw machine that seems like it was a tease. But overall if you ever run out of ideas or where to throw a birthday. We weren't sure what to expect when we pulled up but the minute we opened the door to enter we were blown Away. Transported into a different world, like Tron meets Star Wars. The decor is outstanding, the perfect amount of great games to play. Everything was super clean. Everyone that worked there was top notch customer service. Then the Laser Tag room...epic. 6,000 sq ft of awesome space to run, hide, climb, chase...The equipment was great quality too. All the kids had a blast. Easiest birthday party ever. We can't wait to come back. Our 10 year old daughter is excited to host her next birthday at Phazer Craze.

One thing that I found especially poignant is that at a few moments I came across the graves of Confederate and Union soldiers laid to rest side by side. At the end, they were all Americans who had fallen during those terrible days. I think that it is important to remember the history of our great nation. This is an important destination and if you are in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by both here and the battlefield.

There is plenty of free parking right in front of the building in a paved lot. The entrance has a traffic light which made getting in and out easy. The admission price was comparable to an indoor playground. I thought this was reasonable since they have more to offer than the average indoor playground. Memberships would be the way to go for people who live nearby. The main area of the first floor has a water play area, a pretend fire truck, an arts and craft room, a pretend boat, and a room of imaginative play. The imaginative play room had exhibits including a grocery store and puppet area. The second floor had a train room, an old car, a play mechanic area, and a rotating exhibit section. We spent most of our time inside since it was cold the day we visited. We saw the fox enclosure and walking paths. We plan to return on a warmer day to explore this more. The Discovery Center has plenty to offer for hours of fun.

You get the room for a whole day and must set up and clean up after your event. Very easy to find, clean, and friendly staff. They hold public events from time to time such as farmer's markets, trade shows, and conferences. I also come here to vote when elections are held!
