We wanted to refinish the cabinets in our new house- the previous paint job was horrible. Every time I opened the cabinet doors/ paint chips would peel off. Brian's shop is located in a random looking lot but once you meet him, you can see that he and his workers take great care in their work. The process was seamless. Brian gave us a tour of the shop and color samples to choose from-- never pushed a sale. We set a date for his guys to come and remove all of my cabinets (took 2 hours.)Then they refinished the cabinets offsite and brought them back about 6 weeks later (I was without cabinet doors for 6 weeks.) The re-install took about 7 hours/ they also painted the cabinet boxes-- so I was only without use of my kitchen for 1 day. They covered up all of my walls and furniture/ sealed off the kitchen to contain the mess. There was some residual dust and it is smelly/ the paint but overall they did a fantastic job. My cabinets look fresh and brand new. And it costs $5300 vs. replacing my whole kitchen. I would highly recommend Brian's company to anyone who wants to salvage/refurbish their cabinets! Great workmanship, reliable and nice guys.

We really lucked out when we found Valor Roofing (Valor Contracting LLC) through an internet…read moresearch. Tommy, the owner, responded immediately to a request for a quote on a full rip-down of the old roof and a new installation as well as new gutters. He arrived at exactly the day and time he said he would (which I could not say the same for other quote appointments we set up from other contractors). We received four quotes in all, and although I was a little hesitant about going with the lowest quote, we could not be happier since all his reviews, both on Yelp and Google were nothing less than five star. In addition to removing our entire roof and installing all new as well as new gutters, we also asked him to quote new soffits in the front of our house, a solar roof vent attic fan and a new skylight to replace an old existing one. All work was completed in a day and a half and began exactly when he stated it would. His crew of 10 guys were all very respectful, polite, and highly experienced workers who carefully protected our shrubbery around our house and cleaned up so well afterwards on each day that you didn't even know they had been there. The quality of their work was outstanding, and I cannot say enough about how pleased we were with the services we requested, the quality of the work performed and the value. We had a patio awning affixed to our roof which they carefully removed and reinstalled after the new roof was done at no extra charge. They also removed our DirectTV satellite dish also affixed to the roof. Tommy offered to have it reinstalled after the new roof went on, but we opted to have DIRECTV do it directly so that it is pointing in the correct direction. I highly recommend Tommy and his crew without any hesitation.

Where do I begin? Where there was a clumsy, scary staircase leading to my old musty, dank, and…read moredepressing basement, now it leads to a pantry. Where there was a wall leading to nowhere, now there is a solid, beautiful, secure staircase leading to the most bright, sleek looking basement with a three-piece spa-like bathroom. I was a little nervous because I unexpectedly could not be there to give my opinion every day. Boy, did he not need it! Gerry is a genius and more importantly a VISIONARY. There are so many personal touches that on the day I walked into the finished basement I just about cried. Let me begin with the list: He created a finished basement from scratch. He added an egress that is so ample and easy for anyone to climb out of. He added a splitter that has moisture control, air conditioning and heat. He added doors to our water heating unit, just because he thought they would look better enclosed (boy was he right about that). He CREATED a bathroom from scratch. It includes beautiful tile work that he installed; a three-piece bathroom set, an exhaust fan, a special bonus of blue and orange colored lighting (just because he heard that I am a diehard Mets fan) and blue tooth for music! Who does that??? He does. This kind, courteous, good natured man, that my husband enjoyed talking to every day, that's who, Gerry Salzman. As to pricing, I had three estimates. His estimate was the most reasonable. Look no further, trust no one else because his word IS his word. Whatever he says, he means. There were no unexpected "add-ons". The estimate was the final, except anything I wanted in addition to the original contract. We have had multiple projects, from bathroom remodels to kitchens, dormers, etc. My husband and I consider ourselves veterans to the consumer side to home remodeling. In our 30 plus years, we have never dealt with someone this professional and courteous. I hope this helps you to choose Gerry as your home improvement specialist because you will not be disappointed.

Out of the ones who responded and came back with estimates for the project, Tony and Ray were the only ones who seems serious and most qualified for the job. Both jobs were far from easy since I have a very old house that had a lot of slap job updates by previous owners, but they were up to the task and done a beautiful job. For each project Tony kept me informed about cost of materials and what needed to be done to make it both safe and look good and their prices were very fair for the amount of work necessary to properly do the job. I definitely plan to have them back in the near future for additional projects.
