I can see that from many of the reviews I have read. My wife had a flat tire on a Saturday afternoon. She was told that they would get to it first thing Monday morning. She called them late Monday morning and was told that there were three cars ahead of her, but they would call here as soon as the knew if the tire could be repaired or need to be replaced. She called again around 2:00 PM. She was told she needed a new tire, so she told them to replace it. Instead of telling her that it would be advisable to put two new tires on to keep consistency of tread style and wear, the slapped a Cooper tire that did not match the General tires that were on the car. This, I found, inexcusable. She was told they would start working on it immediately. When we showed up about an hour later, they had not started the repair. After waiting another hour, they finally had replaced the tire and that is when I found out they did not offer to replace the bad tire in-kind or offer to replace two tires. Overall, the attitude of the service manager was somewhere between not caring and complete disdain. So much for AAA members getting special treatment.

However, I was then connected to the local Annapolis office. The agent there was terrible; he increased my auto insurance coverage beyond what I said I wanted without my permission and then basically tried to scare me into keeping the more expensive coverage. I decided these were not the people I wanted to work with so I took my business elsewhere. Lo and behold, a few months later, I started getting bills for the home insurance policy through Geico. I called and cancelled the policy and was told that it would be backdated so that I would owe no money since I have an actual policy with a company that treated me with dignity and respect, unlike the local Geico agent. However, I recently got a bill from a collection agency for this nonexistent homeowners insurance that I never actually signed up for. At lot of wasted time and energy has gone into getting this policy that I never wanted cancelled. I recommend looking elsewhere for an insurance agent.

So, I get all of the benefits and perks of a large company, with the personal attention and exemplary service of a small business. We recently purchased a new vehicle on Saturday, when the offices of my local representative were closed. However, when I sent an email to my point of contact, it was responded to within hours! This is what fantastic customer service is! I go out of my way to patronize and use locally owned small businesses. Sometimes this means that you will not always have access to some of the benefits you might get with a larger company. But again, being a locally owned office that is part of a national company is getting the best of both worlds. Wow we only have our automobiles insured through them, they also provide homeowners insurance and a myriad of other services as well. I cannot recommend them enough!
