For me, this year I realized I've been handling my federal disability annuity retirement wrong as I could have retired 5 years ago and just realized it as it's the year I actually planned to retire. It affects paying taxes or none, complicated with SSDI and possibly amending previous years... is it worth the hassle? Robb was awesome as always to spend time in a 30 min Zoom call to help me sort through things. It may not have seemed like a lot to him, but it definitely helped and reassured me in the direction I need to take and what is best for me and did it all as a consult without a fee.. He still takes time to truly care to help others. We initially met with this attorney for a consultation after my husband's accident. During that consultation, before we had made a decision about whether we wanted to hire him, he contacted the insurance company on our behalf. The conversation felt unnecessarily aggressive, and we were uncomfortable that such a significant step was taken before we had decided to retain him. At that point, we felt pressured into continuing because it seemed the situation had already been set in motion without our approval. Communication throughout the case was extremely poor. It was often difficult to get updates, questions went unanswered, and we frequently felt like we were being avoided rather than informed. This added a great deal of stress during an already difficult time for our family. What made the experience even more disappointing was that our family knew him personally and expected a higher level of professionalism, communication, and trust.
