I went a…read morefew times and always found it to be nice and spacious, friendly gym with not too many gym maniacs about so you can go and work out without feeling too intimidated. There is a great pool with a steam room and a jaccuzzi to chill out in after a big work out which is an improvement on fitness first, but the same service is available at the leisure centre, which is a bit cheaper as well. Its £30 a month for off peak, which isn't great, especially if you work full time because you wouldn't be able to go much. Good gym overall, but a bit pricey.

It has such a lot going for it. There is a great range of equipment which is always well maintained. I think the pool is an added bonus where one can go for a leisurely swim or have fun in one of the aquaroebics classes. A relaxing session in one of the two jacuzzis can be the climax of any workout. The staff are very friendly and always someone on hand for help or advise . There are well qualified trainers available for that one to one training. Booking can be done on line for specific classes such as yoga / palates. The changing rooms are spacious and well equipped with lockers and showers which are always clean and well maintained. There is a cafe which has a good range of food to suite all tastes. Members are entitled to a discount on any purchase from the sports store. All in all this gym has it all so no excuse not to give it a go! And by the way if u are an OAP there is a reduction in the monthly fee.

But I was lucky enough to attend a Birthday party that was held in the upstairs function suite. This is not going to be a very good review on my part because I can not tell you much about the night. What this tells you is that it was very very cheap drinks, £1.50 for a draught lager and 80p for a Bacardi. No wonder I was such a state. One thing I do remember is there was flashing disco lights and noise, so there must have been a DJ but I doubt he was a resident. Some may be hotter than others so be careful once one you pick haha There is two pitches, both very good. The main pitch is always really looked after and a joy to play on. Great nets, which I still struggle to hit when I'm playing there lol. It's the home of Groomsport Fc, usually one team plays on a Saturday, either it be the 1st team or 2nd. So great place to head down and watch local footie. Definitely bring a coat because I don't think it ever gets above 3 degrees there.

To this end I played a lot when I was younger and used to like and go play my mates at lunch time when I went to the school just round the corner. This is a pretty good wee snooker hall. There are about 20 tables and a couple of pool tables. All of which are of a pretty good standard. They're not championship standard but you certainly won't weel ripped off and there won't be sellotape holding the cloth together or anything ridiculous like that. The staff are always friendly and polite. Try not to be too weirded out by the fat you have to go through a huge security door to get in, although this place has been robbed a couple of times its safe enough. But don't come running to me if something bad does happen. Definitely worth checking out if you fancy a few frames on a Saturday afternoon or a beek off from school.

Clifton Snooker Hall owes me some of my childhood, it stole many hours from me between the age of…read more12 and 16. What I am trying to say is that I was never out of the place. I used to be in there for so long that I would come out and the sun would hurt my eyes. One summer I spent so much time in the darkness of Clifton Snooker hall that I went back to school more pale than at the beginning of summer. Being fair Clifton probably saved me from being one big freckle, so I suppose owe it one. Anyway Clifton Snooker Hal is now a little different from other snooker halls, it is an open relaxed atmosphere and is a million miles away from the working mans club feel of other snooker halls. It is fully equipped with 20 snooker tables and 2 pool tables in a separate room. Although the atmosphere is relaxed I would refrain from chatting around the snooker tables as guys come here to focus on there game. Clifton also sells snacks and drinks for those long frames. Once upon a time it used to sell Pot Noodles with water included for £1, this probably contributed heavily to my weight gain in the summer of '04. If you want to play snooker in Bangor I think this is probably the best place to go, I would advise calling ahead and booking a table on weekends and evening but during the day it is generally quite quiet so you should be able to walk in and break.
