The food was delicious. Very pleasantly surprised. If you like spicy, there are several great salsa options. Similar to a large national chain, but better in every aspect. read more

Best burritos and bowls in Richmond. Way better than the chain restaurants. The food is always fresh and the service is timely.

I have eaten at Don Senor in Winchester several times and decided to try their Express location in the University Shopping Center Richmond. I am glad that my first trip was with a friend to help make suggestions on how to order, but the 2 gentlemen behind the counter could have easily guided me if I was there alone for my first time. There were lots of selections, but I decided on the burrito bowl. You can choose your own meat and build from there, including several different types of salsa, cheese, and all the fillings you can imagine. I'm glad that I added on the chips and salsa as a side item. This was some of the best fresh salsa that I've had in a very long time and included freshly fried chips. I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to try Don Senor Express, but without a doubt, I'll be back again and again! read more

Place had no customers and the food was terrible and cold and the workers were rude ..

Best fresh Mexican food I've ever eaten! Quick prep to get dinner to us. Our wait was like 7 minutes. Very attentive to any of our wants or needs. Will be eating at Don Senor's again in future! My son & I loved eat! Thanks! read more

So many vegetarian/vegan options! You can get a lot for a great price. The ingredients taste fresh. The margaritas are affordable and delicious. And the hot salsas are actually hot. Customer service is always excellent. read more

Love this place. The margaritas remind me of something unexpectedly wonderful you would find in an authentic little street market or on a beach. The fact that you can create you own tacos, burritos, nachos etc... makes it very customizable. You can keep it simple or dress it up as you desire. And the prices are comparable to the food. The hubby and I want a simply meal with margaritas after a day out enjoying the weather - we're not looking for overpriced options. They keep it simple, which becomes their niche. They keep it affordable which keeps us coming back. Don't change a thing - less maybe the addition of shrimp and grilled fish as option. read more

I wanted to see what the hype was all about but I didn't see it. I came in for dinner and tried the tinga chicken bowl. The place is similar to Qdoba but I don't think it could be compared to Chipotle. You order at the counter and choose what toppings you want in your meal. I definitely did not find all of the toppings to be fresh. The meats looked like they hadn't been stirred for awhile, and the tomatoes were probably the worst of all. My bowl was flavorful but mostly in salt. The chicken tinga was very salty. I appreciated the quinoa and pearled couscous option as a filler instead of rice. For the money ($7-$8) I guess it's not too bad, just not memorable except for the constant thirst I've had throughout the night. And some people said the chips and salsa are free. No, they are not. You can add a drink and chips/salsa for extra money, but it does not come with your meal for free. I specifically asked because one copy of the menu even said so, but I was told no. I do not understand the 5 star reviewers saying it is better than Qdoba. What? I don't even like Qdoba that much and it's definitely not better. I don't think I'll be back. read more

Exceptional, fresh food. Fast service, great workers. I come here 3 times a week & am never disappointed.

Excellent barbacoa, fire roasted hot sauce, best burrito place in town!! You won't be disappointed.

This place always has amazingly fresh food! From the pico, guac, to the grilled chicken & specialty drinks - it always tastes fresh! The staff are also very friendly, and go through all the options with you and will let you taste a sauce if you're unsure if you'll like it. The pricing is perfect. We have never left hungry and if we could resist cleaning our plate, we could really have enough to take home. One of is vegetarian, one if us is not, so it's a perfect option for various diets. My picky vegetarian has never complimented a veggie burrito so much! I always get the burrito bowl, and even without the tortilla I'm so full when I leave. It's really great to have a new fresh food place with great customer service! read more

Excellent food! We have been looking for a burrito place for a while. All the ingredients were authentic and very delicious. We will go back once a week for sure! read more

This was my first time trying this restaurant out and I must say I was very impressed! The service was fast and friendly, the food was great, and the atmosphere was inviting! I had the chicken burrito bowl and it was such a big portion and definitely could have shared, but the price was such a good deal for how much food you get here. This restaurant is set up very similar to Qdoba or Moe's but I personally like supporting locally-owned restaurants and this is a great alternative to the popular chain Mexican restaurants! read more

Fine fast casual Mexican establishment akin to Qdoba. I had hopes that I would enjoy this more than qdoba/Chipotle, unfortunately, I just didn't. Nothing I had here was bad, but nothing was outstanding either. I had the barbocoa bowl, topped with most things on the bar. The portion size was fair and price was about standard. I would probably eat here again if in the mood. read more

Burrito, nachos, quesadillas and salsa are all amazing. Will be visiting again & again! Great service too.

The burritos were very good but the chips were just average. The salsa and guacamole are good but not memorable. This is a solid place for a quick dinner with good choices. The shining spot got me were the meat choices. They have the standard choices but a few fun ones as well. The meat each of us had was very good. Wife wanted to rate Don's 4 stars. read more

LOVE this place. I can eat this for lunch and not even be hungry for dinner. Prices are reasonable. My coworkers and I get food here once a week, at least. Especially since one of my coworkers is boycotting Qdoba, for constantly burning their chicken. read more

Love this place! Been here a couple times and it's always good. Much like Qdoba style setup but much better food. Super friendly folks who care about what they're doing. Highly recommend the tortas! read more

Me and my husband love it! We both recommend it. They have huge burritos and I love me some tanga and they have it!

This place is usually good but went to have lunch they had NO cooked peppers and onions, tomatoes, onions, no fire salsa, and no chips and on top of all that the guy put gloves on and walked int he back and I had to ask him to change them before he made my food!! What kind of business are they running?? read more

Do you like Qdoba/Chipotle but want something even better? This locally owned burrito spot is gonna make your day. They have an amazing selection of various fresh ingredients to choose from, no matter what you're craving. My wife likes to top her burrito bowls off with black olives and red hot Cheeto dust. Not for me, but they have it. Give em a try! read more

Ate here tonight with my daughter. She and her friends LOVE this place. I was really happy to find that they have vegetarian options including tofu in a mild red sauce and vegetarian crumbles in some sort of sauce. They also have quinoa you can get instead of rice. I had a burrito bowl with quinoa, tofu and various toppings. It was tasty and the portion was generous. They also went to the back and cut a line for me which I appreciated. My daughter had a chicken burrito which was huge. I must say their queso was very good. If I could I'd give them 3.5 stars. read more

Stopped in for lunch today. It was so good. I ordered the nachos with shredded chicken and fire queso! I'm not vegan but they have a lot of vegan options for those who are. Something else I noticed was the chicken. Actually cooking on a large grill. To know they cook it in house is great. The employees were very nice as well. I will absolutely be back. read more

I got food poisoning here on my first visit. I was so ill the next day that I had to be sent home from work. On a separate occasion, my significant other got food poisoning. This tells me that it isn't a coincidence. It is really unfortunate, because the food looked and tasted pretty good. Our experiences were pretty scaring, so we definitely will not be back. In addition, we have also heard negative things about the management of the establishment. Can't support a business like this. read more

I resisted visiting this place, I had a totally different picture of the interior in my head (more like fast food). It's actually very nice inside. The food is fresh and good. And big. We usually split a steak burrito with guac, yummy. Easy to take home and much better for take out than the other (non) options we have in town. read more

This place was everything I was expecting it to be. I absolutely love the he Don Señor in Winchester and I was hoping the quality of food here was close, and it sure was! It's kind of like chipotle or qdoba on how it is set up but the taste of the food is above and beyond what either of those two restaurants offer. They give you huge amounts of food for a very reasonable price and everything tasted amazing! I usually get the nachos with steak and chicken and I've never been disappointed, their quac is outstanding and the people who work there are always very nice. The inside is beautiful, clean and comfy! I highly recommend this place, especially if you want really good Mexican food, without the wait of a typical Mexican restaurant. I'll definitely be back read more

This place is so great! The service is extremely fast and friendly, the store front is cute and fun, and the food is delicious! They offer a lot of vegan choices including brownies made by a local business that you can find at the farmer's market, vegan queso, tofu, beefless crumbles, and jack fruit! They also have some vegan horchata on most days! read more

Yes, ladies and gentlemen I have just had the second best tacos I've ever eaten. The first best, by the way, was in Austin, Texas. I had both the shredded chicken and the steak, still trying to make up my mind which one was the best, even though I'm leaning towards the shredded chicken. If you're in the Richmond area you need to stop by the University Plaza and try out Don Senor. read more

The tofu is absolutely ammmmazing! Seriously, even if you think you DON'T like tofu, try it here! And who doesn't love $1 margaritas???

Major praises to Don Señor Express in Richmond! I picked up a burrito for lunch and let me tell you, it puts all the major fast-ish Mexican chains to shame! Great flavor and awesome value. They are definitely doing something right there. Step aside Qdoba and Chipotle! read more

My first experience at Don Señor was amazing! Not only was the staff so friendly and fun, making great food recommendations, but the food itself was so fresh! I lived in Mexico for 7 months so I can be a bit of a snob when it comes to Mexican food. The torta that I had tonight was the closest I have found to authentic Mexican in this area. 100% would recommend and I will be returning! Great margs and Jamaica as well! read more

Better than Qdoba! The staff is so friendly! They have a ton of options. Anything you can order at chipotle + froyo. PLUS THEY SELL BEER. The cheesecake & pomegranate raspberry froyo are amazing! Same price range as Qdoba, Moes, & chipotle. Super clean facilities. I have been there about 3 times since they opened and I have never been disappointed. Try this place out! You won't regret it! read more

Don Señor Express - Quesadilla w a side of guac, pick, & sour cream. Everything is super fresh & tasty. The guac is amazing too! - Mexican Near Me - Richmond, Kentucky

This was our first visit, and we will definitely be going back. The best way I can describe this place is like Qdoba or Subway (assemble your own), but the ingredients were so much more flavorful and tasted very fresh. The food is more authentic Mexican than Qdoba (if you call Qdoba Mexican) and we were so impressed! They also have awesome margaritas! read more

We were passing through Richmond so are not familiar with the area. We had quite a hard time finding the restaurant from the directions on Yelp but we did and it was worth the trouble. The burritos are gigantic! I had marinated chicken with a number of toppings. The guacamole was delicious and plenty to fresh cilantro. As others have said, very fresh ingredients. Spouse had barbacola with so many topping it must have weighed at least two pounds! He recommends the chilli verde sauce. We could easily have shared one if we both liked spicy (I do not). If we pass through Richmond again, we will definitely eat there again. read more

The food here was amazing! I tried the Hot Cheeto burrito with tofu and it was one of the best burritos I've had given that my favorite food is Mexican. The tofu has a very delicious and unique flavor as it's seasoned with their tinga seasoning! My absolute favorite was their fire sauce cheese dip! It's to die for! This place is definitely better than Chipotle and Qdoba. read more

Food is so fresh. The food selection is more authentic than the chains around. We feel like we get a lot for our money. We eat there about once every two weeks. I can see the college kids loving this place. read more

This is the best burrito and nacho place in Richmond. Staff are always very friendly and give you a good portion of the meat that you select as well as the toppings. Make sure to ask for your burrito to be deep fried, it becomes the best chimichanga you've ever eaten. Much better than Chipotle and Qdoba. read more
