I have Family visiting from out of town. I decided to dine in at Don Ramon. As usual, The service was excellent. Our server kept an eye on us to make sure we didn't need anything. The food was tasty. I ordered a grill platter for 4. It was enough food for 8. The grill platter has chicken, Steak, Shrimp and ribs. This platter is great to share if you are dining out with a group of friends or family.

This is pretty typical mex restaurant. There wasn't much that stood out .the chips and salsa was average. But the amount of food that they give you was very generous. I like the taquitos I had the seasoning was even and just right. The waitess was very nice and sweet. Why only 3 star because they lie to us about there's happy hours. Good scene inside and outside plenty of parking spaces. Other than that miss communication about the happy hour, I would definitely go back.

A nice local business to grab some dinner/lunch from. I personally always get their Nachos Don Ramon with grilled steak. There'd something about it that makes me want to keep coming back. Theor grilled steak has a great charred flavor and their grilled chicken is good too! The pupusas and are also good!

Pros: Very clean Friendly staff Upscale look Great menu choices Cons: None really Nitpicking: Water is from the tap Ok, walking in you notice how clean the restaurant is and how pretty the dinning room is, the table are done nice with table cloths and linen napkins which is nice coming from a restaurant that serves good food at inexpensive prices. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I ordered the yein burrito platter which consisted of one chicken burrito and one beef burrito served with rice and red beans which was plentiful and very good. The sauce it came with was amazingly good, I asked what it was and my server said it was a chipotle sauce with something else added but I couldn't understand what the other ingredient was and it did not taste like chipotle at all but it was so good I could drink it which brings me the only thing that really brought my meal down a bit, I'm a water drinker and the aater is straight from the tap not filtered and you can taste it. I definatly reccomend this place for dinner or lunch, they also have a great bar.

Good food, service, drinks and the vibe of the place is lowkey and cute! Definitely became one of our favorite spots! Wish I would have gotten a picture before I started eating it lol

I had a great experience here. The prices are reasonable and the food actually taste good. Every time I come here it's been great. I've been here in the afternoon, in the evening and at night and every single visit was pleasant their drinks taste good and the service is great. I wanted to come back in the summer time to enjoy the outdoors experience, but with COVID running rampant around here, I won't be doing that- at least not this year.

Ordered Taquitos and Steak Taco salad using Uber Eats. Guess what??? We got soggy and messed up taquitos with chicken instead of steak! Bland, no sauce which we requested. Not edible at all. Sorry Don Ramon please check with your employees on how to take orders and read instructions or you'll always get really low ratings.

The food here was some of the best Salvadorian food I've ever had! I ordered the Plato Gordo which is plenty to share for up to four people. The order consisted of juicy, sliced chicken breast, steak, shrimp, and the best pork ribs I've ever had! The platter also comes with rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, pinto beans, and either corn or flour tortilla. The pork ribs are so flavorful and come right off the bone. This is the best Spanish food you can get in the area. You must come try this place out! The staff did mess up my togo order but they did what they could to correct their mistake as quickly as possible.

Trout. The salsa looks depleted because it's good!

I was in the neighborhood feeling peckish and thought I'd stop by Harry's, a favorite when I used to work just down the road. Harry doesn't live here any more, but Ramon has maintained the ambiance, slightly upscale (fabric tablecloths and napkins). Having enjoyed many meals paid for with pesos, I decided to give it a try, though I almost bolted because of the LOUD mariachi music. I think that's only weekend evenings. Another disclaimer: if I seem to be picking nits, it's frustration that they came pretty close to greatness. Warm greeting, cordial service. Chips were only OK, unsalted and lacking that authentic hint of calcium hydroxide, but also greaseless and made from coarse yellow corn. The salsa was just the way I like it, with some body, finely minced tomatillo, complex seasoning, and a solid picante kick, Mexico City style. I ordered the trout, and it was cooked just to flakiness with a sauce that complimented but did not overwhelm the fish, but the skin was soft instead of crisp as is customary for that dish. White rice had a nice texture and flavor. The salad was mostly iceberg with a generic dressing, but had some heart of palm added. It there is one thing that will bring me back for sure, it's the Cuban style black beans. thick, al dente, complexly seasoned. I have not had any that good since a hole in the wall family place I habituated in my college days, forty years ago, and so delicious that the memory remains. If Abuela [Grandma] Baez isn't in the kitchen, her recipe is. They have a pretty extensive menu, with various meat, seafood, and chicken dishes, as well as the tortilla based border style stuff that most gringos think of as Mexican. Solid four **** that makes me hope they can tweak a few things and get to five.

I ordered three chicken and cheese pupusas, and they were a great size. I was nearly full after the first two. The flavor was on point. My apologies for my photo because I was already halfway through my third pupusa before I remembered to snap a picture. I also tried the corn tamale, which my wife and I enjoyed a lot. On top of that, I ordered a steak taco, which unfortunately didn't make it into a picture either because I ate it too fast. What stood out to me was the "shell." Instead of the usual flour or corn tortilla, it uses the same masa dough as the pupusa, and I really enjoyed that difference. We finished our meal with the nuegados en miel dulce, something I had never tried before. I was glad I did because it was delicious and a great way to end the meal. Overall, the food and experience were excellent. If you are like me and rely on Yelp reviews to decide where to eat, I highly recommend giving La Casita Pupuseria & Market a visit. You will be well pleased like I was.

Could it be? Someplace where I love the papusas AND the tamales?!…read more I was craving chicken tamales and stumbled across La Familiar...and wished that it could've been sooner. They put a generous amount of chicken that had this delicious red sauce on it. Not sure what it's called but I loved it. They were thick, hot, and spiced beautifully. The elote tamales were, in a word, impeccable. They offered a fried option which was surprisingly delicious. The steamed ones set the bar pretty high yet here we are. Meeting and exceeding. You have the option of w/wo crema. The papusas were fluffy, filled just enough, and came with interesting fillings. I'm used to seeing pork, bean, and cheese. They offered squash (a touch of sweetness), bean and mint (literally blown away with how much I love this), and chipilin (adore). For context, Chipilin tastes like spinach and watercress had a baby. I noticed the cheese having a slight tang, but it wasn't off putting. Just different than other places I've tried. My only "gripe" (if you even want to call it that) was the curtido. It tasted good but something was off. Not off enough where I would avoid it, but it just wasn't the same. This is coming from someone who is extremely picky about that condiment. Not too fond of cabbage so maybe that's why. Now, the best for last...PASTELITOS! These amazing little pockets of happiness are stuffed with either chicken or beef and OMG OMG OMG. Every bite was pure happiness. It kinda reminded me of kibbeh. The handmade tortillas were amazing the next morning with some eggs and ricotta salata. So, if you're deciding on where to eat today, tomorrow, or next week...come here. I promise there will be something you love :D

That said, the service here is WAY better- not slow at all, they actually check on you and still use real plates (our place has gone to those paper baskets that they serve like burgers and fries in, which is fine but ...yeah!). In any event, the portion sizes are good and the slaw is awesome, we never have issues with the service but parking can be tight when they're packed. Overall solid and affordable pupusa option.

While folks at my table went with Tex-Mex options, I decided to go with a Salvadorian option. In particular, I went with the Sopa de Marisocos, which was served with fish, a whole crab, mussels, shrimps, clams, and eggs. I thought the 20 dollar price tag as pretty fair considering how much seafood was in the bowl of soup. Although I thought the soup should have come with rice, I did not realize that the soup was served with tortillas. I guess the tortillas were the rice substitute. Overall, I thought the soup was very delicious and seasoned very well. I'm glad that I followed the waitress' advice and went with the addition of cream to the soup because it elevated the soup's flavor. Besides the soup, I had my fair share of margaritas. I thought the margaritas were mixed well because they were not too sweet or acidic for me. Also, the restaurant has happy hour most days until 6 pm (or was it 7 pm?). I have to say that I must visit again, because there are a lot of things on the menu that I would like to try during my next visitS. Overall, I thought the service was impeccable. Our bartender, who later became our waitress, was very helpful in making recommendations and suggestions regarding the menu. Also, she was very patient because it took us a while to finally order food - although we did order plenty of margaritas while deciding on what to eat. The restaurant is a decent size with both indoor and outdoor seating. From the way the tables are arranged, El Gavilan looks like it is very accommodating for medium sized groups. The restaurant does have parking; however, the parking lot is a bit tight.

The plantains were reduced to a thick paste, overcooked to the consistency of baby food and lacking in any flavour. The chimichanga was not browned at all. It looked like a burrito, but the tortilla was simply dry. Not fried. Dried. Inside, there was little but shredded chicken -- dry and bland. It was served with white rice (?!?!) And a dollop of sour cream -- no salsa, no gauc, nothing. Tex Mex for people who don't like spices, flavour, or taste.
