Great and welcoming atmosphere! The customer service is super friendly. My waitress was beyond helpful and kind. Very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to recommend some favorites! The drinks were large and fun sized and if that doesn't reel you in, the food is amazing authentic mexican! I forgot to take pictures for once in my life due to starvation but it was amazing and I'd would make a point to stop here on my way back through. Be warned, the drinks are strong lol. I ordered steak fajitas and in-law ordered beef tacos. Could not eat the beef as served since it was so fatty and chewy. My in-laws steak was cubed into smaller pieces but chewy as well. I wound up cutting my steak into smaller pieces and ate along with veggies, but spit out about a third of the steak since it was not chewable. We will never return to this restaurant read more

This is pretty typical mex restaurant. There wasn't much that stood out .the chips and salsa was average. But the amount of food that they give you was very generous. I like the taquitos I had the seasoning was even and just right. The waitess was very nice and sweet. Why only 3 star because they lie to us about there's happy hours. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I ordered the yein burrito platter which consisted of one chicken burrito and one beef burrito served with rice and red beans which was plentiful and very good. The sauce it came with was amazingly good, I asked what it was and my server said it was a chipotle sauce with something else added but I couldn't understand what the other ingredient was and it did not taste like chipotle at all but it was so good I could drink it which brings me the only thing that really brought my meal down a bit, I'm a water drinker and the aater is straight from the tap not filtered and you can taste it. I recommend sitting at the bar over the dining area because there are copious bar-only specials including specialty cocktails for less than $5 as well as $2 tacos! (The full dining area menu costs more than I'd like to spend.) also, unlimited chips & homemade salsa! I've been here twice and have enjoyed the food---stuffed peppers, cheese and chicken enchiladas, guacamole, taco salad, and others. Everything is tasty, presented well, and in generous portion. The bartenders are friendly and attentive, which is a plus. The ambiance includes large flat-screen TVs, modest decor, and a well-lit interior. Overall, four stars instead of five because it has been generally empty inside, and I prefer a more lively atmosphere, which can be a plus or minus depending on one's mood! The food here was some of the best Salvadorian food I've ever had! I ordered the Plato Gordo which is plenty to share for up to four people. The order consisted of juicy, sliced chicken breast, steak, shrimp, and the best pork ribs I've ever had! The platter also comes with rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, pinto beans, and either corn or flour tortilla. The pork ribs are so flavorful and come right off the bone. This is the best Spanish food you can get in the area. You must come try this place out! The staff did mess up my togo order but they did what they could to correct their mistake as quickly as possible. read more

I was in the neighborhood feeling peckish and thought I'd stop by Harry's, a favorite when I used to work just down the road. Harry doesn't live here any more, but Ramon has maintained the ambiance, slightly upscale (fabric tablecloths and napkins). Having enjoyed many meals paid for with pesos, I decided to give it a try, though I almost bolted because of the LOUD mariachi music. I think that's only weekend evenings. Another disclaimer: if I seem to be picking nits, it's frustration that they came pretty close to greatness. Warm greeting, cordial service. Chips were only OK, unsalted and lacking that authentic hint of calcium hydroxide, but also greaseless and made from coarse yellow corn. The salsa was just the way I like it, with some body, finely minced tomatillo, complex seasoning, and a solid picante kick, Mexico City style. I ordered the trout, and it was cooked just to flakiness with a sauce that complimented but did not overwhelm the fish, but the skin was soft instead of crisp as is customary for that dish. White rice had a nice texture and flavor. The salad was mostly iceberg with a generic dressing, but had some heart of palm added. It there is one thing that will bring me back for sure, it's the Cuban style black beans. thick, al dente, complexly seasoned. I have not had any that good since a hole in the wall family place I habituated in my college days, forty years ago, and so delicious that the memory remains. If Abuela [Grandma] Baez isn't in the kitchen, her recipe is. They have a pretty extensive menu, with various meat, seafood, and chicken dishes, as well as the tortilla based border style stuff that most gringos think of as Mexican. This is a Gem in Silver Spring! For the past two years I have been wanting to visit this restaurant, but I was unsure after a bad experience in a hispanic restaurant at the mini-mall next door. We visited on a Friday afternoon, our waitress did not speak English but it was not the end of the world because we reviewed the menu ahead of time and we knew exactly what we wanted. We ordered the chorizo/jalapeño queso, it was spicy but it was exactly what we wanted. The taste surpassed our expectations! Got the mango margarita, it was good. Ordered the Don Ramon Fajitas Mixed (beef, chicken and shrimp) they were served with a charcoal grilled pepper, hand made corn tortillas, rice, and beans. And the Beef Fajitas with the smae sides except flour tortillas for this one. Both were Amazing!!! I could taste all the meats were marinated. It feels like a bar and restaurant....but me and my also feel it's a "pickup joint." Nothing wrong with that if that's what you wish to do. The inside has recently been renovated and the food is good. Having a D.J. there feels weird and could hurt your ears. Let's start with the positive.. Wait staff very nice and the margaritas are awesome! The atmosphere is bland. The building inside is run down, ceiling tiles stained and light fixtures hanging out if socket. Food was subpar! We had cold calamari, which we ordered as an appetizer and received wi our meal. We shared beef enchiladas. The beef was very good but bland and the presentation was sloppy. Not only was our calamari cold and unappealing (looked as though it was frozen) but our food arrived Luke warm. This just wasn't a good experience for us! I hate when places waste my time especially when I'm starving. Everyone knows it's suck to be hangry. First off, I ordered some pupusas and waited the normal 20 minutes as they are made from scratch. I get there and the music is obnoxiously loud. I don't mind music during dining but they treat it like a nightclub at 3pm on a Monday. Went here with my family and a friend. We all enjoyed the food and loved the music. I always worry about taking my toddler and newborn to restaurants but this place was great. They brought an extra plate so we could serve an enchilada to my toddler a little at a time. Great service! We had the enchilada, chimichanga, and steal fajitas, ask excellent. Don Ramon has ants. I ate here on Saturday and saw four. One on my menu, one on the floor and two on the wall. So watch out. I ordered chicken Tacos Mexicanos and 2 Margaritas. My friend had Chicken in Cream sauce. Our waitress did not speak English. That is OK though, because it was a chance for my friend and I to practice so we did not mind. Arroz con pollo, frijoles negros, tenedor, platanos maduros, pargo frito, etc. Also, a young DJ comes at 9 and plays live music - salsa dura, palladium era latin jazz, Eddie Palmieri, Hector Lavoe, etc. The music was so loud I was shouting. There is room to dance and one couple did get up and show off their moves. I would not come back here, but it was tasty. The service was great, the restaurant was spotless, and the food was deliciously prepared. My husband had the steak soft taco fajita style and I had a chicken quesadilla. I ordered a drink while i waited then she charged me for my food again and the drink! When i told her i already paid she started accusing me of not paying and telling me i am lying. Friday evening, the place was lively and the bar was full. I sat at a table near the front, the live entertainment was a little loud but tolerable and the female DJ was talented as well as beautiful. I ordered the delicious fried Rockfish. My waitress was attentive and polite. I did enjoy the atmosphere of this place, the beautiful waitresses, the food and the entertainment won me over, so much so that I went again the next day, the place was packed but my seat and drinks at the bar did not disappoint.
