Very disappointed in Don Juan. I ordered from their menu online and was over charged $10. When I called about it he said their prices went up. Even if they have, that's a pretty big price difference for 3 items and they should update their prices when they do a price increase. He said there was nothing he could do and left me on hold. We went around noon on a Wednesday. Serving staff was prompt and friendly. The ambiance of the restaurant was great. Sweet tea: 10/10 Chips: 7/10 tasted slightly stale Salsa: 9/10 perfect spice but a little salty Queso: 8/10 it wasn't bad just not the best I've had Enchiladas Don Juan: it didn't come with the red sauce like usual but I ordered a hot sauce to top it and it tasted good. I didn't care for the soup that came with it but the rice was great. Red (birria) tacos: 7/10 tasted good I've just had better. Also dyed my wife's hands orangish-red. We heard good things from Locals about this restaurant. We were disappointed. To start out service was slow. We received ours entrees. The burrito and enchilada were exactly the same except for size and had no flavor. Shouldn't they be two different things? At the managers urging, a second attempt was made with this dishing adding a mole sauce. It was worse and unfortunately unpalatable. The dish was Luke warm at best. My dish was the Don Juan enchilada special. The tortilla soup was good. The rice was Luke warm. I was supposed to get two steak enchiladas and two chicken enchiladas. I got four steak. I normally would not complain, but the experience is not getting any better. The last dish, street tacos, my wife liked, but found it dry as it had no sauce. She requested salsa verde for her dish. I came tge other day for the first time and it was great. I came today and everything was wrong. I arrived about 5pm. I asked for a bud light, the server came back and told me they were out. I then ordered a Crown and diet coke. Now they have many liquors behind the bar. The server came back and said he apologized but no one was old enough to make my drink. So I questioned him as I realy could not understand how no one was not old enough. I then saw that they served 2 margaritas to 2 other guest, so I then questioned how they were able to get their drinks but I could not? stopped here during my drivers ed lunch break with a friend. we were sat down and we waited an unusually long time for our drinks. the server also seemed a little rude too. he forcibly gave our drinks to us by sort of slamming them on the table. we then ordered our food - took forever - and ate. it was better than average. when the time came to pay, our server was supposed to bring us our check. me and my friend had to be back at the driving academy by 12:55 and it was 12:49. after a few minutes of waiting we walked to the counter and paid there. still took forever and had to run back to the academy to not be late. i dont think ill be back anytime soon. read more

Ok, so Franklinton is not the Mexican food center of the universe. I was not expecting much from this place. The place is clean, relatively quiet and easy to get into and out of. Staff was quick to get us seated and chips and salsa was on the table in less than two minutes. Drinks were shortly behind. The chips and salsa were good, not great but adequate. Orders were taken and served pretty fast. The food was served hot and seemed fresh. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was very good. It was not the most authentic that I have ever had, but it was better than a lot of Mexican food that I have had in Texas or Arizona. Overall I think that the local residents have a pretty good place to eat and I will eat there again when I am in the area. read more

DO NOR ORDER THROUGH THE DRIVE-THRU!!!!! The three of us ordered and none of our food was right. When i asked for my stuff on the side, I didn't get it at all. My mother asked for her food well done, and it wasn't done right in the slightest. My sisters shrimp was not good. It's severely irritating that i pay OUTRAGEOUS prices by the way, and have food missing and not right. The woman on the phone read us back the order correctly, so i don't put any blame on her. I'll preface this post by saying that I love love love Mexican food! I've tried Don Juan's a few times before and have usually been underwhelmed; however, the food was never just "nasty." Today, I decided to stop by, after about a 6 month break from it, and it was absolutely AWFUL. I had an order of shrimp fajitas. Firstly, the shrimp were not completely cooked. Also, the smell coming from the food was horrible and made me so absolutely sick to my stomach that I was unable to eat it. This was a to-go order, so I did not return to get a refund. I have not had good experiences at this restaurant. My order has never been fulfilled correctly. Very aggravating. I would advise others to triple check your order with the wait staff or drive thru window to make sure they do it right. It's worth the drive to go somewhere else. read more
