I entrusted Dr. J.J. Wendel with my life savings nearly $25,000 to perform a revision surgery to…read moredefine my breast fold (IMF) or crease and lower my areolas , the pepperonis of the breast. I was transparent with him and his nurses about the trauma I had endured, including being abandoned by an ex-partner because of my physical appearance, and I made it clear that this surgery was my attempt to finally heal after the death of my mother and get me life back. I put my total trust in his hands to fix the crease and areolas I came to him for; instead, his care resulted in physical deformity and a total breach of professional conduct. He took my money, ignored my specific surgical goals, and left me more broken than when I arrived. The Physical Facts and Deformity I paid nearly $5,000 specifically for a nipple papule procedure. Instead, my nipple literally fell off in the shower. For months, I sent emails in distress after my surgery before my nipple went down the drain. I was terrified. When I asked for even a partial refund for this $5,000 failure, he refused. Deformity & Scarring: My stomach and breasts still appear as "one piece," as do my back and buttocks now. I paid for a butt lift and I am now left with a deep "ditch" crease extending from my butt crack to my mid-back. It is tight, hideous to look at, and painful. I had a curvy physique before, and now I am flat. Beyond that, I have painful "black popcorn" rugged scars that did not exist before. They are jagged and ugly, extending under my armpit and to my back. My previous incisions were smooth and neat. He kept saying it would be you but better. I am not better, it is worse. Failed Revision: My areolas, werent moved or lowered, which is something I specifically paid for. He kept saying it was improved, but they are in the exact same spot . After a follow-up, he saw me in the hallway and said, "At least they look good with your clothes on." He said it with a smile like he was proud. I sent him a picture of me in office attire with one nipple sitting near my collarbone, poking through my shirt on a Zoom call. It was so embarrassing. I wondered why people were looking at me like that. You can see it sitting way up high in the photo--right breast high, and no nipple on the left. I can't wear office clothes without feeling humiliated. I close my eyes when passing mirrors because I can't bear to look at myself. Unprepared Post-Op I was sent home with surgical drains despite no prior disclosure or care instructions. I was just given a bag full of stuff I didn't understand. I was so lost and confused after my surgery, having no idea what to do with the drains. Now, he has "divorced" me. He emailed me the consent form to release my records at his request, not mine. Because I am on HRT (hormones) and need mammograms, I am now left without a physician to consult with my gynecologist for these necessary cancer screenings. He took my money and left me with medical risks. The Professional Conduct and Verbal Aggression At my six-month checkup in October 2025, it wasn't getting better. He told me to wait until May 2026 for another revision and marked my body again, showing where he would make incisions between my breasts--an area he admitted surgeons normally avoid. He was willing to scar me further even though he admitted the crease was "destroyed" and the surgery wouldn't fix my problem. He insisted I pay even more money for this, despite my nipples falling off. He even made it about himself, complaining that his bills were going when I asked him for at least a partial refund. I sent an email to his office manager asking again for a refund, she had me make an appointment with Dr. Wendel. I did and took my 80 yr old Vietnam veteran dad with me for support. Dr. Wendel was verbally aggressive and yelled: "I don't care how many family members you bring up there, I'm not giving you your money back." AND I QUOTE. He then stormed off. Before the surgery, he was shaking my dad's hand and thanking him for his service. To treat my father that way? My dad did nothing but try to support his daughter. Any parent would.I wouldn't expect a second-class basement mechanic to behave that way, let alone a physician. Conclusion I signed consent forms while nurses called him the "boob whisperer" and told me I could trust him. As a Christian and fellow woman, I trusted them. I have worn a bra 24/7 for nearly a year because he made me believe the crease might form that way, knowing it wasn't true. He told me my crease was destroyed when I came to him so if it was destroyed, why would he take 25k from me? He told me I should be "glad" he took my case and that no other doctor would touch me, which is a lie. Another doctor said they could help, but I can't get the surgery because Dr. Wendel refuses a refund. He keeps saying "it's improved." It's not improved. It's changed, but changed doesnt mean better. I am deformed, humiliated, and out of my life savings.

Every aspect of the experience, from choosing specifics like size and profile to the day of surgery (SUCH a great experience), their willingness to take calls when I had questions post-surgery, even up to my one year post-op appointment - it's all been above and beyond what I expected. Make sure you do your research about plastic surgery, have realistic expectations, and keep in mind that breast augmentations more than anything will just amplify what you currently have, not work transformative miracles. Familiarize yourself with what could happen - capsular contracture, breast or nipple numbness, etc. so you know what you could be getting into. That said, they take every precaution and do an amazing job at trying to give you your ideal shape and look while also looking out for your optimal health and well-being. I appreciate that while Dr. Gingrass is understanding and willing to deal with concerns, questions or just overall feelings of being unsure, she's also realistic and will bring you back down to earth and get you out of your head. She tells it like it is and I needed that in a surgeon. I booked through their…read morecontemporary website easily in a matter of minutes, and they still had plenty of availabilities a few weeks prior to my visit. Given that some medspas in the area don't have a doctor on their letterhead, I felt more comfortable seeing online that this medspa was led by Dr. Hatef, a board certified aesthetic plastic surgeon, along with a board of competent, highly trained aestheticians and nurses. My appointment with Loren was incredibly efficient, and she was so knowledgeable in her field. While the appointment was about 5-10 minutes late, I felt reassured by her calm demeanor. She gave me a quick rundown of the process, what to expect, and where my problem areas were on my skin. Given that this was my first time, I was pretty nervous. Loren walked me through each step of the laser, and even implemented a safe word if the laser ever felt too hot on my face. Everything about the procedure felt near effortless, safe and professional. One thing that isn't addressed clearly enough at most medspas is the concept of gratuity. From my research, if you are receiving injectables or laser treatment, you traditionally are not required to give a tip given that the procedure falls more under the medical umbrella. However, at this location, the receptionist asked if I wanted to leave anything for the aesthetician upon presenting the bill. This sounded very much like a request I would get at a salon and spa, so I imagine the etiquette is more spa here than medical... just my two sense. Overall, lovely facility with quick, no-nonsense service.

I have never met a group of more heartless, transactional people in my entire life…read more Several months ago, I met with the team for my procedure consultation. While I had some reservations because the interaction felt very transactional, I ultimately liked the idea of an all-female team. Three months went by without a single word from them until my pre-op consultation including no reminder to bring the remaining cash payment. I had barely stepped foot inside the office before they cut me off, demanding the remaining balance with zero warmth or professionalism. I reminded them I would be paying in cash as I had already told them before, but since I hadn't brought it with me, I told them I would have to bring it back later that week. My surgery was only a little over 2 weeks away, so I felt locked in despite the cold environment. Shortly after, I received devastating news that my father was rushed to the hospital. I immediately gave the office a courtesy call, left a voicemail to explain the emergency, and let them know I would bring the cash by the following day. Instead of any human decency or understanding, I received a voicemail stating that if payment wasn't received by the end of the day, they would cancel my appointment. Because I was entirely focused on caring for my father in the hospital, I didn't see the voicemail until the next day. I still rushed over to drop off the money, and while there, I shared my honest feedback about their shocking lack of empathy, especially for a customer spending over $6,000. They then called me the following day to cancel my procedure entirely, offering a full refund ONLY IF I signed a waiver releasing my right to share my experience. They tried to silence me while my father was still lying in a hospital bed with severe health conditions, which they were fully aware of. My money felt like it was being held from me just to force my compliance. The transactional behavior and complete lack of compassion from this practice are staggering. It is so sad that a business run by women, which presumably prides itself on supporting women, would treat a patient this way during a family medical crisis. I refuse to sign ANYTHING to be silenced.... it wasn't until I had to go down the legal route, 3 weeks later I finally got my remaining deposit back. Thankfully, I was able to find an amazing surgeon elsewhere, where the experience was night and day. Save your money and your peace of mind, stay far away from this practice. There are so many wonderful options in Nashville!!!

As someone with severe anxiety this was huge for me. They could tell I was very nervous but excited and they were extra patient with me. I have received constant support and reassurance from day one. Jo did all my aftercare and was with me during surgery. She deserves an award. I usually panic very badly at pain, needles, or wounds. She was so fast at everything required during post op appointments with my drain and incisions that I almost couldn't believe it. She made my recovery much easier physically and emotionally than any other nurse I've ever met. My results are phenomenal! Dr. Robbins is not only extremely kind and professional, he has a skill level to match. He managed to restore my body after birthing and nursing four babies over 18 years. I walked into her office feeling very discouraged as a 24 year old who was having frequent breakouts. For over a year prior to visiting her office, I tried different treatments from Clean and Clear to Rodan and Fields and prescribed pills. I was having face breakouts that made me feel like I was back in high school. I felt as if I had tried everything and walked into her office feeling embarrassed, frustrated, and concerned. My face felt bogged down with cover up and makeup. Maegan blew me away with her commitment to treating my face not only based on my needs, but on my preferences. I like to be as natural as possible, I do not like to take oral medication, and as a 24-year-old post grad, I was the definition of working on a budget.
