Our HVAC system turned out not to be compatible with these thermostats, and the assigned technician could not complete the installation. So, we turned to Southern Comfort, having established that they installed the system during our home's construction. They got their Josh out to us later the same day! He installed a pair of Ecobee Smart Thermostats instead. Carrier made our HVAC system, and they now own Ecobee, so it was a sound choice on his part. Josh returned the next day at our request to fine-tune the settings to match our requirements. It's a sophisticated system, but he took the time to explain its nuances and get us in a happy, warm place. It was a delight to work with Josh and the Staff in the Southern Comfort Office. It was cost-effective and good value too. Oh, that we had been smart enough to contact them in the first place.

Yesterday the system failed to cool. I called for service. The owner Ben Rise arrived onto the property didn't respond when I greeted him" He Immediately made reference to my other unit that they did not install. I mentioned to him that I called them first for a quote and went with the best offer. After that he determined that there was a leak. I simply asked him about why a new system would have a leak. He told me that would give me freon and I could call another company to fix it. He then told me I can call his attorney when I continued to ask why this issue was occurring with a new unit and new lines. He then stormed off my property yelling and screaming at me. He then got into his truck, reeved the engine and drove down the street putting lives in danger with his reckless behavior. Needless to say, his behavior is completely unacceptable,disrespectful and unprofessional. I have referred Rise Heat and Air numerous times over the years, but would never do so after this encounter. From the beginning they were on time , through, honest, and professional. My heater stopped working and a Sunday, of course. I called expecting a weekend up charge but no up charge. Ian Smith was the technician that arrived to check out my system. Ian is an outstanding person that I highly recommend. Ian is intently knowledgeable and very professional. He gave me more information about the situation that I could digest. What he did do that I did understand was explain to me that my system was dying a miserable death and no amount of repairs were going to resurrect it. So at the kitchen table he gave me a few options. There was never any pressure to commit. But what he recommended and the price he quoted, we made a deal. It was going to be a few days before they could install my new unit, but he didn't leave me without heat. He recharged me system with Freon and reminded me that my system was dying and this wouldn't last long. But it was something. Within a couple of days they arrived to install the new system. Again, the technicians were on time, respectful, professional, and efficient. Before too long I had a superior system that works amazingly. It's efficient and quiet. And I told him I wasn't interested and he told me he had to tell me about it. If someone says not interested, leave it at that. Otherwise great service. They use shoe protectors which I appreciate.

After years of working with us to keep an old system limping along, they installed a new one at my request. They quoted 6-8 hours for installation, and had it done in less than 5.
