DO NOT use this company. They are grossly overpriced and take advantage of elderly ladies. They were going to charge $6000.00 for a new unit on a 1200 sq. ft. house. Told the elderly lady, who was taken aback by the cost that "special" duct work had to be rebuilt. Confused and fearful of the heat she gave a verbal agreement, did not sign a contract. With her family's urging another gentleman came that same afternoon. Gave her a price that was $1500 dollars cheaper, and by the way, nothing wrong with the ducts, nothing had to be rebuilt. The lady promptly called the Brown company the next morning and asked them to cancel the order. Later that afternoon, as she was getting her new unit installed, the Brown company felt compelled to call and harass her about the bill they would be sending her for the service charge, a pound of freon and oh, yes there is also a fee attached for the unit they had ordered for her that arrived 8 hrs later. Must have been special ordered and over-nighted? Yeah right, that unit was more than likely sitting in their warehouse! Needless to say, this upset the lady considerably, she knew there would be a charge. All they had to do was send the bill, rather than calling and harassing her. Guess they thoroughly enjoyed "screwing" with her by making that call. And by the way, MS. NO MA'AM, yes you can and will sell that unit you ordered to the next poor, hot soul that comes around to be ripped off by you! This company is not worthy of serving the good people of Athens, AL or north AL. read more
