THIS REVIEW IS OF THE QUALITY OF FOOD ALONE!!! I am actually from western NY, within 50 miles of where Buffalo Wings became famous and every western New Yorker knows a good chicken wing and I have only ever found one place in the UK with good enough wings for them to remind me if home... But now I've found another!!! I've been seeing this business prepare for opening over the last few wings and when I realised it was an American Wing Restaurant I was so excited as it's right on my way home! The chicken wings were the right size, had the right crisp and succulence and the buffalo bliss sauce was reminiscent of the Anchor Bar(birthplace of buffalo wings) itself. I was given 5 wings and wedges in what I believe will be one of the menu items. It didn't come with Bleu cheese as standard (which might have been for the pre-opening event..idk) , but I didn't ask for it so I will make sure to do so next time. It did come with coleslaw, though...which I didn't really see the point of, lol! Oh yeah hey have burgers and per menu items, I'll unlikely be trying these soon as wings are now so close to home. Anyway, the opening is on the 5th of November and there is 20% off so I will most certainly be there to get some good wings again.., eventually when they are fully trained, I will update this on service too!

We got there quite early, around 6pm, and first thing you notice are stools all along the fire spit to watch your chicken cook. If you prefer a less entertaining view, there are tables on the back side of the restaurant. Sometimes it is best to have a simple menu. Chicken, a few sides, dessert and drinks. For 2 people, a whole chicken is just about right. They offer you two sauces, hot and some smokey sauce and to be honest the chicken is so well seasoned I didn't really need any of the sauces. It was really damn good chicken. We ordered a side of fries to share - they were quite good when they're hot. There were a lot of small pieces towards the end you don't even bother with. They were okay. As we were sitting at the bar, I saw them prepare the apple pie and luckily I had room for dessert. They brought us nearly a quarter slice of the pie with two scoops of ice cream! It was really, really good.. could've made it a meal in itself.

So today when we were considering where to eat for lunch we decided to finally try it out. BEST DECISION. My boyfriend and I shared a half chicken, along with the butter lettuce and avocado salad, corn on the cob, and a slice of apple pie. All the food was incredible!! Both of us had plenty to eat and weren't so full we felt sick. As if the food wasn't enough to convince us to want to come back again, the atmosphere was great. The decor is rustic and simple. The kitchen is open and surrounded by a bar where you can watch the chefs work (we opted to sit there and observe...it was mesmerizing). If you are a larger party there are bigger tables in the back too. And their staff were so friendly and conversational. Will definitely be going back!

It is located at the back of the ground floor in the business centre, where there was previously a Japanese fusion place. It was totally empty while we were there, being Hollowe'en I guess people had other things to do. This did give us a chance to talk to the owner about the place the food. He can speak Chinese and good English. The name is a bit misleading, this new restaurant is not fusion. It is north east Chinese food, so that means lamb is on the menu and also lots of Szechuan pepper and spices you don't usually see in Chinese food such as cumin. We had seasonal vegetables with garlic, Chongqing Chicken, tofu and seafood and three types of bbq - pork, lamb and chicken wings. All very good. The vegetables were lovely (£6.50) with plenty of garlic, nice and crunchy stems with light oil. The bbq pork and lamb (£1 each) were flavoured with cumin and chili. Now my wife usually won't touch lamb (she is from Taiwan) but she took a bit and enjoyed it. The chicken wings (70p for 3 wings) were nice and juicy, certainly nothing wrong with them but nothing wild or exciting either, just good solid food and a great price. The tofu and seafood (£8) came in a bowl and was made with very soft tofu, almost like pudding tofu, lightly fried it seems. Seafood was squid, mussels, prawns and baby octopus. This wasn't spicy at all, although we did ask for some fresh chili to be added. The Chongqing chicken (£7.50) was made of fried bite size bits of chicken on the bone in chili and Szechaun pepper. It was spicy and very nice. Overall and lovely meal and we are sure to be back. Total bill for 2 was £35 inc. rice, tea and 10% service charge (cash only).

Quick glance: + wholesome Szechuan and Beijing flavours…read more+ passionate "host" + good for parties + karaoke wall - priced on the higher end Full review: After visiting Wing Yip supermarket next door, my other half and I popped in for a quick dinner one evening. Going to East Meets West is like walking into a homestay. We were greeted by the owner with a kind smile and warm welcome. He was very helpful in recommending and explaining the dishes on the menu, and the other staff, who were most likely family members, were kind and attentive. The restaurant isn't very big, but the tables are modular so they can accommodate parties of various sizes. In fact, on the evening that we were there, there was a birthday celebration of about 12-15 people in one corner with tables arranged in a square (rather than long and thin rectangular, if that makes sense) so everyone can see each other. Parties do share the same floorspace as all other patrons, but if you don't need privacy for whatever you're celebrating, it's a great venue. There's even a karaoke wall on one end, which was playing a selection of Chinese and English songs in the background as we dined. Prices are a little bit high. For a starter, two mains, a special fried rice, two bottles of beer and a tea, the bill came to £50 for our dinner, but this included a seafood starter and seafood main. It is worth paying a few extra pennies for tasty food.

It was my last night in Brighton and I had done loads of research and came upon this place, it's fairly new so not too many locals new about it but I decided to give it a try. The service was a little slow, one guy working but the food was way too fucking good. You have the option of wings with different sauces or fried chicken burgers. THEY ALSO HAVE VEGAN OPTIONS. I decided to order the Hot as Cluck burger with Fried Potato skins & 2 sauces. WOW.... I'm not even sure if I can use my words to describe how good this was. The thigh fillet was so juicy, moist and flavourful, the coating was crispy but the breading was evenly spread. It was topped with pickles, lettuce, & spicy chipotle slaw. As a side I got the fried potato skins... fuck French fries - these were insanely good. They were fully cooked, had a great crisp to it and a bit chewy. They were seasoned perfectly. I also decided to get 2 of the homemade sauces. The Thai basil & jalapeño creamy sauce and the Sweet Soy & Ginger. They were perfection. The Thai basil went great with the potatoes and I would splash a bit of the soy on the chicken burger. Now the most important part is after I had finished I didn't feel gross, I didn't feel as though I had eaten junk food! That's called quality right there. Please check this place out! Keep Eating, Angela
