They have an extensive menu a very interesting and fun drinks that I haven't seen elsewhere. Many of the drinks reminded me of something that I may find at a tiki bar. Although we did not try any of these drinks this time, I would definitely come back to explore the menu further if I was looking to have drinks with a friend. The real reason we came here was because my friend had heard that a woman comes on Monday nights and serves homemade Thai dumplings. This was in fact, true, and we split two orders of dumplings. We tried the traditional dumplings with meat, and the vegetarian dumplings. We received.Five dumplings per order, that were served quickly. The price was fairly reasonable. We both agreed that these dumplings were very good,. My friend enjoyed The traditional dumplings the best, whereas I loved the vegetarian ones even though I typically don't enjoy vegetarian options. The servers checked on us frequently and left us with a small picture of water so that we did not need to keep asking for refills. The interior of this bar has a great ambience that I would recommend for a meet up with a friend or a date. They do not serve many food options, in the night we were here the only food that they had was the dumplings. I would be more inclined to come back if they offered other snacks or appetizers. I would however definitely try this place again.

There's something special about a place that can remain part of your life for that long. On this visit I went with the chili (which is a must with cheese and crackers), pickle fries and regular fries, and everything hit the spot. The chili was hearty and satisfying, the pickle fries were a great addition, and you simply can't beat the value. You can still come to Ray's, get plenty of good food, and leave feeling like you got your money's worth. Ray's has been a Kent institution for a reason. It's comfortable, familiar, affordable and filled with a lot of memories for me. After 50 years of visits, I'm still happy to walk through the door -- and I'm sure I'll be back again.

Usually when you drive by this place, there are a ton of frat guys and sorority girls behaving obnoxiously outside. Not my scene. The boyfriend and I decided to pay a visit the day before Thanksgiving while all of the undergrads were home. Brewhouse is much bigger than I expected with two fully stocked bars, lots of tables, and a pool table, plus a few arcade games. Drink prices seemed to be a ad higher than other Kent establishments. The beer selection is pretty uninspired, but that doesn't surprise me, given the clientele. The boyfriend and I split a UV fishbowl which runs $10. The bartender told us it includes 9 shots of UV Vodka (you can choose any flavor) with any mixers. We opted for Lemonade UV with sour mix and Sprite. Not terrible, but I have encountered better fishbowls in my time. My favorite part of this place is the free popcorn. Why don't more bars supply free munchies? Peanuts and popcorn do not cost you that much. I probably won't wander back here, but I'm glad I had the chance to check it out on a low-key night. Our bartender told us that Thursday and Saturday nights are completely overrun with college kids, just FYI.

Why I don't like it: dark, dungeon feel to it, everything's made out of wood and looks outdated. The seating is all restaurant booth style tables so you cant really hang out in large groups. Why my boyfriend likes it: glass mugs (what can I say? He's easily impressed), cheap pitchers of beer, small tables for small groups that want to have conversation, quieter than most bars, and has free peanuts. This bar is good for low-key people trying to have a chill night. For example, the best time I ever had at the loft was after my boyfriend and I got drunk at a laundromat in our PJs and thought it would be so fun to go to put our clean laundry in the car and just uber to the loft for the rest of the night.
