I came here for a new kitchen countertop project as a returning customer, having had a good…read moreexperience with their pricing and products in the past. I spoke to an elderly Asian male and let him know that I was a returning repeat customer. The guy told me the business was under new ownership but assured me he'd work with me on pricing. After selecting a granite slab, we sat down to discuss costs. Unfortunately, the conversation quickly became frustrating. The guy quoted me a price of over $60 per square foot, which I found to be unreasonably high, especially since competitors were offering similar materials in the $50 range, with additional discounts for larger projects. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the way pricing was negotiated. Instead of being straightforward, he put on a performance--asking a Mexican woman behind the counter, who I knew to be an employee from previously, if she could approve a better price. He clearly was pretending as if he didn't have final say on the cost, even though I knew he was the boss. After clearing it with this "employee" he agreed to take off a nominal $3 per square feet. I asked if he would agree to throw in a free sink, as advertised, and he did this same song and dance show where he needed to clear it first with his fake boss. Seeing through his bs, I asked about Mimi, his counterpart whom I had better dealings with in the past. He told me she was no longer with the company due to the change in ownership. However, when I returned to the yard later to look at another slab, a worker mentioned that Mimi was still employed but just off that day. That inconsistency confirmed my growing doubts about this guy. At that point, I decided to walk away. I told the owner I'd think about it and ended up taking my business elsewhere. It's unfortunate, but the lack of transparency and the pricing games they played have cost them a loyal customer. If these guys wants to stay in business he should really let Mimi run the show.

I contacted several masonry companies to come out and give quotes and ultimately went with Over the Top. Brian was extremely communicative and responsive through the whole process! He even helped me hire another company to get my window capping done before they did the stucco. The crew that came out to do the job was great, Bob the foreman was awesome and very knowledgeable. I kept Brian updated through the whole process and he kept me updated on their end too. We had a few minor delays due to supply shortage and rain but the crew stayed on top of everything and completed the job in 4 working days. I had a minor snafu where the stucco wasn't fully set yet and got a little borked from my a/c unit dripping, and Brian sent Bob back out to do a very quick touchup on that small area. A 10 year workmanship warranty on all labor. A $20,000 Roofing Insights Guarantee. Fast forward to Nov '23. After a fairly dry autumn we had a heavy rainfall last week. The roof leaked into the attic and entered my home office through recessed lighting. There was a water stain in the ceiling surrounding the light fixture and my work computer was filled with rainwater. After multiple calls to Allabaugh's various phone numbers I was only able to get the office manager. They wouldn't get anyone here until the following Monday even though heavy rain was predicted for the weekend. I contacted another roofing company for a consult and to see if they could prevent another leak and I spread plastic in my attic to prevent further damage from the predicted storm. Thanks to the consulting roofer because when a different set of Allabaugh sub-contractors (Trenton Roofing) arrived on Monday they found no sign of new leakage though they recommended having the entire square replaced. After continued calls to Allabaugh's various phone numbers over the past week, I still have yet to reach anyone other than the office mgr. Apparently Jared is still out of town and I am told not to expect his reply until he returns in another week and one half. I may have suspected something was wrong during the initial roofing job - the unmarked truck used to haul away the old roof leaked oil all over my cement driveway. I have no idea as to the actual identity of the sub-contractor who did the initial roof replacement job.
