My instructor, Nuri, was not only highly knowledgeable but also made the learning process enjoyable. He explained the techniques in a clear and accessible way, even for a complete beginner like me. Nuri's expertise and teaching style made everything feel within reach, and I quickly gained the confidence I needed to learn. Feeling inspired, I joined Women on the Water to continue my sailing journey. After years of waiting to learn how to sail, I'm excited to be on this path. Though I still have a lot to learn, I'm thrilled that St. Augustine Sailing offers so many courses to help me improve and eventually become a skilled sailor. But I was able to log 9 bird species while there, just watching them fly by and/or on the beach. There are benches for sitting, but they did have the end of the pier blocked off. See other reviewers for speculation on why. There's also a pretty popular Farmer's Market that sets up every Wednesday in the parking lot in front of the pier. It's popular enough that we witnessed traffic bottleneck there, so be mindful of that.

Pontoon boats was never my vibe but being on the water is something we enjoy. When we got to the park to pick up the boat we were greeted by Drew on the water. He's a nice guy and very helpful. He made sure everything was set up for us to ride and we felt confident with our rental. He shared with us our options where we could ride and recommended a great spot for us to drop anchor and swim. Spent 4 hours on the water and it was awesome! We swam and just hung on the boat. The kids had a blast jumping off the back of the boat into the water. Pick up and drop off was really simple. We were a group of 10 and we all felt comfortable and had plenty of room on the boat. On our ride we saw dolphins, manatees and deer. When we dropped anchor, we saw fish and crabs on the beach. As a plus the kids enjoyed driving the boat with me. I know the memories will last forever with the kids and myself. If you never drove a boat it is simple to drive. Well worth the experience and look forward to future rentals!

Someone recommended Captain Mark and we are so glad they did. He responded immediately and made arrangements to take us out on VERY short notice after he heard what happened. We had such a great day on the water. His boat was very nice, his knowledge of the area was impressive, and he put us on the fish. He was friendly and personable and patient. He cleaned our catch and sent us home happy. My dad had the best time. I would recommend Captain Mark to anyone and will definitely be booking with him again.
