There is not an Eggs Up Grill in Atlanta, so this place is a treat for me. My family knows to plan at least meal at Eggs Up Grill when Q is in town. I'm big on service. Feeling welcome, feeling seen, and feeling appreciated for my patronage matters as much as the food. FOH at Eggs Up Grill is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is comfortable. The place is clean and bright. Now, I'm a chicken and waffles connoisseur. Their Belgium waffles are soft and malty inside while crispy on the edges. The chicken is seasoned well - not too salty but not bland. The sauce is sweet and spicy. They could sell it by the jar. In fact, the next time I'm up, I'm going to inquire about that.

Always clean, always friendly, and the food? Always top-notch. We make it our mission to try something new every week, and today's adventure was the Texas Farmhouse Omelet and the Baja Chicken Omelet. Let me just say--both were straight-up bussin'. The Texas Farmhouse was basically the breakfast version of a cowboy riding into the sunrise with flavor. The Baja Chicken? Think "beach vacation in an omelet." The staff is so cheerful and welcoming that I half-wonder if they pump extra oxygen into the air just to make us smile more. If laughter is the best medicine, Eggs Up Grill is the prescription you didn't know you needed (served with a side of hash browns). Bottom line: if you're not here yet, you're missing out. Eggs Up is the MVP of breakfast spots, and we're proud to call it our weekly go-to.

Our drink orders were taken promptly, and when the drinks arrived, they also took our food order -- smooth and attentive service from start to finish. We started with the buffalo chicken dip with pimento cheese and pita bread, which was outstanding. The pita was perfectly toasted on the outside while staying warm and soft on the inside -- absolutely delicious. For our meals, I ordered the Down South Chicken Sandwich, and my girlfriend chose the Korean BBQ Chicken Sandwich. Both were excellent. We cut them in half so we could try each other's, and honestly, I loved both. The flavors, freshness, and quality really stood out. I live in Greenville, and I would gladly make the 50-minute drive just to eat here again. Amazing food, friendly service, and a great overall experience. Highly recommend -- I'll definitely be back soon!

You'd be better off grabbing a box of Spinx chicken and a tall boy. As for the atmosphere--just a few neon lights trying (and failing) to distract from the fact that what they call "hot" is barely lukewarm. Update for the owners response: We ordered the Flocking Hot sauce on our sandwich. What we received was essentially the no-heat sauce with a few pepper flakes sprinkled in. We even asked for extra sauce, assuming there had been a mistake in reading the ticket--but the ramekin was the same: no heat, just pepper flakes. It was mild enough that my children dipped their nuggets in it. Rather than becoming defensive, it may be more productive to address and rectify the consistency and accuracy issues being pointed out.

The Skillet is possibly the top overall restaurant in Spartanburg. Look at the reviews. Look at the…read morepacked house and the outside line even on cold days [mostly because their lobby area can't accommodate that many people waiting]. Honestly, this beautiful spot probably needs a larger location to accommodate the demand. Come here for the Redneck Benedict. It's your standard Eggs Benedict except made with corned beef hash rather than Canadian bacon. Choose hash browns or grits as your side. I truly could just describe this dish and that'd be a great advertisement for the restaurant. It certainly was the deciding factor for me. Dining at The Skillet will be an extended experience. The fact is that they have a very small kitchen to serve their dining room. Make sure to be patient and factor in time for a wait and for cooking. This should especially be in the back of your mind during the all powerful Sunday brunch hours. Food was great. Service was great. I absolutely love this place and consider it one of the best restaurants in Spartanburg, and certainly the best overall that I've tried so far.

After waiting, the cashier said "Hi," so I thought she was speaking to me, but she was actually answering the phone and took a full order before helping me. I also had to ask for a menu because one wasn't offered. Anywho, the restaurant felt extremely crowded with very little space between tables and walkways. Someone stepped on my foot, and another customer asked if I could give up my seat so their group could sit. The biggest issue was the packaging. My containers were placed upside down in the bag, and the butter inside the box had no lid, so it spilled everywhere and was already a mess when I opened the bag in my car. When I went back to notify the waitresses at the counter and ask for napkins, I was told the boxes were always packed upside down "on purpose," but that explanation didn't make sense since it caused the food to flip over and the butter to spill all over everything. (I have photos showing this). The food tasted good, but after everything I experienced, I won't be returning. For those curious about the cost, my receipt was $19.33 and after a $5 tip I paid $24.33 total.
