I got the last one mind you, but that's not the point I'm making here. The young woman at the cash was working alone, and juggling customers needs both at the cash drawer and the self check out. I was having a problem with my transaction at the self checkout and she proactively approached to help (I had my earbuds in lol) even though she was noticeably busy. She even intuited that I needed wrapping paper because one of my items was a coffee mug and she had it out ready for me. She did this all seamlessly and cheerfully meanwhile attending to other customers. It was like she had four hands and eyes on the back of her head. This girls' a star. Her and everyone like her doing her best in a busy job that doesn't pay all that great. Be nice to them please. That's all that matters now is how we treat each other. Thanks.

Store was definitely a bit older and could use some touch ups all around, though you also don't expect much being a dollar store. For example I will have them go to the end of the checkout and bag our items in a bag with another stores logo, and she will say we took that bag from there. Last I checked dollar tree doesn't sell Lululemon or Purdy's chocolate. She also has NEVER said thank you. Just tosses our receipt down and looks away. Now there is a newer cashier there that does not know how to count Canadian coins and embarrassed me in line. I had to count my change for her twice, both times she then recounted it and said I was short. I was not, and if she knew the value of each coin it could have saved me the frustration and embarrassment. When I tried to explain the value of the coins to her she tossed the in the till before I could prove it. It's not like it was a handful, it was three quarters and four nickels. She also told me to grab my own receipt... out of the machine.

I was looking for some cheapo hand tools and the selection isn't the greatest. Also the aisles are a bit on the narrow side. Guess they were trying to cram in 1 more row of goodies. There is a security guy planted right at the exit. I feel bad for him. How would you ever catch a shoplifter here? Random piece of trivia: this place used to be a Blockbuster video store. The selection here is not very wide but it has the basic stuff you need. There is usually only one cashier working in the evening, so it can take a while to pay especially when there is a long line. Another drawback is the location. It is quite hard to find as it is quite "hidden" as it is at the very quiet end of the skytrain plaza. It is near RBC, which is the opposite side of CIBC or Tim Hortons area.

I did not open the bag, pull out the squishy which was already broken, or do anything and he insisted that we did. He chased me and my friend who are literally 12 and 13 years old out of the store calling us liars and made us come back and pay money for something we didn't do. other customers even came up to us while the worker was screaming at us, and they said that they saw us and knew that we didn't do it. So the man made us pay money for something we didn't do, chased us out of the store, and yelled at us calling us liars for something we didn't do.

The inside is newer than Dollar Giant (yay!), but the selection is mostly identical. Not too surprising. Oh, and they also pulled the "$1.25" thing. Sigh.
