The owner is very friendly too. The staff don't shove sales down your throat or tell you everything looks great. As a driver...I also appreciate whatever incarnation of their fuel discout program is currently running (it changed "recently" when Safeway cards were mothballed). Store is always tidy. Staff are pleasant (a few are perhpas a little too chatty at the till and actually sliw things down). All in all... This is just where I shop. I really do think it's as much a familiarity thing as anything. But regardless of where I've lived in this capital city area...I've always gravitated toward Safeway when I can.
