I really appreciate a few things about this place. 1. The books-Often the books they carry are worth way more, like some of the cookbooks. Easily $10-$20 at a bookstore, but here $2-$5! 2. The candy-I know, I know I'm an adult but I'm still a candy addict lol And there are some awesome deals like a huge box of nerds for $1.50 easily $3 anywhere else. Oh and right now it's the cheapest place to get Andes mint chocolate. I try and stock up as you can never find it off season. 3. The cards-I don't know about you but with all the card stores shutting down this is one of the only places to get a decent card, at least without paying like $6 a card. Love that all cards are $1. And lastly... wrapping paper, gift bags and tissue paper. Again I love to save money and stationary is so expensive everywhere else. Plus they even have branded wrapping paper like "Paw Patrol" and "Frozen". Very handy when you have an obsessed 3 year old. In closing, I know dollar stores get a bad rap sometimes but they fill a need for lots of people who can't afford more expensive stuff and they give joy to bargain hunters everywhere!

They are so very, very helpful and are always willing to answer my dumb questions about this allergy medicine or that cough syrup. For some reason all their cosmetics employees are either immature or discriminating against a specific group of people just because they seem to have been given the authority to do so. Just a background on my mother which she shouldn't have to explain to some sales person however she still had to - she's been diagnosed with depression and asthma for many years now so at this store some of her actions included taking pictures of products(which literally everyone's does in some way but hers was acting out on her depression), spending extra time in the store to kill time (again, due to being depressed), pulling her mask down occasionally to catch her breath or to take a drink due to asthma & diabetes like the employees at the store don't pull their mask down to take a drink. The cosmetics person Connie yelled at her several times and FOLLOWED her throughout the ENTIRE store for the time she was there when she shouldn't even be leaving the boutique department and can easily ask other employees to keep an eye on my mom if she's that much of a threat to the store lol. She embarrassed my mom several times looking down on her and making it look like she was stealing or breaking huge rules around the store when no other employee thought otherwise. Anytime she'd catch my mom looking at a product for too long she'd come up to her and ask why and then one day came when my mom started explaining to her about her depression and she told my mom that's she's BANNED from the store not to mention anytime she'd say something to my mom, my mom would always listen to her. She's so confident in her decision in openly insulting and discriminating a disabled person from a minority group that she provided my mom with a card of the store saying to call and confirm with store manager. Good to know that the store manager encourages this behaviour from his employees. It has come to the point where I'd like the store to show us the video recordings of my mom doing anything wrong in the store if she's going to be banned from the store because I will not be staying silent regarding this. How the staff treats people in this store is incredibly disgusting. I had an issue with one of their cosmetics staff being rude for no reason not so long ago and now this. When you go to the check out counter, the cashier will ask if anyone assisted you. I like that B&B prioritizes customer service and I noticed during the holidays it gets kicked up a notch. Annoying at times but then I can't complain if employees are willing to interact and help customers. This particular B&B is pretty much right at the entrance by the Southgate Transit Center. As soon as you step inside the mall you can smell something warm and lovely. All you have to do is follow the scent right around the corner. The scents available for this time of year are Hawaiian such as pineapple, coconut, and mango. Classic scents are also available like Japanese Cherry Blossom, Sweet Pea, and Lemon Verbana. Every scent you smell comes in a body spray, lotion, creme, hand soap, perfume, scrubs, candles and air fresheners. I personally like the wallflowers, they really diffuse well throughout an entire room. Today I bought a new blingy plug in and two new wallflowers: Honolulu Sun and Limoncello.

I also like that it is located right under the escalator to the car park... because after spending $75 on $4 soaps and a whack of candles, the last thing I need is to traipse that giant logo'd up bag through the mall, weighing in at 12 pounds of scented shame and utter delight!

Now you can find a Dollar store in most malls or by the big box stores. I was in Westmount and decided to check out their birthday decoration selection. Although they did have some decorations, they didn't have anything specific for milestone birthdays. It was more of the generic standard streamers or birthday banner, candles, and napkins and plates. I browsed the other aisles and they do have a large selection of items for the home, holidays, and just about anything else you want to spend a dollar or two on. Seems pretty busy too but I didn't find anything I wanted for a dollar.

They were really busy (the saleslady claimed they weren't but there were about 12 people in line). It took awhile for them to get someone else up at the till to help with the huge line up and when someone id come to help, they didn't make a great transition. Instead of telling the next person in line to go over to the new till, they let it be a free-for-all so everyone rushed over to the newly opened till. It was really disorganized. This Dollarama has a good selection though. It's pretty big and they have a lot of good stuff. The staff brings their rating down significantly though.

The craft section is always a winner from glue guns, to buttons, to fabric, to stickers, to paint and more. Actually everything you need in one place. I like to make Christmas cards with my daughter and this year they even have kits to do that are all ready to go! The seasonal sections are always fun and a great place to find silly Halloween or Christmas decor. It's usually tacky but what the hell - its the holidays. The other section I like is the party supplies. It's a one stop shop for basic party items like cups, plastic cutlery, banners, pinatas. Whatever, it's random, it's cheap, sometimes I can't stop myself.
