So it's more like a discount store or a bargain store. Nonetheless, they have lots of cool stuff. They have tons of arts and crafts items. If you are a scrapbooker, you will find lots of scrap book materials here! This store has a lot of party accessories (e.g. for bridal showers, baby showers, milestone birthdays, etc.). They also have lots of mylar balloons that you can choose from and they will fill them with helium right there for you. They have the usual dollar store items as well. It's located in the Chapman Mills Marketplace in Barrhaven, so lots of free parking. It's near the Dairy Queen.

I love their home section here - they have a great baking and cooking selection and lovely pictures that don't fall on my head because they are smartly stacked at waist height (take note other locations!). I always, always find a ton of things I love here, but the prices can still be a little intense. They do sell higher end brands and you'll pay for them, but of course not as much as you'd pay at other stores (i.e. a pair of Coach sandals might run you $80). I love that they have brand here I usually order online, even their hair products like Cake. Winners - I love you. Sometimes, you stress me out, but this location really is the best fo the best.

Typical of Costco, we went in for 3 or 4 items and came out with plenty more, and spent a small fortune. Costco tends to sell bigger items, like larger jugs of Mr Clean cleanser than you can get elsewhere, and st a better price, and clothes at a better price - even name brands. I got a pair of jeans at $15!! They are even offering a couple of different designs of bathing suits, as people tend to go away to warm places at this time of year. This Loblaws is a lot swankier than other Loblaws in Ottawa. They have a fancy patisserie area…read morewhere you can see staff making pastries and decorating cakes. Their selection of baked goods is greater than other Loblaws. They also have a Starbucks inside. Their prepared foods area is also a lot nicer looking than other locations. This Loblaws is huge. There's a big Joe Fresh clothing section. They have a good cheese section. Their floral section is also good, like they have lots of flowers, not just some wilted carnations like at some smaller locations. This location reminds me a lot of the present-day Loblaws on St. Clair Avenue West at Bathurst Street in Toronto. I say present-day because most of my memories of that Loblaws are from when I was a kid and they definitely did renovations since then, because it wasn't much to look at back then, but is super nice now, lol. There is a special place in my heart for the above Toronto Loblaws, so that may contribute to why I really like this Loblaws in Barrhaven. I'm rarely in Barrhaven, but the times that I've been to this Loblaws I've scored some great sales. They have lots of marked down items (50% off) either because they are short-dated or they are discontinued or they didn't sell well. Fortunately for me, I have weird tastes, lol, so I tend to like things that don't sell well, like that wacky chip flavour no one liked, bring it on! That crazy ice cream flavour? Yum yum! And short dated? No problem! I don't like to delay gratification when it comes to food, I mean sometimes packages barely make it to my car before they are opened and my mouth is full, haha. I went to Taing Jewellers (Nepean Location) to have a new battery placed in my watch. While an…read moreemployee, possibly either the manager or owner, did the work a young female employee offered (repeatedly insisted) to show me some expensive jewelry. This female employee acted sexy and was very flirtatious as she tried to entice me to buy an $5,000.00 watch. What made this situation particularly outrageous is that I am happily married and was with my wife, even though she was window shopping in another part of the store. Although I made it totally clear that my only reason to be at Taing Jewellers was to have the battery replaced in my watch, this female employee was very aggressive and constantly subjected me to high pressure tactics with her sales pitch. Upon having a new battery installed in my watch I paid the bill for this work. At this point the manager / owner was very rude and swore at me saying something like, "You're fuck'n cheap and don't have a good job. I don't make any money installing batteries. Don't come here again. I never forget a face. Don't try anything, we have a lot of cameras here!" A few months later I bought a beautiful Rolex watch at a different store in Ottawa, where the sales staff treated me respectfully. Given what occurred, I will never go back to Taing Jewellers. Having such a poor (negative) experience at Taing Jewellers, I can't recommend this store to anyone. The meat guy was great and very helpful.. the variety of fresh burgers in the case was impressive. So was the sushi choice. And the fresh food bar. And the flowers. Everything, really. Was told "that's common but they are final sale". I explained I understood games can be final sale but then they are unable to be played due to the missing pieces a solution should be found. She replied "we can check every game we get" which I understand but again, when you spend $20 on items that are DONATED to the store, how can you justify not providing a credit.
