This has been my worst retail experience in that regard hands down. Besides that this particular cashier was just lousy. I had to ask if her lane was open because she never looked up as I approached. I think the response was "uh huh" while still not looking at me. She was then slow as molasses if molasses could be that slow. She clearly did not want to be there. This store is convenient and prices good but after experiencing their lack of COVID practices in particular I will forego this store for other options.

Merchandise can be a bit iffy here, you really need to scour the racks to find a decent item at a decent price. I was able to find one of those such items, but it took me nearly a half hour to find it and another fifteen minutes to get access to the fitting room. Some of the items up for grabs here should really not even be looked at. Their furniture section are items that will need to be replaced is just a few months, that should say worlds about the type of product some items area here. Check out takes a bit of time here. It appears the cashiers come and go as they please. I was standing in a line that the cashier just left, making me have to go to another line. If I feel like I want to waste some time, I will stop back here, but with it being off the beaten path, it's not a must destination to visit.

If we are doing a bigger trip or out anyway we will typically go to the Monroeville Giant Eagle. This store tends to be a little dirty and can look run down. I almost never see an employee out anywhere in the store. This could be bad if you need to ask for help of any sort. The selection here isn't the best. However I know this is just a small store and I can't get everything we need here. Normally I see at least one item out in the produce section with mold or that is rotting. Also the fresh herbs tend to be very picked over. Checking out here is never a good experience. Most of the cashiers seem to be distracted and busy with their own things, not helping customers. Also, without fail, I always seem the underwear or butt crack of at least one employee. This should not be the case in their place of work. We will try to do self-checkout to save time but often there will be difficulty with a coupon or the scales. We usually have to go and track down an employee to assist us. This should not be the case. We shop here when we need to but this store leaves a lot to be desired.

The small vegetable section often displays wilted or rotten vegetables, so I recommend looking very carefully. It has a full selection of items appropriate for the size of the store. Prices are pretty high (this is true for GE in general), in comparison to the Aldi down the hill from there. Another reason they receive two stars from me is because young sullen and brusque cashiers seem to want to spend more time talking to each other and socializing, instead of paying attention to the customer. Overall the shopping experience is C- and I avoid the place as much as possible.

ReStore sells new and used appliances (e.g., washers, dryers, refrigerators, and stoves), furniture (e.g., couches, chairs, dining sets, and dressers), building materials (e.g., hardware, flooring, light fixtures, plumbing supplies, and windows), and home décor at low prices. The proceeds from the sales are used to build and repair housing for low-income families in the Pittsburgh area. Most recently, I emailed ReStore to ask if they would accept my shelving unit, coat rack, light fixtures, space heater, flower pots, hose hangers, and other items. I was required to send photos of the items to show the style and condition. Two days later, an employee replied that they would accept my items, and he scheduled a pickup from my house for several days later. On the pickup day, the pickup window was from 9 AM to 3 PM, and 15 minutes before the driver arrived at my house, he called me to inform me that he was on his way. The driver pulled up to my house in a truck (see the attached photo). He was very polite, and he moved my items from my driveway into his truck. At the end of his visit, he handed me a receipt, and he kindly thanked me and wished me a great day.

The lady in the customer service desk was very unfriendly and never said hello or asked how to help, just stared at me with a disgusted look. With a smile on my face, I took the item out of the bag and gave her the receipt and said that I just wanted to return something within the 30 day window. She rolled her eyes at me and said she can't take it because it's past 30 days. I said that no, it will be 30 days tomorrow but that it's 29 days today. She said again, no it's 30 days now. I asked her if she knows how to count because it's 29. She screamed at me saying no, it's over 30 days. I asked again for her to explain how she keeps saying it's over 30 days when the receipt and calendar clearly says 29 days and she yelled at me again but this time saying she isn't returning it. I was very angry and just left. I regret not demanding to speak to a manager and I'm debating on going back before they close today. This store is by my house, so it's nice stopping in to get something quick, but I may need to suck it up and drive 20mins out of my way for now on as I don't see me ever going back there.

So, today we headed to Kuhn's to do our replacement shopping. We needed pretty much everything. We spent a good hour and thirty minutes shopping. We headed to the registered, there were two cashier's open. Lane 2 was free, and as soon as he saw us coming, he sighs loudly, throws his elbows on the counter and puts his head in his hands. He starts saying "Oh my F'ing Go* Man" (with the actual swear/inappropriate words). He rolled his eyes and flailed his arms around as if he were tasked with the worst possible chore for no compensation while being reprimanded by his mother who was about to go get her belt.. He proceeded to sigh, smack his lips, and make noises while complaining under his breath our entire transaction. He was throwing/flinging our groceries around as if they didn't matter. He made no eye contact and gave no greeting. My husband offered to bag for him, and did. He didn't say a word in response to my husband. He allowed the belt to sit, so I was unable to continuously load groceries as he scanned. He made it appear that sliding chips across the scanner was the most difficult thing someone could possibly do. He saw a bagger, though my husband was bagging, and he would occasionally throw something gap-hazards into a bag, he then told him, "You're going to have to help me man.". It took a whopping 15 minutes for our order to be scanned and bagged, $327.58. He didn't tell me my total, he didn't say a word. He complained it's been a hour since he got to look at his phone, he said that to himself. As the receipt printed he placed his hand over the printer to force it to crumple up, then crumpled it more, held it out toward me, kind of, then immediately walked away, pulling up his pants and complaining... Never said a word to me as I said, "thank you, have a nice day.". I called the store while loading my vehicle with groceries. The manager, Mark didn't seem to care so much. He asked me who, as if he didn't know? Obviously you have two cashier's only one is male, only one just walked off the cash register.. seriously? I did noting but spend money here, I asked for no discount (though I missed the 15% off due to my power not being back). I was polite, I smiled, I spent my hard earned money here. No assistance, my money from my debit card. I asked them for nothing, we even bagged our own stuff (most of it). We got nothing large or heavy other than a case of water we lifted for them to scan. We were calm and didn't deserve to be treated this way. I won't be back to Kuhn's until that cashier is gone. The prices are higher than competition. I go there for location, because it's small, they pay their people well and we have a good experience every time. I can't say we have always had a good experience now. I'm disgusted with this treatment. I don't know what I wanted from the manager, maybe not him being condescending, "what cashier was it?", isn't not obvious? That was condescending. Whoever owns this place needs to take a look at their staffing and make adjustments or they are going to end up losing all their customers.
