They've continued to innovate into today by offering curbside pickup & expanding their self checkout. I've noticed these changes since shopping here since 2019 & this location has made huge leaps & bounds by offering what I've just mentioned recently. My shopping experiences have improved in checkout efficiency. Even full service checkout has a little improvement as I've observed 3-4 checkout lanes open recently vs 1 lane more backed up then Pittsburgh tunnel traffic at rush hour. Checkout experiences will vary as some cashiers have knowledge pertaining to non-traditional payments like Healthy Benefits (United Health OTC/Grocery benefit) or store credit card. Eight times out of 2 my checkout experiences have been efficient & reasonably quick while offering satisfactory customer service. Associates strive to assist customers in other areas throughout this store. Each dept offers only essentials within merchandise selections. If your sewing auto or home improvement projects involve beyond their selections of your needs. Go elsewhere. Store cleanliness remains above average; they could stand to maintain their restrooms better & dressing rooms with less items & other clutter left inside. Shopping areas seem to be maintained well as I didn't see any problems with the floors furnishings or anything filthy for that matter. Organization tends to remain a problem but it's kept to a minimum possible & kept as such by dedicated store employee's & OCD (Yes I organize things there too) customers. My main patronage consists of groceries or merchandise from their pharmaceutical section. Grocery selection remains on par with Giant Eagle or Khun's offering 3 basic depts (Bakery Deli & Meats/seafood) & sometimes more expanded depending on what foods youre looking for. I love their pizza selection as theirs is unique carrying primo brands not found elsewhere. Same goes with their other foods or beverages. I shop their electronics occasionally & they've begun offering brands & items you'd usually find within best buy or other major electronics stores. Other service offered on premises is their TLE (Tire Lube Express) offering basic maintenance services from tire repair oil chances along with other selected car maintenance services. I'll elaborate more about TLE within their yelp. Their other related auto service is their Walmart fuel station across the lot (I've reviewed them recently). CVS always has the shelves stocked and, if not, you probably will see the employee helping to stock the shelves. With their flexible self checkout, they allow the normal cashier to be out and about stocking shelves rather than just waiting for the next customer. I was quickly able to find what I needed with the great signage. Since I only had cash, I couldn't use the self checkout, but the employee noticed me and immediately stopped stocking to help me out. The friendly service and attention to detail of their inventory makes this place a great option when you need something!

Little did I know on lookup that it was not a stand-alone store. Instead, it was inside Target. Ok... So, I head towards that section of Target for CVS and select over the counter cold meds, and band aids. I then begin to question and realize this shopping experience may not go down as planned for how will they tell which are a Target vs. CVS purchases. Sooo I stop at the CVS counter where it takes quite, emphasis on quite a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge my presence (yes, they see me) much less come to the counter. When they do I ask what counts towards a CVS discount? The answer is what I feared... only prescriptions are CVS purchases. Everything else is a Target purchase, therefore not eligible for CVS loyalty program discount. Soooo, be forewarned if you didn't know any different like me.... I obviously still purchased what I had since my head cold mood wasn't going to hold out for shopping at a different stand-alone CVS. So, yeah, take that CVS... 2 stars for not being able to give me the same CVS experience I have come to expect. They fought for me to get my much needed refill and they shipped to me so I didn't have to make another trip back. I had it the next day!! I like that it is big enough that I have usually found what I need whenever I go to this CVS. It has also been helpful that there is a drive thru location for the pharmacy. For those that rely on a bus line for transportation, there is a bus line (the 61D as of this review) that has a stop by the far end of the parking lot.

I've used another local compounding pharmacy and I actually can't remember a single refill that went smoothly. It was hard to actually get through to someone over the phone, if you did, they always seemed rushed and overwhelmed and like you were bothering them. It was always a hassle to get a refill and they were never willing to reach out to the vet etc. Numerous times they had forgotten to call me to let me know that I was out of refills and needed a new script, they had my credit card on file, but after not hearing anything, I would call and find out they didn't realize they had my credit card on file so didn't process payment, they would forget to call and tell me it was ready, they'd forget to make it... Most recently, I was given a 60 day supply that expired in 30 days. I had to fill the next prescription early. That one was shipped to me without the lid on so leaked out. I had a heck of a time getting them to exchange the medication for a new one even after explaining my concern that the concentration would be off. When I did get the replacement, it looked completely different and when I inquired to make sure everything was okay with it... I was met with rudeness and accusations. I was told it was the same medication that they always give me even though this was white and opaque versus clear. I can handle grumpy people, but I won't risk my dogs health so I drew the line. I asked for recommendations on our community Facebook group and the overwhelming response pointed me in Spartan's direction. From my first call with Ron at the 51 location, I knew Spartan was going to be great. He was so patient, kind and helpful. He went out of his way to get in touch with the Bethel Park compounding pharmacist and follow up with me. He also explained why the current medication might look different... something that the pharmacy that made it wouldn't do. He confirmed that they received my prescription and it was ready the next day. They called me to let me know the powder they used was going to be expiring before the 30 day supply was gone. They wanted to inform me that ahead of time. She explained that they already ordered new and we're going to discount the current bottle, but that they didn't want me to be without so made it and would be set for the next refill. I was absolutely blown away by the customer service. My dog has another emergency medication, one they Spartan hasn't ever made before... but that they ordered equipment and consulted with others to find out how to make. They could have easily told me no and sent me somewhere else, but were willing to do it and never even hesitated. Another thing that I noticed was the quality. The previous pharmacy provided syringes they typically broke before their first use, Spartan carries the more expensive, but but better ones. The previous pharmacy uses liquid bottles that you literally can't screw the lid on straight... Spartan's is super user friendly. Spartan's also seems way more competent and less overwhelmed. Anytime I called with a question or spoke with someone, they never seemed distracted or rushed and I felt like I had their full attention. My vet accidentally called in a 30 day supply versus a 60 day and when I found out, I asked Spartan if I should ask the vet to call them to make the change and instead, she insisted that they would reach out themselves and it'd be absolutely no problem... the old pharmacy wouldn't even confirm whether or not they received a script from the vet. I'm thankful that it got so bad that I decided to find a new pharmacy, just wish I would have done so way earlier!
