While waiting for the traffic lights to change, I liked seeing a store directory. I came here without any knowledge of the stores here. I liked coming here to figure it out. The Trainyards is like Heartland Town Centre in Mississauga. It is a bunch of stores that cover a lot of land. Think of it as a neighbourhood of stores. You have to strategically figure out where to park and walk to the stores that are around you. During my visit, I parked a grand total of three times. I stopped by Michaels and got some good items that were on sale. I was a happy shopper! I then parked in front of the Gap outlet. I also visited Old Navy and Sail that were on either side of the store. I then decided to drive and check out what other stores were there. I spotted Kettleman's Bagel Co. and parked to have lunch. The selection of stores is cool. If you are more of a mall shopper, this setup may not be for you. If you do like box stores, you'd like it here. My only problem I had was dealing with a woman in a minivan who was waiting for me to leave my spot to pull through. She actually honked at me. I didn't appreciate it and gave her a signal to say that I was staying. I was pulling up my GPS and I was under no obligation to move out of a parking spot to convenience an impatient idiot. (289)

Everything is well laid out in sections, making searching for particular items quick and straightforward. The store is fun to explore and always seems to offer something new and interesting. As with most Dollarama stores, you can sometimes find things for a few dollars that are being sold elsewhere for much more, so every visit is like a treasure hunt.

The Long Version: We are looking for a new sink for our laundry room, so stopped by this Home Depot to look at sinks. They had a few options which we are considering. Since I recently started getting into plants, I also took a look at their indoor plants section. It was March and the selection was not bad. The plants were in ok shape in general. No plants looked in really rough shape like I saw at the RONA down the street. However, I was looking for a Pilea Peperomioides and they had quite a few at a good price ($7.99), but none nice and healthy enough that I wanted to take home. They all had some scarred, yellowing or dead leaves. They had some cute succulents though that I would have gotten if I was in the market for them at the time. Plants at big box stores don't usually get the best care, but they are much cheaper than at speciality shops, so that's the trade-off. Plants, aside, this Home Depot location is really big and has all the usual items you need for home improvement projects. The washrooms here were exceptionally clean during my visit and I like how the exit door is a push and not a pull. I hate having to pull a handle after I have freshly washed my hands, lol. It's a bit of a lost art these days to pack groceries properly, so thank you to their training team.

Artemano is a Montreal-based company that sells furniture with a pristine quality of exotic wood (our table was made of suar wood imported from Thailand). The quality is there and is a rare find, especially when you compare to flimsy, cheaply made tables from other companies. Marcia helped us out and boy is she a pleasure. She gave us a lot of information about the table we were eyeing, took us to the back to select which exact table we wanted (since they are all made uniquely), and even slashed 50% off the table and chairs (not specifically for us but we loved her for it anyway!). We bought the the table and four chairs and they told us it would be delivered to our new home in two weeks. The table was delivered on the exact day that we were moving in (as expected) and they set it up right in our dining room in no time. They were friendly, polite and professional. We then realized that we probably should have bought two more chairs to complete the set. We returned to Artemano a few weeks later but sadly, the prices of the chairs already went up! Just as I was about to give in, the manager there worked his magic and honored the original price of the chairs for us. That is quality customer service. My Artemano dining table set is my favourite piece in the house and gorgeous to look at. I'm so fortunate I got it at such a great price too (even cheaper than many other furniture stores for such good quality). The customer service was excellent throughout, even with the crazy holiday rush. I had such a great experience and definitely recommending this store to everyone I know!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Criminal and dishonest, worst customer service ever…read more They have a beautiful showroom and lovely pieces, but once you buy, it's downhill from there... We purchased a table, bench and chairs, spending several thousand dollars. The table was missing a piece and it took over three months of constant follow-ups to get the store to mail it to us. The bench color was off and they flat-out refused to exchange or return it, saying that since we had transported it ourselves they could not do anything to help us. Finally, and worst of all, the four "leather" chairs we ordered came six months later, and were 1- not leather, 2- smaller, with less cushioning, and 3- cheaply made - basically a very low quality replica of the luxurious floor models, which were beautiful quality leather. See pictures attached. The chairs were wrapped and boxed up, and, had we not checked them, we would be stuck with them because their policy is that you can't return or exchange anything. It would also have been difficult to be sure of the quality difference, because we would have been unable to compare them with the floor model. Finally, there was an error with reimbursements and they charged our credit card without communicating it to us, several days after our last conversation. This is completely unethical and unacceptable. Throughout the whole nine-month ordeal, it was difficult to get a hold of a manager and to solve these issues. These are all absolutely unethical business practices, and far from our expectations when buying from a store that brands itself as selling quality furniture. Avoid at all costs, seriously. Save your time and sanity, and go elsewhere.
