This one of my favorite Dollar Trees! The store is fully stocked which means that there is a lot of stuff in the aisle and maybe overwhelming, but unlike other Dollar Trees in the area it's solid. The $1.25 tree is across the street from my grandmothers house. I had never previously been to any of their locations, but probably will not be returning. Upon entry, the store is bleak and very crowded. I just needed two items, but I had difficulty navigating the aisles with the room people blocking the aisles and just overall layout of the store. Once I got to the line for checkout, it was probably a 15 minute wait for body wash, a loofah, and some snacks. Since everything has gone up .25 cents, they may want to look into adjusting the business name. read more

I called customer service who had me on the phone for 20 minutes to only tell me they can't locate my order, the store it was being shipped to is not answering their phones, and until they can contact the store I can't get a refund for my $400 order. read more

I don't generally stop here. I did, and just needed a few thing. I've never seen a store so tossed or turbulent. It was very short staffed, with desperate shoppers grabbing items, replacing items, leaving discards everywhere. I'm not blaming or shaming anyone, except whoever's at the top of the corporate pyramid. Employees and customers deserve better, no matter what race, class or gender. I'm of a mind to notify the local and City papers, as well as the NYC Health Dept. This store Is dirty, dehumanizing, and dangerous for staff and customers. I went here on a Monday morning around 9am. Come in the morning when the shelves are more organized, and the store is calm and quiet. They have a huge selection of cards at really good prices. All cards are $1 or 2 for $1. For all occasions, including birthdays, thank you's, congratulations, anniversaries, etc. They have a decent assortment of food. Lots of candy. Snacks like Chex Mix, Snyder's pretzels, and Pringles chips. Cake mixes, icing, sprinkles, spices, dried fruit, generic pop tarts, and lots of other stuff. They also have a large freezer/fridge section of food with microwavable dinners, Italian ice, generic ice cream, bologna, cheese, and yogurt. When you're not looking for something super specific, or when you're looking for snacks for a party (either hosting, or attending), come here. All snacks are $1, so you can get a big variety for your party! read more

I live just down the street from this store and often pop in for a few random items. For one reason or other, there seem to be a lot of people who do all their shopping here and have carts filled to the brim. This is great except it causes the lines to back up into the aisles. I end up waiting in line for forty minutes for soda or shampoo. Again, this isn't the customers fault it's the store's. I have repeatedly asked management to institute an express lane for those of us who have ten items or less. They say they don't have the authority. Thus, I called corporate and left a message and never received a reply. The store itself is fine, but I'll stop shopping here if something isn't done about the ridiculous wait times. read more

The manager of this place was *extremely* rude to my wife. She and I have been regular customers of this store for several years. Today she went in to buy some items, and was 2 or 3 dollars short. The cashier called the manager, whose demeanor was mean and nasty. After taking 3 items out of her purchase, my wife finished her transaction. As she was leaving, the manager gestured at her with his fingers, "go, go, just go". I have seen him many times over the years, and so has my wife. We have, until today, never exchanged a word with him. To refer to him as surly is like calling Mount Everest a hill. Someone as mean as this has no business in any position that in any way involves contact with the public. I very feel sorry for his employees. I won't be patronizing this dump again. read more

Dollar Tree - Discount Store Near Me - New York, New York

Dollar Tree took over the store that was formerly the similar Deals, and it was a vast improvement. Better selection, better value. It's also better than most of the dollar/dollar+ stores in the neighborhood. It's not nearly as nice as the Dollar Tree my mom goes to in Sacramento California, but in Washington Heights it's pretty much the gold standard. The place is a bit of a mess, and I don't think anyone ever bothers to try and reshelf things in an organized way after customers have moved them. Some items are terrible (I bought the most disgusting frozen sausage you could imagine), but others are good. A dollar for a big bag of frozen mango chunks is wonderful for smoothie fans, and it's a reliable place for things like cheap jams and detergents and the like. This is not a good place for consistency, like most budget stores. They buy what they can when they can, so if you see something you want it's a good idea to buy a few because it may not be available next week. Lines tend to be long and there are *never* enough cashiers, but the ones they have are pleasant and competent (and sometimes out and out friendly). It's not the world's greatest store, but for these values in this neighborhood it's amazing. read more

Calling the manager at this location "dumb as a rock" would be an insult to rocks. I wait in the ridiculously long line for three items, two of which are mistakenly rung up as .1 instead of 1.00. This gets one star because if I could give zero I would. Last Saturday morning I had arrive at 10:16am and finally gotten in at 11:46am. I kid you not Yelpers. I had found out that they had a Senior Citizen line on one side, most places are opening their stores up early for the elderly during this pandemic. When, I had gotten inside the woman at the door was saying to the rest of the customers to hurry up and shop there's a line out the door. I had turned around and said that I'm gonna take my time. The pros about this location have to do with the fact that it's a chain and you can typically predict what kind of items you're going to get. The cons unfortunately have to do with the fact that the place is usually pretty messy and not well stocked. The staff is usually pretty nice and they keep their cool even though it gets quite busy there sometimes. Overall I'll definitely keep coming here but I don't typically get my hopes up that it will be neat and it will have all all items I would hope it would have in stock. read more

I recently visited this store and it's the nastiest store I have ever seen in my lifetime. While walking around in the store you can see all employees horsing around and playing games like little kids everyone should be fired is this store. None of the employees seem to care about anything in this store including the manager and supervisor they were just playing games with each other while customers waiting in the long line.Merchandise all on the ground like a pig-pen. Frozen food that supposed to be in the fridge all outside on the shelf allowing bad bacteria to grow in the. The isles were so difficult to walk true I had to go out my way to move stuff for a customer in a walker to walk true. I kinda like coming to this place. Thy have everything you want for your event, home or classroom for cheap. If you live by the area, I highly recommend for you to stop by this place. They do not get a full five because lines can get really long and the cashier always seems to make a mistake with either over charging you or he/she is too damn slow. Terrible Dollar Tree location. They randomly close an hour+ early. If you are trying to get there after work don't bother. It's not worth your time. Selection is limited. Boxes stacked in aisles. Would give -5 stars if possible. Absolutely the worst store I've ever been in. It's a mess, no staff to be found, and if you can find someone, they're extremely rude. Looking for plates and supplies for a party during grad weekend (they're only 20 blocks from a college campus) and all the carts from a shipment are blocking the ENTIRE ISLE. They didn't spread them out so you could at least walk down and reach around things. When I asked a staff member if it was possible to move them or help me he said "no it's closed" before I even finished my sentence. No sorry, nothing. Just "it's closed." He didn't even stop walking to actually engage with me. And if that wasn't enough, the locked one of the doors a full 2 hours before the store closed, making it seem like I couldn't get out. I generally enjoy shopping at Dollar Tree, but this particular store is disgusting. Two aisles were impossible to navigate because something had spilled and management here thought it adequate to cover the spill with cardboard instead of having it cleaned up. The cardboard was soaked and there was no effort to mop up. Another aisle was partially blocked with dollies full of unpacked merchandise boxes. Anyone on the floor unpacking and stocking shelves? Of course not. And another aisle with greeting cards and party supplies was complete closed and totally inaccessible because of massive amounts boxed merchandise. This was all around midday - not early in the morning when the store was being set up for the day. I then made the mistake of asking to speak to a manager. This lame excuse for a manager came out with an attitude. I probably disturbed her break. I asked her when the cards would be available. Her curt answer: "This afternoon. Or come back tomorrow." And she turned and walked away. End of conversation. No asking if she could help me in any way, no apologies. She needs either some lessons in customer service or a different job. Just one more note - I strongly agree with the reviewer who noted the long lines and not enough cashiers. That's why I NEVER go after 2:30 pm when school gets out, and NEVER on weekends. Waiting on a cashier line can become a career at those times. This store is one to avoid. read more
