Big problem lacking customer service skills especially one particular tall guy with glasses. He'd rather win a dispute over 50 cents overcharge and price not marked on shelf then try to make a customer happy. I spend quite a bit of money in there, more than I should. But this was my last time going there. I hope others don't keep taking their abuse, there are other dollar trees to go to where they have good customer service and workers are pleasant. read more

Before I begin, let me say that I write this review with full understanding that the Dollar Tree isn't the fanciest of retail store outlets. I'm not a germaphobe, nor am I obsessed with cleanliness, especially while shopping at ANY discount retail chain. But the lavatory at this particular Dollar Tree in Malden was the most filthy, disgusting public bathroom I've ever witnessed. Trash was overflowing from the overfilled plastic bin and spilling onto the floor. The toilet area was strewn with debris, including no less than 7 EMPTY paper towel rolls. Aside the toilet were two ominous looking black buckets - one was dirty and empty, but the other bucket was half full of slimy standing water, with trash floating in it! The sink area was equally squalid, with large stains on the walls, a rusty dripping faucet, and an empty paper towel dispenser. And this isn't a case of the store being too busy for one day and someone forgetting to restock. This type of 'dirty' is foul, grimy, and nasty - gradually accumulated from carelessness and neglect for a long time. Whomever manages this location should be ashamed for allowing the bathroom to get this trashed. And not only for allowing the public to see it, but for making Dollar Tree employees work in such a nasty environment. The final kicker? The bathroom is located at the end of the cleaning supply aisle - literally hundreds of cleaning products a few feet away from the world's most disgusting lavatory ever. Who doesnt love Dollar Tree, but up until now all the ones I have visited have been somewhat Junk (for lack of a better term) I mean I love Dollar Tree, dont get me wrong, but this one was HUGE... They had soo much stuff... Very pleased & will prolly make this my Go-To $$ Tree from now on... The 3 stars is because I was there Thursday night before Easter & there was ONE, (OOONNNEEEE) Register Open, the line was curled all the way back around to the door & their were other employees just sitting around near the register (One scrolling through her phone - reading off all the text messages some boy sent her - the other talking about how she thinks her BF is cheating)... If I didnt spend almost an hour in the store shopping, I would have left my stuff right there & walked out... Other than the checkout it was a decent experience, and Im hoping it will be a one time thing! read more

If it was possible to give 0 stars, I would. I stopped by today for my first and last time ever. There was a line of about 10 people in front of the store. Signs at the door were confusing- one sign said max of 10 people at a time, the other said 25. Sadly it was the max of 10. While I was waiting in line, an employee came out for his smoke break. He smoked not one but two cigarettes right by the line- so the smoke went in the faces of everyone in line. He seemed not to notice/care. He left both cigarette butts on the ground (littering) and then went back to the cash register- without washing his hands. Disgusting. I have a picture of the employee and his id number/name, if management is interested. Poor selection inside the store and multiple employees hanging out talking. Highly recommend not going- or if you go, wear a full hazmat suit. read more

OK, I have a confession. This is my GO-TO store for Christmas schtuff for the house. Cheap, easy to find and plenty of it.....all important when shopping for holiday crap!! I wouldn't say I buy a ton of other things at the Dollar Store, maybe some toilet paper when in a pinch and don't want to run to BJ's. The store overall holds on its own in terms of selection and I don't see a lot of empty shelves or out of place items. I even got decent stocking stuffers for gifts and didn't feel embarrassed by them, well maybe a few. Others have had bad experiences with the staff here, I can't think of any incidents off the top of my head and most have been courteous to me. It's still not going to get a 5-star review because the often riddled complaint is lack of aisles open when looking to get in and out in a hurry. It's a busy location on a busy road, staff it appropriately. read more

Great dollar store- they are always stocked in items and it is fairly organized. Associates are helpful and seem to be ahead of cleaning any messes customers might makes. Also great for shopping any upcoming holidays! read more

My husband was a devoted employee for 8 years at the Dollar tree store, he recently passed away and after his devotion and through his sickness and he knew he was dying I begged him not to go in there day after day because he was a devoted employee , he pushed himself everyday to go into work even though it was a very little job he remainedfaithful to the store and the company is shocking to me that they did not remember him in his death not a card flowers nothing to honor his memory through me!for some reason I thought the Dollar tree store had a little more class than that but apparently I was wrong he did everything for that store and everything for the management and people who worked in there as well customers appreciated him very much so but not the insensitive rotten lousy management! read more

There are some good finds to be had here but most of the staff are incredibly unprofessional. I would say that the supervisors should tell them to save the swearing and talking crap about their coworkers except that the bad behavior includes the managers. read more

If you are looking for anything and nothing in particular then this is the place. As Dollar stores go this one is pretty darn big. Has everything from A to Z. We went looking for pipe cleaners because we didn't want to drive all the way to the craft store. Unfortunately they didn't have them but we found a substitute. And that is what makes the Dollar Tree a great store. Lots of useless, semi useful and very useful items for cheap prices. read more

This store is useful for quick cheap needs such as place mats for my cats food dishes, the cat food dishes themselves, and gift bags and the stuffing paper. Overall however this place is vile and when I was in the store on Sunday I was absolutely disgusted as their was a literally giant turd in the back of the store on the floor in front of the frozen items. While I'm revolted that someone would even do that in the store (I work in vet med...it was not a dog turd) and I'm sure the employees didn't sign up to clean up something like that, it is also their job to prevent that from happening, they still are responsible to clean it up. Lastly as I was checking out and it was a long line, when I got up to the register and was about to have my items rung up, the cashier let someone cut me in line to process their items first. I believe they were friends from the familiarity in their conversation but it was just rude. read more

The product is what you'd find in any regular Dollar Tree. It was a little dirty and run down though. Like...where am I dirty. The doors were all taped together with layers and layers of electrical tape. Not a good first impression but the lines were short. read more

This place is awesome. A true dollar store! I stop in on occasion to look for wine glasses. They usually have glass champagne flutes and great wine glasses for yes, a dollar! Also a great place to pick up party paper supplies! read more

Just happen to be in the store picking up a few last minute things last night, when I overheard a store employee state that it was her time to leave. What had transpired next was almost unbelievable. The woman was getting her things ready to leave when she contacted the supervisor and stated it was time for her to leave he then in return told her she was not leaving and he would tell her when she was leaving. If I remember correctly I think she said she had to pick up her young son at daycare. At this point this supervisor whom I believe his name was Adam continued to act in an irate manner, yelling from across the way to which then the employee ultimately started to engage in. This manager/ supervisor acted completely unprofessional not only to his employee but as the entire store watched and listened for about 15 minutes as this event proceeded.
