I urge everyone to give them a try and support a local business that has resided on Main Street for over 20 years. It is one of the few true businesses remaining, so you know their doing something right! Easy parking right in front and handicapped accessible too.

AGAIN, I had to deal with…read morethe "Mask Police", as soon as I entered Federal Street Books, the woman (behind a 4 foot high clear plexiglass shield) informed me it's a requirement to have a mask on while in the store. Fine, I complied, just wanted to find some books and get going. I did snag two paperbacks I wanted to purchase, but the same "Mask Cop" was having issues with a customer before me, with the cc machine. So I waited, and waited some more, while suffocating wearing a "face diaper". All that for two paperbacks for around $5 and change, unbelievable. The weird thing about today's "Used bookstore trail in MASS" was that the only books I purchased were at the "mask required" shops, maybe that's because the type of people who purchase the books I'm interested in don't put up with this nonsense ? Well, I put up with the nonsense, and walked away with a few Used paperback deals ! I work in the healthcare industry, and have not worn a mask for a good number of years now. Why these bookstores are requiring masks is beyond my understanding, it's a MYSTERY...I just don't do that genre !

My original thoughts were that I would walk into a traditional package store that sold the basic beer, cigarettes, sodas, and frozen meals. I was surprised that when I walked in, the store had some of the basics like soda and snacks, but they also had a clothing section, case of smoking pipes and some unique Hispanic food items. At this store they had different types of beans and canned products. They also had a few different types of "Masa" of corn meal which is found in traditional Hispanic cuisine. The only issues was that the prices were a bit obnoxious, but this is typical of any convenience store. Case and point, I bought a can of jalapenos which was marked at $3.99. When I pulled off the sticker, it had originally been priced at $2.99. They just relabeled the can. In the end, this store is lacking in many different areas, and is not typical of a local area convenience store. The person at the register was polite, but seemed thrown off when I said hello to him.

I let them know I was trying to buy some milk for my child and they were very understanding and reopened the store so that I could get what I needed. The friendly staff helped me out and called me the next day with an estimate and a timeframe. Although it would take about a month, I appreciated the time and attention for my project. Not only did Imagine Jewelers find and install a replacement diamond chip, but they also repaired multiple tiny prongs around other diamond chips to make this family heirloom as good as new, and now, in a size that I can wear! AND all of the assorted ephemera. (Dice, mats, bags and storage, minis, paint, tools...) The staff is delightful. Always very friendly. They have gaming space, and models to play on. They have some snacks and drinks. The store is clean and organized. They are inclusive of all people. (don't be a dick) I've played many games here. I've been to a few of their anniversary parties and auctions. I buy my D&D books here on the regular. (And minis.) (And dice) I make a special trip up when I can. Come support this store! It's worth it. And it's one of the last ones we've got!

I brought it back to return and the worker told me they have a no refund policy and pointed to a sign I didn't see when I checked out. I showed the worked the stain and said, don't you have a no stain policy? The worker said no, it's your responsibility to fully check over the item before purchasing. That sure would have been nice to know BEFORE I bought anything! I can't even donate these pants to the Salvation Army because THEY have a no stain policy. I will never shop here again. You can get higher quality items at free clothing closets. Save your money.

We were there well over an hour and purchased a painting and a vintage firefighter's dress hat (cover) from the area. Friendly staff offered help and pointed out the doorbell by the staircase to use if we needed help and no one was around. It was clean, organized and there were vendors in some of the booths refreshing their inventory. Free on-street parking today (Sunday) made it easy too. We would stop back when in the area again.
