Today's visit was exceptional. Wow! I'm impressed at how neat and organized things were. The employees here took the time to organize everything--so I hope the customers will put them back the same way. The cashiers in the morning shift 4/25/23 @ 9am were also really super friendly and nice. Every customer that walked in were welcomed with super energetic vibe. They have a cool selection. The clientele when I was there was a little bit sketchy, the cashier was upset when I went because someone walked out without paying. The value is good! A ton of candy and chips around $1.25 or $2. A great place to get munchies. They always have fun seasonal items too. Maybe one day I'll come back and give them a 3rd star, but that sketchy dude with the tats mean mugging everyone and walking out without paying dropped them a star (I know it's not totally their fault). read more

Dollar tree had many nice things inside especially greeting cards and gift bags. Well those are the items that we usually go in for. I have walked around the store and I do have to say they have plenty of goof things from can goods, cleaning products, all kinds of things. Overall the store is good and should deserve a higher star grading however the downside is usually the staffing. This is where the store lacks, but then again, one must look at the quality of people the staff are helping, lol myself included. Very unprofessional! Customer Service is inappropriate. Employees were using profanity. Employees appearance was not appropriate her clothes was sagging. The store wasn't in order. There were no shopping baskets. I ask if there anymore the employee said she didn't know and walked away. While at the check out the cashier didn't offer if I need bags and I had a big purchase. I drive through here almost everyday, so I know it's here. However, I"m not sure why it took me so long to check them out. (I go to their competition all the time, and I'm all about comparing, so I have zero explanation why it took years - if not decades - to finally come through.) I guess one reason for that is because of the no-access via 162nd (I'd have to go around.) But forget all that, I finally decided to drop by. I came through because I needed to pick up a few gardening items for my Mom, and boy, do they have a serious selection here! They also had everything Mom needed so those were great scores! Since it was my first time, I decided to go aisle-by-aisle. I started picking up stuff I didn't even know I needed and filled up my basket in no time! They also have a limited amount of food available. I was a little strapped for time so I didn't really get the chance to go through all of that. But I will get that chance because I plan on coming back. Got inline to pay and I overheard the cashier say, "$28..." and change tab for the person ahead of me. My immediate thought was, "Who spends that much at a dollar store?!" But I'm almost embarrassed to say mine was almost twice as much. [Insert chuckle here.] There was only one cashier working but she was friendly and welcoming. They have their own private parking lot, so if you time it, might not be an issue. Today I stopped by for some balloons for my mother's 50th Birthday. As I walked in the employees greeted everyone walking inside. I was assisted pretty quickly and thankfully most of the balloons I was looking for were available. I've noticed that the lines are a lot shorter or closer to no line in the mornings, before 11 AM. It's a Dollar Tree so my expectations are pretty low walking in. I came in for greeting cards which I found so no complaints there. My loudest complaint would be with the unsanitary conditions of the soda fridge located at the check-out stand. The fridge was mostly empty of bottles but instead offered a clear view of the dirt, grime and mold growing within. One look let me know that I would NEVER be purchasing food or drink from this store. The other issue I had with the store was the lack of service. When I got into the line, there was one person in front of me and one person in front of him. The lady at the front of the line was getting balloons which apparently takes three staff members and an hour to complete. Finally, one of the staff members came over to open another register. Rather then tell the next person in line to come over, they just opened the lane and all of the people at the back of our line turned into the first people in the next lane. Mind you, our girl was still handling the balloons. After about five people went through the other lane I finally got wise and switched over to that line. As others have mentioned, the manager Alondra is incredibly rude and should not be in the front working with customers. Today around 4 pm, I was shopping at this dollar tree store. As I often do. I was a very disappointed because the cashier accused me of paying with a counterfeit $20.00. Neither the cashier or the so called "supervisor " were helpful in this ordeal. After I personally called the police. then after a while of back and forth. They finally gave me my change. This location is awful! The employees are less than friendly and checkout takes forever!!! No matter how crowded the store is, they only open one check stand. The line may extend completely up the isle and they still don't open up another check stand! In fact, while I was there, the line extended all the way up the isle and around to the next isle. This place really needs to step up their game, from the outside to the inside! Parking lot is full of trash and not to mention very dirty makes you think twice about going inside. Then you get inside and this store if just as bad. Customer service is very poor, If you don't like what you do then quit! This place is always out of stock of everything. I walked into the store and noticed that there were no carts in sight. I walked outside to find an empty lot and empty cart stable. When I walked back in, I saw a cart with 3 small boxes (slightly larger than my hand) at an end cap. There was no one around so I took the boxes and placed them on the shelf. As I was walking away, an employee yelled after me "That's my cart!". I turned around and explained that there were no more carts and that I needed it to do my shopping. She proceeded to tell me that the cart was hers and that I could not have it. I explained myself again and walked away. She yelled after me multiple times that I needed to return it when I was done shopping. About 10-15 minutes later, the woman came with Alondra while I was shopping at the opposite end of the store. Alondra proceeded to repeat what the other woman yelled at my back earlier; to return the cart when I was finished. I could only respond "ok" since I was in shock that I was followed and now being harassed about a shopping cart. There was no need for Alondra to be involved nor should I have been harassed a second time. Both women intentionally came to seek me in the store. When it was agreed upon that I would return the cart to its "original location", I let Alondra know that it is rude to be told that I could not have a cart. Her response was "Its rude that you took the cart!". At this point I was completely taken aback at the lack of customer service by both women. I responded that if there are not any carts, then an associate should collect them for the customers. She made excuses that the carts were all stolen. (Not the customers fault) My husband was in the next aisle with my young children and could hear the conversation. He came around the corner cap and asked Alondra if she was arguing with a customer. She denied it, but my husband insisted that it sounded like an argument. Though he had no idea what we were discussing - he explained to Alondra that she was using an unfriendly tone. By this time, I was so disgusted by this behavior that I walked away. When I finished shopping - just 1 minute later, since I did not want to be there any longer - I returned the cart to the "original location". There were no associates except for the cashier around. I called on the store and spoke to Carlton who said he was "one of the managers". He said "I apologize", but then became argumentative. He kept asking me what I wanted him to do when I didn't even provoke the question. Before I could respond he said "What? You want me to fire someone???" My response was "Um, no. My expectation would be an apology, yes, but also for you as a manager, ***as a leader***, to assure me that you would better train your associates since there were 2 of them involved." I did not want or ask for anything but when he pushed the issue, I responded from a customer recovery standpoint. I further explained that before I wrote an email or a yelp review, I wanted to connect with the store to make amends. I also disclosed that I had called the corporate office. At that point, Carlton became dismissive and told me that since I already called then they will call him and there was nothing further. I shop at Dollar Tree stores all over Los Angeles and have never seen this before. I really hope that the team receives the resources (shopping carts) and training (customer service) to make this a great store. read more

I got food poisoning from the sweet potato fries!! Ugh. It was so bad. I have had them before with no problems but now, never again! I love the Halloween themed decor and you can't beat the prices! The quality is decent and the decorations are really vast! That's what I like the most and why I frequent the Dollar tree! I love their carve-able foam pumpkins for my three year old that isn't able to carve a real one. Their kitchen utensils are great, wax paper, aluminum foil, and zip-lock bags are a must-buy! Out of all the dollar stores Dollar Tree and 99 cents stores are my go to places. This one is very close to my house so depending on what I need I usually walk. This store is a good size and they have a wide variety of items. This is my preferred location, the one by 190th is not as awesome. The employees are nice here and the store is usually nicely laid out and not too messy. Every once in a while it looks like a tornado went through. I can usually find what I am looking for and they have a nice card selection. I like to get snacks here and sometimes I get cleaning products too. I love to get Christmas gift bags here and also gift wrap. They have a good selection of cat toys (well right now because China was not exporting items the pet toys are decimated) however usually they have a great selection. They also have the small bowls for wet food for cats that have to no slip rubber. read more

Cashier named Alondra was so very rude. When I approached to cash register there was one female customer's been waiting sometime and cashier was opening boxes right behind it which was less than a feet away but she pretended or ignored us but continuing opening box. Finally I asked a lady who was front of me whether there is a cashier and she pointed her. Then she moved to next cash register with 1st customer without tell me to move. I asked her whether I should go over but she didn't respond but I assumed and followed. I told her that she would have let me know to move to next register but no response. When she was giving me change of money she put it on counter while I put out my hand. When I looked at her she said "Because you were rude to me", and she rushed into a small office and shut the door. This was 1st time that I visited this store and I thought it was very unusual this store was this slow and I could know why. I called store today to speak to a manager but a guy who answered phone told me she isn't there and she won't be in till Monday and can't give out her name which is unusual. I do not think that is a fact and he was lying and I remember one guy was sitting while there was customer waiting and this is the one I presume. If owner of store wants business get better you should monitor employee's behavior closely. You should compare with other Dollar Tree's around. My first time ever at this Dollar Tree was this past Saturday 5/30. Myself and my fiancé stopped by because we were in the area. After getting the things we wanted I paid using my debit card and I selected to get $50 cash back. The cashier gave me 2 $20's and 2 $5 ($50 in total) and like most of us when we receive cash back we don't off the top examine the bills given to us. Me personally once I see it's my correct change I put it in my wallet/purse and continue on with my day. In this case I SHOULD have examined my money! Yesterday, (Sunday 5/31) myself and my fiancé went to the mall for a little shopping. While in H&M I found something I wanted so I went to pay for it with the cash back I received from the Dollar Tree the day prior and noticed one of the fucking $20 bills was fake! I called the store and spoke to a really nice girl name Emily and I explained who rung me up and around what time we came in the store. At first she said the person I was describing wasn't there at that time and I kept insisting the person I was referring too was there and we DID check out with him! She placed me on hold once again and sure enough I was right! She asked if I had the receipt and of course I didn't but lucky I have the transaction shown coming out of my bank account! In absent of the receipt I requested that they simply run the cameras! Honestly, this was a poor part played on Dollar Tree end because that shows they don't check there bills and they should! I feel like if you're going to a place of business you should be able to trust the bills giving to you are REAL! This $20 I was given looks and feels real and I probably wouldn't have notice if I didn't have a real one next to it when I pulled it out of my wallet. (you can tell the difference next to the real one) I just want my money back! So, being that Emily was an Assistant Manager she couldn't do anything but asked if I could call back tomorrow (Monday 6/1) and speak with the manager Jerry or Jack (not sure which one is his name). I did call and speak with the store manager Jerry/Jack yesterday morning. He said he'll run the cameras back and give me a call.. After a few hours later I called back and he saw the transaction on camera.. As a result I was able to get my money back. The manager was a nice guy. I don't look for the cashier to get in trouble, however I do feel there should be some sort of policy put in place for employees to check their bills and if it's already one enforce it! FYI CHECK YOUR MONEY BECAUSE DOLLAR TREE OBVIOUSLY DON'T PROPERLY CHECK THEIR BILLS! read more

I went to this store on 3/10/17 and I specifically wanted to compliment the associate named Mark. He provided excellent customer service by being friendly and polite, to the point where I made sure to look at his name tag so I could let his management know that he's doing a great job. I train people in customer service so I'm super picky about it. I genuinely hope that he will be recognized and rewarded by his company. I tried to submit my compliment to Dollar Store directly and there is no method to contact them via their website. So Yelp will have to do. read more

Unfortunately you can only enter the parking lot on Western so because I was coming from the opposite side of the street I had to turn early and go around the block to avoid making an illegal left turn. Once in the parking lot, parking was really easy. However this location just seemed bland to me and it seemed to not have as many options as the Lawndale and Redondo Beach locations. read more
