On my first visit, I asked for assistance with finding an item. I got the run around with a few employees telling me that wasn't their department. Today, I had my items standing at the checkout line with the green light on, meaning that line was open. Nobody came over after a few minutes. Then, when the cashier walked up, she walked past me to a different register and started to look up an item without acknowledging me or saying anything whatsoever. After a minute or two, I left the items on the counter and headed towards the door. When the cashier saw that I was leaving, she let me know that she was assisting a customer with a price check. I told her that was fine. However, since she neglected to acknowledge me prior to me deciding to leave, I decided to purchase my items at a store that provides better customer service.

I didn't initially think of Deals as a "dollar store" but there are a lot of things that are $1. If I had kids, I come here every other month or so, give them $10 and let them go crazy. And if I were just starting out and not sure of what I needed, I would come here to buy dinnerware, glasses, etc. The prices are comparable to (and in some cases lower than) Wal-Mart and Target, so why deal with the parking and long check out lines of a bigger store?
