We came on December 31st, thinking that since it was New Year's Eve, there might be a wait. Surprisingly, there wasn't. That part was fine. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The store felt disorganized and in a state of disarray, and I noticed several food items with expired dates, which is definitely something shoppers shouldn't have to worry about. What really bothered me, though, was the restroom situation. Both restrooms were marked "out of order." When I asked about it--because two seniors in our group needed to use them--an employee told me they do that so people won't ask for the key. That's unacceptable on many levels and honestly left a bad impression. Overall, it's not a terrible store, but is it worth nearly a 50-minute drive? No, it's not. Maybe I'll stop by again in the summer if I need garden supplies--but for now, this trip wasn't worth the distance.

There may be some items that are slightly more expensive, but I didn't come across them. I was particularly blown away by the gourmet food selection. I'm definitely going back to stock up on antipasti-type items like marinated mushrooms, artichokes, etc...There was also an extensive frozen foods section. I guess this is a chain; someone reviewed a store in Hobart, IN, and I believe there is a store in Chicago on Western Avenue, as well. There were brand name drugstore items like Band-Aids, Tylenol, Aleve, etc...as well as decent drugstore shampoos, soaps, household cleaners, etc... There is an extensive toy selection, too. The store is clean, well-lit, and incredibly organized. The staff is also really nice...not typical in my previous dollar store experiences. I haven't been able to find a website for this company, but if you google them you can find directories of stores around the country.This is a great place to shop; come with an open mind and an empty trunk!

All the meat is always fresh (we love the arachera here) and the butcher does and excellent job getting just right. It prices seem to be the lowest around as well. Try the fresh food on the weekend, you won't be sorry. I've recommended it to all our friends. I just wish it were closer to my home.
