On my first visit, I came in to buy candy and ending up browsing. And during that initial visit, I appreciated how many items this store has to offer and how well it's laid out. The patrons and workers take care of this store. I don't know how long it's been open, but it doesn't have the "tired" feel of most discount stores. And it's neat. Things aren't all piled up on each other in any random area; each section is separate and where you would expect to find something it's usually there. I didn't initially think of Deals as a "dollar store" but there are a lot of things that are $1. If I had kids, I come here every other month or so, give them $10 and let them go crazy. And if I were just starting out and not sure of what I needed, I would come here to buy dinnerware, glasses, etc. The prices are comparable to (and in some cases lower than) Wal-Mart and Target, so why deal with the parking and long check out lines of a bigger store? I don't know if I would have ever gone into this store if I wasn't dealing with a "candy jones" but I'm glad I did. They apparently bought the inventory of some larger stores that recently went bankrupt and they were overflowing with discount inventory. I stocked up on underwear, Christmas socks, plastic bins for storage, arts and craft supplies for $1 the list went on. You can't take their buggies out of the store, so if you buy a larger item you may want to bring a friend. But have fun!

When I first heard of Daiso, this place was described as the dollar store version for Japan. What I mean is the Japanese pricing on the tag not fully exchanging over to the USD amount when you do the conversion. It should in theory be cheaper, but it's not. You can find all sorts of things here: stationary, plushies, snacks, trinkets, home decor, toys, to accessories (travel, pet, bag, cutesy female stuff). It's a really fun variety store to visit and browse. And even within each category, there were lots of options. Like the house slippers for instance, there were so many colors and designs. And for the kiddos, there were lots of seasonal plushies of varying sizes. Like bunnies for Easter, throw pillows, or squishy ones for hugging. This store is like a toy store for adults! Also if you're buying a lot of random trinkets and knick knacks, they do not provide bags. You can most certainly purchase one of their totes or bags. But my pro tip is to bring your own. Waste less plastic with all the gizmos you're buying. :) Because of the Japanese price on the tag doesn't fully exchange over exactly, I'm not giving Daiso the full 5 stars.
