I have been a frequent visitor to this store after having kids. I like that the toy section has a variety of goodies from bubble wand to dental play kit. I can also find party supplies, gift bags, party decorations at $1.25 per piece which beats the price at Amazon. They rearrange their shelves ahead of the holidays and one can easily locate the items. Plenty of parking in the Braddock shopping center. Of the times I have been there, the cashier line is short. Last time we were here was because grandma gave kiddo 1, $2 to spend. Is this the best Dollar Tree? Nope. It's "okay" though. Kiddo got something for his toy cars to shoot off fast and some squishy panda toy that was just "soooooo cute" per him. They had an aisle with teacher-y classroom items. I thought it was great since Fairfax County is doing a virtual start this year. I picked up some stuff for the baby, the kiddo, and the kitchen. The most random item I bought was a Bill of Rights poster... the classiest was a gold wire basket. I think this is just an okay Dollar Tree because it's physically smaller than others I've been to. It's also disorganized. They do something weird with their shelving that makes me feel like I'm in a maze situation. Something else weird is they usually have some bare shelves so it looks ransacked. They should restock and clean mid-day. read more

If only everything was a dollar. Am still not happy about the increase to $1.25. I concede inflation is a problem, but haven't been happy about this change. Ultimately there are still good deals here. Laundry detergent, toothpaste, and cleaning liquids are well priced. Other household items can be procured here. This store is fairly organized. No it's not a high end store, but unlike some others in the chain, it doesn't look like a tornado went through it. Employees are friendly and helpful. Lines at check out for most part aren't too bad. This works for a few things, and serves a purpose for most. read more

I like Dollar Tree in general and idea of a relatively clean and organized place where you can find certain items for a good price. This is an A-OK Dollar Tree location. They have pretty good materials (cards, sweet treats, travel items, kitchen items, etc) and it is a good spot to find some items if you are in a pinch. The two times I have stopped by this location there was a serious line to check out. The only Dollar Tree location I have visited which did not seem to have line issues is the Vienna location (at the corner of Park & Cedar), other location seems to be less staffed (& have less cool stuff). The thing about the Vienna location is it is hard to follow but I do feel confident saying Dollar Tree is a good reliable brand in general. read more

FYI this is not a safe place to shop at all. The stores employees refuse to wear their face masks, 3 out of the 4 employees DON'T WEAR MASKS and breathe all over the store. The health department needs to shut this place down because there is a state mask mandate and they're refusing to wear masks. Furthermore there is boxes and stuff all over the floor to trip over too. This place needs new management or ANY management at this point. read more

Great selection of cheap items, friendly staff (I've never had issues here) and the wait hasn't been too unreasonable either. It's not my favorite dollar store (N.Bethesda will always be the best!) but it meets my needs. My only gripe is the parking situation - this lot is a nightmare as there are just too many shops here and people park & drive like idiots, getting in & out is also a hassle. read more

The store is kept relatively clean and organized. When it comes to the staff, they are nice and respectful. Overall, this is a great place to buy some cheap everyday items. read more

The lines can get long, but so far the majority of the staff here has been friendly and helpful. I have seldom not found what I was looking for (and I generally have a list). Overall, I ended up purchasing more than what I came for but that's OK as I still got a bargain. The ladies working on the floor were exceptionally nice and helpful. I was less than impressed (thus the one star to get management's attention) with the black lady cashier who rang up my order this morning. As a line formed at her station, she was going on and on about all the men hitting on her and basically BSing with her friends -- other coworkers as if she were hanging out at someone's house. Totally attention seeking, narcissistic, and unprofessional. She was going on and on about herself, how all men wanted her, and she hoped so-and-so wouldn't come in today to ask her for a date. Give it a break, lady -- we know you think you're all that, but you're just not. Perhaps if you behaved less like a bimbo and more like a professional doing her job, creepy men would be less inclined to hit on you. When it came my turn for her to check me out, I smiled at her, but she refused to make eye contact. I said hello to her. No response back. No "How did you find everything today" or "How are you?" Just self-centered prattling about how popular she considered herself to be. In her narcissism, she double charged things and then realized she needed to refund them. Lady, if you paid more attention to your job, such things wouldn't have happened. I have never had this happen to me at a Dollar Store. She was rude. At the end, I politely paid. She didn't thank me. Instead I got my bags and receipt shoved in my face. Meanwhile, as a line formed at her cash register, she babbled on and on about all the male attention she gets and how popular she is, and me! me! me! me! Clearly a spoiled rotten little girl with a princess complex who thinks all too highly of herself and feels having to work to earn a living and serve customers with kindness and respect is beneath her. Even though I got what I wanted, I would think twice about shopping at this Dollar Store based upon this black lady's unpleasantness and overall lack of professionalism. Lines were long asked an associate to see if we can open up another register. associate replies no there's only two registers open with an attitude. went to the manager told her about the attitude that the associate had gave me. The products are generally cheaply made/produced, but it is possible to find a few bargains here. My issue is the staff/customer service. Today a cashier, Tania, rang me up. She was incredibly rude, scowled throughout the checkout, and then shoved the products at me aggressively on my way out. When I had to bring them back to exchange them, I returned to Tania who refused to do so on grounds that she was "no longer on the clock." She could have said this nicely, but was rude and gruff. I said as much, that she didn't need to be so aggressive, and she shouted back, lodging insults at me. She did this in front of the manager who said nothing. Turns out he is unstable too. When I went to exchange my product through another cashier who was perfectly nice, he screamed after me that needed to go back through the cashier. He didn't politely tell me this, he screamed at me angrily. I felt like I was in the ghetto of the Bronx. The products I bought were entirely substandard. The foundation (makeup) was rock solid, as opposed to liquid, and wouldn't come out of the container. The lipstick smeared over my lips like pate and looked like hell. I was not permitted a refund but an exchange. All of this would have been fine, given that the products sell for $1, so the poor quality was not too unexpected.... What I didn't appreciate was the screaming tirades of Tania and her equally psycho boss. Clearly this is a toxic work environment and the staff there are miserably unhappy. I believe they make $15 an hour or more....so ther wages are decent. Must be horrible management. Staff here treats patrons horribly. This is not the first time I have experienced rude, unprofessional, unstable conduct from management and staff here, ranging from screaming over questions on where to find an item to temper tantrums when they have opened new lines and the patrons chose to stay in the original line and not come over to their machine...to verbal abuse and tirades over simple questions. A simple question of, "excuse me, sir, but where can I find pickles" can provoke a meltdown. The manager here seems psychotic...which could account for Tania's nastiness, though she needs to take responsibility for her own surly, unprofessional attitude. There is another Dollar Store on Little River Turnpike, near Shoppers, where staff is polite and gracious, and product line is pretty much the same. read more

I went into the store a week before Christmas and it was absolutely disgusting.There was nothing on the shelves boxes all over the place .mu granddaughter tripped over one of the boxes,they had boxes piled up I was afraid they would fall over on someone ,canned food on the floor with the rat shit on them,I was standing in the aisle where the water was and a rat ran out from under the shelf scared me to death I complain to the manager who really didn't care one of the employees was so apologetic to me he felt real bad because the store was in the condition it is but unfortunately a new manager came through and destroyed it I tried to call corporate to report this store but nobody would answer they need to get the other manager back in there.Rats for crying out loud read more

The new staff at this store seems like they don't want to work or help out costumers. I was buying a bag of rocks and it opened up. We tried fixing it in the register and asked the cashier( Loraine ) for a bag. She began to say that she had to charge us as if we wouldn't gotten 2 items but it was the same item just the bag was open. I tried to explain to her and she told me to leave to another register if I didn't want to pay. I told her I would not go to another register I need to speak to a manager. She told me to go call the manager myself. In those words I was quiet upset at this point. The manager came and the cashier Loraine continued to talk back to me while her manger was there. It was one of the worst experiences I've had at the dollar store. I really hope that they talk to their staff about how to talk to a costumer and how to go about solving issues. That can be solved with communicating, instead of speaking to me in such a rude manner. Hoping the staff here changes or I will not be returning to this dollar store. read more
