have lived around this acme my whole life (34 years) and…read morehave memories of shopping there with my mother when I was young. Since then I have moved out to browns mills and the acme is just a disgusting as my childhood memories recall. You can tell just by entering the store that it's the only grocer in town. Maybe if the township got other grocers in town this acme would try. The meat is poor quality and sometimes goes bad in a day when properly stored. The layout of the store has changed 3 times in the past 5 years. They are in the higher side of pricing as well. Most times product isn't even on the shelf because they can't stop the mutants in town from buying everything that goes on sale instantly. I would avoid this and go to New Egypt market place the next town over. they may be expensive, but at least it's all fresh quality goods. Avoid this acme at all costs.

Ive been a customer at the Acme Supermarket for 5 years . The Fort Lee store needs to reduce the…read moresize of the store by 50%. The store has a women who is the watchdog for the store. She is rude and very disrespectful . She may be honest , if she was in charge of my buisness , she would have been restrained to have respect for people wether it's an employee or a customer. She works in the small office behind customer service counter. No excuse for her behavior. There's is a night shift manager who is more of a clown than knowing anything about how to maintain the integrity of a large supermarket . Hes a nice person amd is the wrong person to be at the Acme Supermarket. Let him go back to the bank he tells everyone he worked at. WITH THE ABOVE SAID : THE STORE IS CHARGING TOP DOLLAR AND WHOEVER IS CONTROLLING THE IRATIC PRICING SHOULD ALSO GO A SCHOOL AND LEARN HOW TO MANAGE THIS CONCERN. THE FRUIT AMD VEGETABLE DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO BE REDUCED BY 50% I ON AVERAGE 50% OF WHATS SOLD IS ROTTON DUE TO POOR QUILITY AND NOT ENOUGH TURNOVER OF PRODUCT. THE ENTIRE STORE IS RIDDLED WITH THE SAME QUILITY ISSUE. TOP DOLLAR WITH SHORT DATING . TO MUCH PRODUCT WITH NO TURNOVER. PARENT COMPANY HAS NO IDEA HOW BADLY RUN THE FORT LEE Acme is operated. It's a shame that 70% of the employees arent sanctioned for poor workers ethics. Whenever Im in the store , the employees complain. To bad , there the ones responsible for how poor this store is run. This store may make a small profit at best. If the store was properly operated , it would easily do 3 x the volume. Sad report , But the truth!. I have to go to the Fairway Market every week to purchase product that isnt rotton or short dated. Last week, I bought branded cookies for $1.99 pack on sale. After I eat 3 cookies, I was sick to my stomach. I looked at the date and saw 2 weeks left to expire. Those cookies always have 9 months dating . No one cares. Close the store for 14 days and sanction all the workers . Let them know the sanctions are due to there not caring . Reduce the store size asap and sublet the other 1/2 . This will help . My name is Ken and im a customer who cares for Acme and myself. Amen Yelp needs to Help this buisness now.

The food alone is worth the trip! The giant BBQ turkey leg with mashed potatoes and gravy is a must-try. The ribs are also outstanding. Wash it all down with a refreshing homemade lemonade, and don't leave without grabbing some homemade donuts. One tip: eat first, then spend the rest of the day walking the market to help burn off all those delicious calories! We'll definitely be back.

I was derelict in my Yelping of this institution for far too long. I was here seeking out Amish cottage cheese which I haven't been able to get at the Trenton farmers market for many years. I knew it would be located in the Amish wing but I needed to walk the rest of the building too. I entered that section to find crowds of people everywhere. To view the prepared hot foods would have required standing in a long line just to eventually get close enough to peek at the cases. I found the cottage cheese prepackaged and decided to walk around the rest of the place before returning to make a few purchases. There were so many temptations in the Amish part, pretzels, prepared salad items, donuts, baked goods in general and of course the meats. The rest of Columbus has treasures to be found as well, depending on your outlook. Discount over the counter drugs, health and beauty, craft soda and pickles, clothes of all kinds, shoes, housewares. I could probably go on. Really something for everyone. My stroll took me past a chicken shop that once I caught the smell of its fried goods, I knew I'd be trying on my way back. At the far end where other food stalls are I saw a taqueria that I plan on trying next trip. With a bag full of fried goodness I was no longer concerned about the Amish foods. I grabbed the cottage cheese and walked out with just a bit of regret that I didn't snag a donut or a dozen. I popped into the produce building just to see what was there. Nice looking veggies but most were sold in bulk. Towards the end of this building is a seafood market that I've heard good things about. Now I have more reasons to return. 4.5 stars !
