Also this has been the 3rd or 4th time since summer this has happened. So I call and talk to the manager of the meat department and he told me "they'll probably refund you in the front" (which they did) but I told him I didn't really want to be that person and complain but it's getting frustrating. Having to do multiple trips to the same store for one meal because of the meat. Like every month. The food prices are already high. Not to mention for a local grocer. And to get home and find out the food you just bought is already bad? It shouldn't really be my job to check dates. There are food distribution laws that prohibit that. And he told me either deal with it or drive a half hour somewhere else. I also addressed the fact the last time I called they sold me RANCID chicken that hadn't even hit its expiration date yet and he told me "well what do you want me to do, open the packages everyday??". I'm not sure but in most other department stores when i call and notify them of rancid/dangerous products, the response shouldn't be "yeah we heard, just bring it back for a refund." That would be a recall on product for the public in most other stores. Love the cashiers. But that was totally on character for the other calls I've made to the meat department. The other manager in the front also seemed less than interested in the fact his employee acted out like this or that they sold bad/ dangerous merch. Will not be visiting again.

Crazy Apes offers basically all the selection a Wal-Mart does (besides refrigerated slash frozen foods) but with packages that have seen better days, slightly expired pantry food, or minor defects. It's a liquidation store so the shelves will be loaded in some areas but sparse in others. Given the wide array of products, I would say the store is as organized as a liquidation store can be. But not having perfectly faced shelves full of product doesn't bother me one bit, that's how I snagged a nice set of sheets for $18 dollars (and can you believe the taped up label from Target didn't distract me from buying it!) One thing to note, the selection is always changing so if you see something you want don't wait. Grab it. Go home and call your friends. This my friends, is a cheapskates paradise.

Bedding from quilts to sheets. Pillows throw pillows knitted blankets. She also has a variation of kitchen appliances, kitchen utensils all the way to ice skates baskets, figurines. In the back is where she keeps her furniture. The furniture can be anywhere from nowaday to antique just depending on what she has in the shop at the time. She also has bed mattresses headboards footboards lamps pictures and picture frames. I myself the shop there because you never know what she's going to have in her shop. It's always a surprise to see something that you haven't seen in years, say that old kitchen utensil that they don't make anymore that you loved to cook with, bam there it is on her shelf. I love pulling up to see all of the craft projects that range in such a variation from something that you would put in a farm home to in your brand new house that you were just looking for that one piece. That mouth drop piece that you have to have. So no Jan's is not a thrift store.
