It can be tedious, no doubt. HOWEVER, when I choose to give my business to a store there is one thing that I don't just expect, I require - that is someone at the checkout counter waiting for me to finalize my selection(s) and pay them. For whatever reason the self checkout has been disabled at this store so all the customers must rely on someone to be behind the counter when they wish to buy something. Twice in the past two weeks I have come into this particular Dollar General only to stand at the counter waiting for someone to come and take my money - which they never did. I left my selections on the counter and spent my money elsewhere - somewhere that shows they WANT my business by having a clerk behind the counter waiting to assist me. I am a business man - I own a business so I understand how hard today's retail world has become. However, this is unacceptable.

The worst dollar general ever. The whole DG franchise as a whole has had a steady decline in…read morecleanliness and customer service but the Wetumpka DG is the worst! I used to go there because it was quick but anymore you wait in line longer than bigger stores. After the way I seen how the employees treated the people ahead of me,I put my things back and walked out. That was the second time at that location I seen this happen. Never again will I shop there or at DG. I'll just stand in line at the one open register at Wal Mart.

My only complaint however is that it's so hot almost as if the air conditioning isn't working in the store. Besides that I give them a 5 star rating.
