I had a coupon that was valid for up to $49.99 off a case of Purina cat food. During my purchase, I bought two cases: one priced at $43.12 and another priced at $28.08. First, I was inconvenienced by the lengthy wait required because a salaried manager had to authorize the coupon. Unfortunately, the situation became even more frustrating when the manager applied the coupon to the $28.08 case, rather than the $43.12 case. If the coupon was valid for up to $49.99, it seems only reasonable that it should have been applied to the qualifying case with the higher purchase price of $43.12. Instead, Walmart effectively shortchanged me by $15.04 in coupon value. What makes this particularly concerning is that Walmart is not absorbing the cost of this promotion. Purina presumably reimburses Walmart for properly redeemed promotional coupons. Therefore, I have a difficult time understanding why the coupon was deliberately applied to the less expensive case. There is also another issue that concerns me. The manager did not write the actual discount amount on the coupon, even though that was apparently required. Consequently, I have no way of knowing whether Walmart will submit the coupon to Purina for the actual $28.08 discount or potentially receive the full $49.99 reimbursement. If Walmart receives the full $49.99 reimbursement from Purina while only giving me $28.08 in savings, that would mean Walmart could potentially profit an additional $21.91 from the transaction, while I was denied the $15.04 in savings I reasonably expected based on the higher-priced case. At a minimum, the failure to document the actual discount creates a serious transparency issue. I would like Walmart to investigate this transaction and explain: 1. Why the coupon was applied to the $28.08 case instead of the $43.12 case. 2. What Walmart's policy is regarding applying coupons that are valid for "up to" a specified dollar amount. 3. What amount Walmart will submit to Purina for reimbursement. 4. Why the manager failed to document the actual discount amount on the coupon as required. 5. Whether Walmart will reimburse me the $15.04 difference resulting from the coupon being applied to the lower-priced case. I have been a Walmart customer, but experiences like this make customers question whether they are actually receiving the full benefit of promotions advertised by Walmart and its suppliers. This is not simply about $15.04. It is about fairness, transparency, and whether customers can trust Walmart to properly honor promotional offers. I would appreciate a prompt explanation and resolution.

Okay, so I swore I would never review WalMart. I mean, it's WalMart, right? We've all been there,…read morewe've all stood in a long line with slow cashiers and we have all walked a hundred miles in this store just to get milk. We have also all marveled at the human species while in this ginormous store. We've been there, done that. The game changer for me, though, was the order pickup tower that was recently installed. WOW-WE! Before the tower when you ordered something online for store pickup, you had certain hurdles you had to jump over to get your item. You had to scan in, wait for someone to acknowledge you, show you ID, wait while they searched through lockers to find your item and then you were good to go. With the tower, you scan in the barcode that has been emailed to you. Your product is rotated around and then scooped into a bin and the bin releases into an opening in the tower. You simply retrieve your item and *POOF* off you go. It took me under two minutes to get my item. Seriously, it was that fast. It was fun watching the item being retrieved, too. The best part about this new service is you do not have to wait for someone to wait on you. You don't have to wait for fumbling clerks to find a locker key, rummage through other items to retrieve your product. It is quite an incredible system. I actually might order more things just so I can use it again. LOL. At this point in time, there are only 150 of these towers in operation throughout the United States. I am just grateful there is one in Lawrence. I am one of those techy geek people and WalMart just knocked it out of the park!

And one of the things that I remember was that Walmart was very good about going into small towns in somewhat rural areas, and opening up a series of small stores. The prices at the small stores would undercut prices for local mom and pop hardware stores and clothing places, causing them to shutter. And once the competition was gone, the Walmart corporation would close most of the small stores, and open up a regional store much farther away forcing all those towns who enjoyed their own Walmart store to travel to a single one. That memory stayed with me while we visited this tiny little Walmart on our road trip. I wondered if this was one of those little stores that somehow missed old Sam's watch fly... This thing was about the size of a small supermarket, but still had all of the things you would expect in a Walmart. Plus, they had things you don't always see you like kayaks and inflatable boats propped up in the parking lot. At least, we don't get that kind of fun here in Southern California. The store was also cleaner than most of the ones I get the joy of visiting here in my native land, and it also wasn't populated by hundreds of people who seem to be having a bad day. The parking lot was small enough to give me a few extra thoughts about navigating it with my 26 foot camper trailer, but we did OK. Just a hop and I skipped off of this small country Road highway but I was traveling to our next destination, I was still able to find my DEF fluid for the truck, and a few other odds and ends for the cooler. Can imagine when I'll drive through here again, but wouldn't have any problem stopping in if I do.
