He had a Justin Bieber-esque haircut. Friendly enough while checking me out. Although he was wearing a mask, he had his nose out. I appreciate the effort BUT what made me uncomfortable is the fact that he was sniffling as he bagged my groceries. Over each bag. He'd pull the mask up and then pull it down exposing his nose and, sniffles, bags. Why would you do this? I sanitized everything when I got home, this just made me so so uncomfortable. My stop at this Ingles was equal parts nostalgia and necessity. I happened to be in the Temple area…read moreshowing houses recently and decided to swing through Ingles to pick up a quick lunch instead of hitting the surrounding fast-food joints. Ingles used to be all over when I was kid and at that time was my mom's go to spot for groceries. Sadly, they have been replaced or just faded away in many areas closer to the city, but in the rural area Ingles are still thriving and this location is a great example of that! To start, this Ingles is quite large! It features all the normal grocery store sections plus the specialty sections of pharmacy, deli meats/cheeses, butcher/fish...but this location also has the sandwich bar along with the hot bar plus a wing bar that also has olives, sides, etc...and they even have a nice Starbucks that sits directly in front of the main entry door. Outside of the store they have a small Ingles gas station with competitively priced gas. I will say that while most of these things are also standard in Kroger's, the wing bar had me...that is legit the first self-serve hot wing bar I have come across in a grocery store! A few other things I like about Ingles is their reward program, which again is similar to Kroger. However, one thing they do have that the other chains do not is the $1 aisle, where they have a full aisle of things priced at just $1.00! Outside of everything they offer, I was impressed with how well kept and clean this location was. Additionally, the service was solid as well. I will say that while all the stuff listed above makes it sound absolutely phenomenal, I will say that Ingles prices are slightly higher that I am used to paying at other brands. If I lived in the area, I am sure I would not notice too much, but given a choice I feel Ingles would be a specialty item trip not my everyday grocery spot due to that. Overall, it was great to visit an Ingles and again, I was impressed with this location and if I am ever in this area or any other that features an Ingles, I can see myself popping in.

When I got to the…read moreregisters, they were two lights on, but everybody was at one register so I got into the line for that one and out of the person in front of me finish check it out I walked up. The cashier had bumped her phone or something and I think it might have broke her case. So for a few minutes, she talked about that while I said they're waiting to be rung up and acknowledged. Finally the lady at the register next to her said hey, you have a customer waiting on you, which was me standing there just waiting to be acknowledged. And she kept talking, the guy that was bagging the groceries seem to be a manager and they were just both talking about her, breaking her phone case or whatever. I spoke to her because it did not seem like she was going to speak to me which she still didn't. So she rang me up And didn't tell me what my total was just stood there, so I looked at the screen to see what my total was and checked out. No one said thank you. No one was nice. Customer service was awful. This is not a grocery store that I frequent often but it is on my way home and not far from my house so I will stop in to get things periodically. but the customer service is never really that great.

It's always something at this place on every visit. You can't get through the checkout without an issue requiring intervention of some kind and it delays the process.
