Dollar General, in general, is pretty good about being straightforward. Not everything is priced…read moreat $1.00, so they have a little bit of everything you might need. A lot of the newer stores are well-organized and easy to navigate, whereas the old stores were difficult and chaotic. (I can't think of a location that would be terrible in New Paris but I still remember the smell of some chicken place that burnt to the ground just north of here but the smell is thankfully gone after all these years.) In small towns like New Paris where there is no grocery store, Dollar General wins. They have a big chain with loads of distribution capacity, so that they can offer good prices in contrast to the mom and pop grocery stores that have to charge more to sell you anything. I found this one to be a good store and the clerk was friendly. The $5.00 off coupon introducing the store was mighty helpful. If the many other locations are any indication, this New Paris location should be active for many years.

We stopped in today looking for a couple things. My SO wanted squirt bottles with a snap on/off cap…read morethat she can use for dog shampoo. Yup, they had them and they were $1 each! I wanted to try to find something I could toss in the lunch pail that would be good. I found some small crunch wafers that would do the trick. On the flip side, finding things is a task. It's not very well organized. The squirt bottles were behind other things and the wafers were not in the candy or cookie isle. If your ok to hunt a bit the price is very good.

This Dollar General is a newer store and as such, has so far managed to avoid the cluttered,…read more junky look that some Dollar General stores develop. I stop in here a few times a month- sometimes for essentials like milk, sometimes for snacks or quick things like greeting cards. I can regularly stock up on household items like detergent or toilet paper here pretty cheap if I watch for sales/ coupons. They also have their own coupon app. The cashiers vary in attitude- most are friendly, but a few act annoyed that you're there. Overall, I find this a handy store and I'm glad it's close to my home.
