I spoke to her in the store and she was completely and repulsively rude, I also called the store to compliment a store employee and wouldn't you know it I got the same assistant manager, again very rude and could care less that the employee was being complimented, just utterly rude. Called and spoke to the GM about an issue and also on this matter, was promised He would call back on a specific date, it never happened, I eventually reached out to him only to hear the excuse " I lost your number", not very professional. In summary if you ask for a hand basket because you are in a wheelchair you are going to get a nasty reply from the assistant manager, other store employees will give you different answers including the store manager, and don't call to compliment an employee apparently that is frowned upon keeping in mind that the store manager really does not care because he will not get back to you as promised. I would recommend going elsewhere such as Walmart in Hagerstown or Waynesboro, there is also Weis Markets, Lidl, and Save A Lot in Hagerstown. As I earlier stated I like Martins in general but when you are let down by the manager and are talked down to in an incredibly nasty manner by the assistant manager and you get an attitude from the same assistant manager while trying to compliment an employee it kinda turns you off on Martins. Obviously the assistant manager feels her behavior is acceptable and the only way she could feel that it is acceptable is that it must be tolerated by her manager, not to mention all the misinformation you receive from all the different employees and management regarding hand baskets is frustrating, to actually have a manager who says to you" I don't know what the corporate policy is on hand baskets" is mind boggling, I thought to myself aren't you the store manager?, such a shame. Again save yourself the burden of shopping at Martins, there are a multitude of stores close by that will appreciate and value your business and it will show in their customers service, knowledge and performance.

One employee also shared that Martin's used to make them put the gift cards behind the counter because this kind of thing happens all the time!!! Why is Martin's selling products they know may be invalid and why is Martin's making the customer absorb the loss when Martin's carries this product item in their stores?! Is there not a Martin's policy of product guarantees??!! Called Amazon service as Martin's employees to do and Amazon said it had already been used! There is a lady who is going in there with a small dog and putting it in a cart. This dog is not a service animal. It ooks like and acts like a regular pet. It is important for people who need service animals to have them everywhere but they do not sit in carts and they are well behaved. I was waiting by the lottery machine and the dog was out of the cart rnning up to me several times. I probably would not have said anything if it had not been annoying me. This lady turned and asked me if i was waiting to play the lottery. It was obvious I was and when she did I asked her if the dog was hers and why it was in the grocery store. She said she had special permission fromt he store manager and she had anxiety so she needed this little dog which was ridiculous. I looked up the law on this and only service animals are allowed in grocery stores, not emotional support animals. The worse thing about it is the fact that she puts the dog in the cart instead of having a leash and controlling it alongside the cart. I wrote a letter to the manager of the store and received no response so I am assuming this is alright with him even though this is a health and sanitation violation. Oh sure,the dog is cute and all that but it is in a cart that anyone could get afterwards. And to be blunt, that dog's rear end and paws are all over that cart , a cart that you or I may unknowingly put our produce and food stuffs on after this woman leaves the store. And talking to the assistant manager and secutrity guard were useless at the time, even though at that point this woman was calling me names and saying she was purposely going to stay at the lottery machine to keep me from using it.

It's a nice store, well stocked, and the staff has, for the most part, been pleasant. The Yelp…read morelisting says it's open 24 hours, but this is not the case. It opens at 7, which is very inconvenient for those of us who are early birds. It would rate a 5 if not for that.
