And the whole place feels like a family run business. I've been to many Latin markets from Nasvillle to San Diego. This one in Candor is my favorite. It'll probably be yours if you stop there too. I'm actually be going there today after work to pick up some food for church meal tomorrow.

We stopped here on a whim and walked out with a really nice handmade rug :)…read more We were instantly greeted upon entry and explained the layout of the store. We were left to explore which I appreciated. No one followed us around or kept bugging us. When we had questions someone was always nearby. We checked the price to ship and it was more than we wanted to spend, the associate was super friendly and helped us roll it up in plastic so we could check it as luggage since it came under 50lbs Pretty neat place and worth the stop.

Okay, I am local and know about this place--unfortunately!…read moreTheir rugs are high cost/low quality-so steer clear of them! Now-as for their treatment/mistreatment of employees---well, I applied there many moons ago for a position, which I was qualified for and because of politics and the good ole boy system-I was never even considered for the position!!!! But, looking back-it was a blessing in disguise as I know how they treated long term employees--using them to their best interests and letting them go without just cause once they're finished with them! I understand at will employment, but I also understand unfair standards and practices! Of course, when a company hires John McGee----go figure!!!

The big strawberry is where you get ice cream, milkshakes, cobblers, homemade lemonade & orangeade. Definitely will be making this a place to stop every time we take a beach trip!

Prices are fair for what you get. My one real gripe is that everything skews very sweet. I ordered a peach iced tea and specifically asked for sugar free, and what I got was closer to syrup than tea. If you like your desserts and drinks on the sweet side, you'll be thrilled. If you don't, order carefully and maybe stick to a single scoop. Worth the stop for the roadside kitsch and the produce alone.

If you ask me, this store needed it badly. The store is clean, very clean compared to other Food Lions I've been to. The deli/bakery touts a 99 sanitation score and the floors are spotless. Every part of the store has been redone from the ground up, including the exterior storefront. Considering this is the only grocery store in Marshville, and the last one on Hwy 74 until you get to Wadesboro, it's a welcome change for this small town. You'll find all of the usual grocery store amenities here with a great produce selection and dry-goods grocery. A big convenience "Grab n Go" section near the registers has an expanded selection of protein bars, nuts, jerky, and Better-for-you snacks. Another plus to this shopping center is that the parking lot has a 'Cashpoints' ATM that is surcharge-free. It's the only of its kind in Marshville from what I can tell. Great move by Food Lion to make this store 1000% better.
